@@EMAXUSA I really like using 155g 1300mah 4s on this quad (for the flight times and inertia), should I use the second tune, or is it more to compensate for the saturation of the front motors under the load of the gopro?
I also have this Babyhawk 2 hd, I agree Andy, it flies great ! I up the rates a less filtering, with moderate flight with some aerobatics I 7 to 9min flight times. This quad kicks ass ! It is the perfect size quad to fly at the parks, it is very quiet and does not draw attention from people .

Mine came with only 4 props! No extras! You can't get the props anywhere! It flies great though! Luckily I haven't broke a prop yet. I did find one other type of 3.5" props. I believe they are for the protech 35 cinewhoop possibly? I was able to order some of those. Not sure how the performance will be but it looks like I will soon find out.

I got mine last week and it only came with one set of props and all the US stores are of course, out of stock. But that was the least of my problems. About 100 yards into my maiden flight I got the death spiral which broke the casing on the antenna. Fortunately, I bought it at RDQ and they agreed to replace it right away. They even sent a pre-paid shipping return label. I’m hoping it was just a bad apple of the bunch because I asked for a replacement unit instead of a store credit. Hope my new unit comes with more props. Great review, as usual, thanks.
I bought the FRYSKY version because it’s the only one available when I fully intended to use the DJI system. I asked before buying it I could just remove the FRSKY receiver and use the DJI one without wiring and they said yes. Like you I realized the vista board wasn’t wired so i also had to re solder it, and I suck as soldering .....hope it holds! Other then that, it’s a great quad that flies excellently!
Hi Andy, I just received my Babyhawk. I have exactly the same problem - it doesn't react to my radio's input on Betaflight. Unfortunately your soldering is not so thoroughly described in the video. Could you pls help me and tell me how .....
I removed the D8 rx this morning and took the ground wire from the Vista over to the ground on the uart2 ground of the fc. I then soldered a wire from the sbus of the Vista to the sbus pad on the fc. I then changed the ports to exactly how you had your setup and I still can't get my v1 dji controller to work in the rx tab of betaflight. The tx and Vista are bound together. Any suggestions?
Definitely couldn't find any so far but HQ props did recently push out a bunch of 3.5 and I snagged a couple of those even though I haven't had to use them yet! Fun little drone, the range was pretty impressive to me and but I did have it on 700mw. No need to push it any higher around the local parks even with tons of trees.
Im a noob to dji , I have a brand new dji fpv v1 goggles which i couldn't activate. I didn't know that i had to activate the caddx vista as well. I binded goggles to the vista prior to trying to activate the googles. The binding worked but in the goggles it said to activate them. Do you think the issue was because i didnt activate the caddx or is that irrelevant to activating the goggles?
no spares came with mine, just the 4 props in the box, none of those troubles you had with the wiring thankfully but isnt it an amazing little quad, i find myself taking it out over my 5" quads just because its so quiet and small like you said it just doesnt bother the soft targets at all
have you flown the alpha a85 hd? thinking of buying that one or babyhawk 2 HD, but leaning towards the babyhawk, only heard good things.. need some kind of prop guard protection for indoor flying though as im not that good

Got mine setup this morning but, I had to order a babyhawk with the D8 rx just to get a babyhawk, and that's fine I do have an x9d+ which I got all setup and bound to my dji v1 goggles and x9d to the babyhawk this morning. But I would like to get rid of the d8 and just bind the vista to my dji v1 controller and goggles to go that route. I just don't know if I'll need to cross the tx and rx wires from the Vista to the flight controller. Can someone give me the details on what wire needs to go where please? Thanks
I just got my second BabyHawk 2 PNP in. My first PNP unit works great, but it looks like my second PNP is missing the same SBUS wire on the Vista yours was . Any advice as I have zero experience building

Hi can someone please help me? I just ordered the babyhawk 2 after watching this video but the only option that was left was with the FrSky D8 transmitter. I plan on using the dji remote and goggles which I believe connect strait to the vista. Will it still work with the D8 transmitter? I'm assuming I can just take that part out right? Thanks in advance
Scimitar 3.5" props have existed for years. I've got some from at least 12 months ago. They were the first I saw to do the t-mount with separate insert for t-mount or 5mm on the same prop.

I ordered my Emax BabyHawk2 HD on March 15 / delivered on March 18 (great speed) -- but I only received one set of props. Knowing it was likely the props would be the first thing damaged, I ordered a few extra sets which were delivered at the end of March. The quad flies excellently.
Just picked up a 2nd incase I bash my first to bits. Be prepared to change your radio channel mapping in BetaFlight! Zip tying the battery leads to the bottom frame is a good idea too
Got no spare props with mine but did buy some from unmanned tech at the same time. Absolutely love how well mine flies (only flew 5 inch before). It even flies great on my old 1550mah batteries so they aren't going to waste. I get almost 20minute flight out of a 3000mah lion pack. 😀

Looks really nice and also sturdy. I think part of the secret to long flight times are the props. Emax don't always make the most durable props but all of them are very quiet and efficient. That being said I am not sure if we really needed a prop size inbetween 3" and 4". They should have just made the rear arms 7mm wider.
Great review Andy. This would be a great entry into DJI digital FPV if you could buy the V2 goggles anywhere! I'm hoping that after a while, the V2 goggles and V2 controller will support the Caddx air units.
I'd choose the Flywoo Explorer LR4. The AIO on the babyhawk doesn’t have a spare UART for connecting a GPS, which is in my opinion a no-go for long range

As a new person to fpv I didn’t even bother with tango 2, tx16s, or any other multi protocol capable radios, just straight to dji remote, dji goggles and nazgul 5hd. I don’t have a fleet to transfer, or any preferences, or any skills, and in 2 years we will have something like mobula6 on dji hd; multi protocol radios sure do have a lot of cool features, but for heavy freestyle (not as heavy as mr steele style lol) and 2-3km long range dji ecosystem is perfect solution with very easy setup
Thanks for posting Dude. I always appreciate your reviews. I was thinking about building one from spares for either shark byte or analog. I ended up posting on the rcgroups.com thread on this copter to get some measurements, but while I was there I noticed someone else struggling with setting it up on the DJI controller, so I linked your video over there (www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?3851649-EMAX-BabyHawk-HD-2/page2) as I think this video may sort him out. Hey while I am here commenting anyway, do you mind checking those 4" props again, this time use one front and one back and let me know if they hit each other. Also, based on your experience do you think this would suit the Shark Byte 5.1s over the top of the FC? Looks like I would need to move the capacitor, and it seems like there would be ~10mm between the boards and ~10mm from the SB 5.1s to the top plate. I've been thinking about getting into shark byte since it released but not sure what I would put it in. Seems I am itching for a new build, hadn't built anything since 2019. I've been loving the deadcat designs to keep the props out of the camera view. Anyway, thanks again sorry about the long comment.
AND................ $23 minimum shipping cost from EMax? For maybe a 20 day supply delay? Their having a laugh!! Not acceptable EMax, either provide spares in pack or ensure they are available in country of sale (UK) at the same time. I have had four previous EMax models, this is likely my last, and I will not recommend it on that alone, no matter how good it flies.
I´ve just received mine...its a 4" Long range set up in a freestyle frame.... but lacks real power for freestyle!! I think it's only a cruising drone👎🏻

This is the kind of thing that dampens my interest in dji.

When I plug my drone again after activating I do not see the folder “system volume information” is that ok? Can I still make the text file ?

I got those motors since a while now. On 2S and 3S they’re very docile and linear. Would be good for ciné stuff.

It's hard not to say ANY 3", let alone a 3.5", is gonna be better than a 2.5". So much more propeller, for so much more handling and speed.

No spare props with mine & a mini immortal T for Crossfire which is as bad as D8....binned after 1 lipo and replaced with a proper antenna.

Jebus... €384 in Sweden for the TBS version. I can get a nice 5" for that money.
But this is for when you want a quad with no remote ID due to sub 250g unlike a 5” quad

Give it less filtering, I have very little prop wash ripping this quad around. This quad kicks ass !
Thanks for posting Dude. I always appreciate your reviews. I was thinking about building one from spares for either shark byte or analog. I ended up posting on the rcgroups.com thread on this copter to get some measurements, but while I was there I noticed someone else struggling with setting it up on the DJI controller, so I linked your video over there (www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?3851649-EMAX-BabyHawk-HD-2/page2) as I think this video may sort him out. Hey while I am here commenting anyway, do you mind checking those 4" props again, this time use one front and one back and let me know if they hit each other. Also, based on your experience do you think this would suit the Shark Byte 5.1s over the top of the FC? Looks like I would need to move the capacitor, and it seems like there would be ~10mm between the boards and ~10mm from the SB 5.1s to the top plate. I've been thinking about getting into shark byte since it released but not sure what I would put it in. Seems I am itching for a new build, hadn't built anything since 2019. I've been loving the deadcat designs to keep the props out of the camera view. Anyway, thanks again sorry about the long comment.

I bought, NO spare props, everywhere zero at the time. But then I don't have the Goggles yet as backorder.
AND................ $23 minimum shipping cost from EMax? For maybe a 20 day supply delay? Their having a laugh!! Not acceptable EMax, either provide spares in pack or ensure they are available in country of sale (UK) at the same time. I have had four previous EMax models, this is likely my last, and I will not recommend it on that alone, no matter how good it flies.
I´ve just received mine...its a 4" Long range set up in a freestyle frame.... but lacks real power for freestyle!! I think it's only a cruising drone👎🏻
