I learnt Srirudram & many sookthas as a kid but now I know why my guruji used to admonish me when I missed a swara or chanted without the required stress/energy. From Sri Thyagaraja to even Rammstein... amazing way to explain things... Sri Dushyanth ji is such a talented person. He knows a LOT of stuff in many languages and other areas, but is very smart in teaching and imparting that knowledge on people through his talks. Thank you sir! 🙏धन्योSस्मि 🙏

Superb. I am also just understanding vedas. Till now i didn't know what vedas stand for. Your explanation is clear. Only if we know we can tell our children. I am yet to be clear on vedas and sanatana dharma
Interestingly the poem ‘’ It was roses roses all the way ‘’ ( Robert Browning) was chosen by me for recitation and I was declared the BEST . While standing at the bus stop the Head of English Department Krishna Chatterjee told me “ Rajalakshmi you were very good…”
Most of maths prohibit this because it is a Vedic mantra. This is one issue that all mathas - Advaita, Vishistadvaita and Dvaita - are unanimous about. Of course there are many who disagree so your decision would largely depend upon who you revere.
@lakshmisubramanian70 if you have reached menopausal stage in your life you can recite. Please avoid chanting vedic mantras from the time of menstruation till you hit menopause because in one of his Upanyasams Dushyant has said that certain organs of women may get damaged due to the excess vibration generated after chanting vedic hymns (Gayatri mantram especially). However, you can choose to recite tons of Pancharatnams, Ashtakams, Dashakams, stotrams written by our revered Gurus which yield equal results to that of Vedic hymns. 😊
