I don't know, man, it just sounded so raw and good back then...but yeah he totaly fucked up his voice on a day-to-day basis after Count your Blessings blew up.

I used to do vocals from my throat and it tore up my voice and I after I went to a BMTH show this past month I decided I needed to learn and I already sound better doing it properly. But he fixed his technique and sounds incredible these days

For those who don't know, this song was written about Terry Hurst who had learning disabilities and was murdered by his bullies who invited him on a camping trip. He was found in a ditch with over 60 wounds and a scythe buried in his head less than a day later. All three of them were sentenced life in jail.

It's still their best album for that reason among others and whether you like the direction they went in afterwards or not, I honestly don't think you can actually deny that his parts added quite a bit to the music especially with how fast their sound was evolving. That's not to say that anything he does that Oli and Jona were the ones playing in the studio for songs before he joined wasn't good because I think they were, but some could argue that some of those parts didn't really fit that well with the sound they were chasing at the time whereas now, I think everyone agrees that his inclusion and his role fits their current style way better and he makes those parts flow so seamlessly.
Much respect, I love their music so much, they put so much heart in it. The production is simply amazing and everything sounds perfect, although, he lacks vocal technique and we all can feel that singing like this is being harmfull to his throat
Nekros97 he doesn't use proper technique. for example when he growls he doesn't correctly do fries or false chords and pushes too much from his throat and lungs rather than his diaphragm. He does it wrong and that is how he damaged himself so much.

one of the saddest days of my life - not just because of that. being stuck in a treatment center messes with your head. it made me wicked depressed to see my home town for some reason. anyway. this song has always been very important, before it was my heartbreak-song it was a good friend of mine's favorite song, and i think it meant a real, real lot to him, back at age 16. to me personally, i feel that this is BMTH's saddest song, and their most dark. the opening violins - and the really distorted and cool sounding guitar, that gets especially loud at the very end of the song - add so much emotion and power to this song. and the vocals from LIGHTS of course. she's just incredible. every time i listen to this song it kind of makes me feel like i'm in a lucid dream, or a trip like state... the way the sounds collide transports me to a different world. every time.
FAVORITE bmth song of all time, easily, i am so glad they got a chance to do it live with her. it's a freaking amazing performance. god i think i'm gushing. ah. sorry. nostalgia man, you got to love it right.
