It's funny how the meaning of this song has changed as I've aged. When this came out, I was 21, young and naive, and had only been in the army for a couple years.
Now, I'm 34, and after serving 12 years and a few combat tours, this song rips deep and feels like it came from my heart. It's hard to listen to. Originally, it had a romantic feel to me. Now, suffering from nightmares and finding a partner that is very supportive, it means a hell of a lot more. I just wonder what Oli was going through went he wrote this...because this isn't something that comes from a little inspiration, this comes from a place of real pain and longing.

Criminally underrated.
Oli's screams and Lights' vocals blend so good. To point something out, Lights' work in "There Is A Hell.." was epic. Her melodic vocals in Don't Go, Crucify Me and It Never Ends were absolutely fantastic. She and BMTH created magic with their 2011 collab.
I just found out the back story for this and I'm shook! I can't believe this is about a kid getting killed by his cousin....

Listened to this song for years through my teenage years. It was really bad then. I've never stopped listening to it. Its still bad now, and I still rely on this song to release my emotions into.

this song reaches in the depths of needing someone so u can escape the past and pain and numbness but in the end realizing it all comes crashing down anyways so you lose touch.
People have the tendency to forget that BMTH was at least trying to incorporate a lot of different, oddball elements into this heavy metalcore/deathcore sound really early on. Almost feel like this album came out a bit too early. Would like to see the response if this came out today. I hear a lot of similarities in sound when comparing it to modern metalcore.

@JBL A boy who was brutally murdered by three adolescents. Oli (the vocalist) knew the victim from school and one of the murderers is Olis cousin. You can find more information if you search Google, the name of the victim was Terry Hurst
@JBL Most of their songs are based on personal experiences of the band members, mostly Oli. Another dark song for example is Suicide Season, it's about a friend of the band whose father commited suicide. After that the person changed so much that the band didn't recognice him anymore and they wished it din't happpen

This song takes me back to when I was depressed in late 2014. I discovered music like this which kinda helped me absorb the depression and move on, you know? "Don't Go" is the song that helped me the most probably.
This reminds me of my deadbeat dad. He was only with me and there for me when it was convenient for him. He didn’t help or even be with me when I was at my lowest points of my life. He simply didn’t give a damn; especially at those times and not even in general. He just disappeared off the face of the earth! This is one of my favourite songs in this album as it perfectly explains how I feel and is very moving 🖤
