Thank you for showing the settings. I have been struggling with my recent purchase of the same grinder. The instructional videos lack the settings used to perform specific grinding operations.
You are on my top five TH-cam machinist's list.

Stefan: I think that a series on using this cutter grinder would be great. Here you were not giving us your wonderful narration, please repeat this video with your waluble voice.
    cheers

So glad you eventually chose to add voice-over… The overlaid captions were never on screen long enough to read in their entirety. Had to do a lot of rewinding and pausing. Excellent incremental improvement.

Congratulations from Brasil, Stefan ! Excellent video ! I was thinking about purchasing a similar clone about 3 years ago, and your previous video about this machine help me a lot with the decision, because it was the ONLY video I could find that explained a endmill sharpening process ! Thanks !!
I made an adaptor for my machine that allows me to mount a worn out inox cutting disc (about 1mm thick) to make the central gashing. Is necessary to use a worn out disc because the new ones does not fit under the wheel cover.

Thank you. I am buying one of these from Grizzly and there is not much regarding their quality on TH-cam. I have used a Deckel before. If this is even remotely as good it will be fine.

I know this video has been made a while ago. I have one of those dekel copycat as well. I have looked at some grinding end mill videos and noticed that they also include the 12 degree relief etc. are those 12 degree reliefs required or does the 5 degree suffice?

I have owned a Christen 2-32 tool grinder, sold it when the business wasn't doing too well. Still regret it, might buy another one in the future.

pierre beaudry I would love to have a full blown tool/cutter grinder in my shop...and a small surface grinder next to it - But space gets a premium ;)

We're all stuck with the problem of lack of space, if my shop would be bigger it would still be too small... We always get a new tool to fill an empty space and, a little more...

I have this machine. Did you have a problem with removing the disc? Everything else works great.

    • @StefanGotteswinter
      @StefanGotteswinter  9 ปีที่แล้ว

sorstudios The Chinese tightened the screw that holds the flange on the spindle taper with something like a impact wrench...took a good amount of force to get it of. Best way to do is removing the central screw (M6?) and then put a M8 screw in the thread of the flange. When tightened it acts like a jack and pushes off the flange :)

Stefan please forgive me for including this question in this random video. I have been looking for the video that you talked about a certain type of diamond impregnated discs that were fairly inexpensive that you got on eBay and I can't find it in your money videos to save my life! I don't know exactly what to search for.
What you were showing in this particular video is exactly what I need for a project that I'm doing soon.
If you know exactly what I'm talking about please direct me to that video so I can watch it again. Alternatively could you let me know the name of the seller or the item at least that I should be looking for?
Again I am sorry to ask this personal favor in one of your videos but I have not had any luck with the messaging system and TH-cam I gave up years ago.
    Thank you very much!

Stefan Gotteswinter I found a vendor that sells the 200mm out if california. Was looking for 6 inch but I can adapt and overcome!
Do thank you again. Could you post a link to the video in question so that I can satisfy this frustration I am feeling for not being able to find it?
      It's driving me crazy !
Also I have a case of very very very expensive Swiss made Servo Motors you know the type that they making a clean room buy a robot. I cannot remember the exact specs but the RPMs I believe are in the 70000 range. If I get a chance to look for them I will see if I can find them and send you a couple. they really need to be driven through a controller but I believe you can simply run them at top speed which if I'm not mistaken is 24 volts DC or perhaps 48vcd.
I have some small pullies that were made for them as well. They used kapton Drive belts and generated zero vibration. They were used in a application that turned 36 tiny titanium centrifuge. I don't even know if this would be something that you would be interested in having or if I can even find them in storage I will find out tomorrow I guess. You could move a tool extremely fast with these motors I'm thinking Engraving.

that wheel isn't dressed properly and your gashing is negative rake and why not grind a center cutting gash, its really easy (tip # 3 use the machine to gash utilizing a dead stop)

Jeffrey Pfeifer Yeah, I think they are sold all around the world, but If I get the opportunity to get a Deckel S0E at a reasonable price, I will drop the chinese one instantly ;)Not that the chinese one is realy bad (it works very well), the Deckel one is just a whole lot nicer made.

By doing a hand "gashing", you pretty much ruined the center cutting ability of the endmill. I should also point out that sharpening the lips of an endmill only improves the plunge cutting of an endmill it does little to improve side cutting. Cutter grinder shops will sharpen the peripheral cutting edges of an enmill if necessary. Of course that reduces the diameter of the mill. If you're making accurate cuts you should always measure the diameter of your cutter.

Go easy on that wheel.. I see you already have a big radius on it. If you keep the wheel corner sharp, you won't have to go touch up the center afterwards. Take smaller cuts.

ThomasTheSailor Chubby On my better diamond wheels I grind very light - But that one is a beater, its used and abused all the time..those chinese diamond wheels are cheap enough to do that and they still last a long time. Also I dress it on a regular base with a rotating siliconecarbide wheel which works very well.
