  • Northwest Salmon spend most of their lives in the ocean; they travel thousands of miles across wide expanses of the Pacific Ocean. They work with each other in schools, to hunt the food they need to ensure their survival and a return to their home waters. Oregon Salmon have been found as far away from the Central Oregon Coast as Japan…that’s a 5,000 mile journey.

      Geoff, can you tell us a little about how you found us and if you are using this in a classroom setting...and if so where, what ages, etc? This was part of the NOAA B-WET Program and we are interested in the distribution of the videos. Thanks.

    Just some random fisherman researching salmon; in particular when they sleep.
    Never found out.
    Also if you guys ever head to Vancouver Island and need a drone and pilot, let me know.

    Natives do not use the same ways to catch salmon as their ancestors. Their ancestor is never had gas and diesel-powered vessels
