    How I got black out my hair was let it fade really bad then used a box dye that only lifts two levels I just kept slowly lifting my hair for a month I went black to brown to light brown to dirty blonde to strawberry blonde then I went to salon to go platinum and still had healthy hair my stylist was surprised lol

    Why the heck did she do black roots? You had black roots already. Don’t go to that hairstylist never again!!!

    • @sarahs4244
      @sarahs4244 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Her stylist probably thought it’d help blend the blonde into her roots, but the main mistake they made was most likely rinsing her hair with warm water and, I’m guessing, using permanent black color. The warmer the water you use when rinsing, the more the color with bleed into blonde. Her stylist should’ve tried using clarifying shampoo over the blonde and re-toning it. Or they could’ve used a very weak bleach bath to remove that weird gray.

    Just out of curiosity, why did you use coconut oil with treatments? It effects the hair ability to absorb products such as bleach or color. How much did you end up paying for the debacle color correction? I recently visited a salon and they caused a real problem,. had to go somewhere else for a color correction.

    closed to the root bleaches faster then lower bit of your hair. also it depends on the bleach and developer you get and the volume of the developer. i learned for darker hair and you doing want extremely orange hair use a white bleach powder and a 25-30 vol developer xx

    Ask your stylist if she can get joico. Using joico lilac with conditioner and letting it sit for an hour in my hair is how I keep my blonde super white, and how I keep my clients super icy blonde. It eliminates ANY brassy tone, because purple counteracts yellow. And sometimes in between I use joico V9.
    That's my professional advice for you!

      40 volume should never be used in foils. Period, idc what anyone says 40 volume is for cap highlights and extreme scenarios, i can tell the difference of a rapid session lift, or on a personal occasion, having a student stylist put 40vol on my natural level 7 roots. She set her stylist up for failure

  • @LadyBorgia
    @LadyBorgia 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow! Ooh! Your hair shouldn't have come out in clumps after lightening. I'll be making a tutorial next month as I custom mix my silvery white platinum with professional products myself. I don't trust box products bc I can't control it exactly how I want it. Shampoo won't lift your hair, it can only help tone it and balance the appearance of the yellow brassy tones. Hope your hair has recovered!😊

    I'm trying to build my hair up for some color removal, bleach and toning in a few months. I do the once a week shower thing; I shower everyday, but put a cap on my head 6 days out of 7. Then I do a hair masque, rinse and put on a leave in conditioner. It's just hard to deal with hair that's really damaged; I know this from my own messes.

    It also takes 2 or 3 times to lift black hair. You have to wait a few days in between. Use a protein mask. You need thick creamy hair masks. Reds orange is the base color for brown black hair. Lift it again then out hair color over it.

    You need to use shampoos without sulfates. The chemicals in the shampoo is what’s drying your hair out. Try Shea Moister shampoos or Cantu. &&&& you need to do a deep conditioner at least once a week. You can get some from dollar general, they’re really good. Get plastic caps from Walmart, 15 in a pack for a $1. Once you put the cap on use the hair dryer on the plastic cap (I have to because I have a resistant hair type) & wrap your head in a hot towel from the dryer for about 30 minutes. Make sure to apply A LOT to your ends because they are waaayyyy fried. I liked the silver tho.. so gorgeous.

  • @Annj97
    @Annj97 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    She should have did your roots before bleaching the ends to avoid the rinsing/bleeding into the blonde. You only need to use shimmer lights or any purple shampoo for blondes every 3rd shampoo, the rest of the times can be a regular shampoo(not head and shoulders though!), also using masks/keratin treatments too often can cause your hair to dry out as well, because too much Keratin can be bad for your hair. I am not trying to sound like a know-it-all, just offering my professional advice to help protect your hair and those beautiful curls! :-) It still looks great and the coconut spray is probably a good idea after your done washing. If you are able to, you only have to wash just the roots of your hair and condition the ends(where the bleach is) and you should be good. My favorite is "DAMAGE REPAIR PURE AFRICAN SHEA BUTTER NATURAL TREATMENT (16.9 FL. OZ. / 500 ML) BY SARYNA KEY"!

Not been to a salon in six or seven years!, usually I'm alright at doing it myself but definitely need help this time 🙃 hopefully I'll get what I want today 😕

    I'm pretty sure colour opps gives you a bag so you can cover your hair. I don't think foils work because the product needs to not be exposed to air and the bag helps retain body heat for the product to work. Just like bleach. I suggest if you use box products to follow and do all the steps given to you or you won't get the results you wanted. I get what you did with the foils, but for that product to work you needed to keep it away from the air and retain your body heat.

  • @mads4897
    @mads4897 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    The reason why the parts that are lighter went that light is because those are parts of your roots. That's the virgin hair that the bleach didn't need to fight through so it was easily lifted. The rest has been colored so it had to eat through the color before turning that blonde. All of these steps should have been done weeks apart, not days. Gotta give your hair a chance to heal and not break off. Also, with your hair being naturally curly, it is more prone to breakage so definitely be careful lightening. Use a weaker developer and wait in between lightening. Waiting will be well worth it to save your integrity, even if you aren't completely happy with the color. 😊

    Yeah I've had many different hair colors before and my last current hair color was a faded pinkish red . My natural hair color is like medium dark brown and my dads is too but he always shaves his off because I guess he just doesn't like hair . U probably should see a different hair stylist as usually a hair stylist would ask u what your full actual hair journey was like even from when u were younger because so many people dye there hair even at like as early as 12 years old now.

    • @jessicajohnson2269

      And once the hair stylist actually knows then u could proceed on to what u both think should be done and continued with your hair .And your hair stylist was like oops I messed up after combining those two colors together which would not fly with me, she half did her job . And then she told u basically right after the next day. Definitely not your money's worth.

      My mom had dyed her natural thin blonde hair black when she was like 16 and this was when they did not have all the advanced products for removing hair color like they do now.So she just bleached her hair then and there wasn't different levels of these products and there was no color oops then either. So when she did that she ended up with elastic hair that was greenish with orange patches and some brazzy orange blonde and her hair started falling out. Black is an harder color to remove than most even compared to dyed red hair .And color oops is actually only meant for red and or brazzy colors from range levels of colors like medium browns for colored hair or blondes or reds. It doesn't work as well on greens navy blue or straight pinks or an unnatural looking color .

    I can't believe she did your black roots, their already black and healthy she's ripped you off big style! This is why people are doing their own hair because hair salons are so expensive and then on top of that they rip you off!. Your hair looks nice now so that's the main thing. How many hours did you have to work to pay for your stylists to put your black roots in that didn't need doing. Your very pretty your curls are beautiful and you're naturally a very stunning girl.

    If you are still trying to lift the colour from our hair. I would suggest crushing up at least 10 vitamin c tablets just the plain white ones and mix it with your head and shoulders. Wet your hair and lather your hair with the mixture. Leave it in for an hour and the vitamin c should lift the dye out of your hair a couple levels. This has worked wonders for me! Just make sure you feel condition after because it's a little drying but no where near as damaging as bleach:)

    If you're still looking for lightening, using a creme lightener like zotos age beautiful with 10-20 vol will help clean your hair of toners and old dye, I just found this out this week. Then I use Wella's 050 1/2 bottle to 2oz of 10 vol developer, E's you a stronger toner for blondes that aren't quite to a level 9-10!

    The reason the black processed on the blonde was because she used warm water to shampoo your hair. When you have a dark colour at the root only cool water should be used to avoid that. Warm water allows the dark to stick to the blonde don't worry you'll be fine

      No it's not,idk why people say that. If you using it with bleach maybe but with a high lift it's how I do my hair always and it's so healthy,never bleach. Idk why anyone bleaches instead of using 40 developer and high lift dye. Really works better plus tones at same time.

    First, this isn’t meant to be rude but to be helpful. There are 2 reasons the Color Oops may not have worked for you. They are because it is for permanent dye, not Demi or semi. There are products out there for removing semi and/or Demi permanent hair dyes. And second because you need to wait a few more days, with a whole lot more shampooing (at least 2x a day, with a clarifying shampoo and as warm of water that you can handle, helps to open the hair shaft to release those dye molecules). Color Oops simply works to shrink the color molecules small enough to be able to be washed out (it’s not truly taking the color out itself, it’s only the conduit in which to help shrink the color molecules enough to be able to be washed out) what is going to remove those smaller now shrunken dye molecules is the repetitive use of the clarifying shampoo. Dying hair too soon after using a color remover will only swell those shrunken dark dye molecules that the “remover” had previously shrunk down, causing your hair to go back to being as dark as it was before.
    Understanding exactly what these things do will help you get the desired result you’re looking for. That’s why it’s recommended to go to a salon and let a professional do it. However, what’s most frustrating is that most hair stylists tend not to want to use hair color remover, they like to jump straight to bleach or bleach baths (because it’s quicker and most customers don’t want to wait as long as they really should to go from black to blonde, it should be done over months) and that will inevitably cause more damage. At least it will if you get the proper hair color remover for whatever you’ve dyed your hair with in the past, and do it right as explained above, it’ll be less damage to your hair to remove old color and then lighten with bleach. Which is precisely why people are doing this at home. Good try Maddi, next time for trying to repair damage, invest in a bottle of Olaplex 3 for treatments after over processing your hair. It’ll do wonders.
    And I don’t care what the box says, you should NOT dye or bleach your hair the same day as a color remover. That is just a recipe for disaster. They should remove that from their claims.
