    Glad to hear that Kaapo understands that his skating has to improve. Last summer he hit the weight room hard; this year he needs to give Laura Stamm a call.

    He’s only 22. He has the physicality and puck control to rock in the playoffs but we need production out of him and consistency with his physicality.

    His game translates well to the style in playoffs - possession, cycle, o-zone time. Can't finish at allllll though. Tough call for Drury.

      Not a tough call. Resign KK to two-year deal. Most power forwards do not materialize until their middle twenties.

      Chytil took time to develop too. Can’t give up on Kakko, he’s got the intangibles and he’s still young. Work on his shot and getting to the front of the net. Kakko and Chytil are a good pair too. Kakko was stuck on a makeshift third line.

      agree, at this point the Mika/Kreids combo is the real problem, no one has worked with them, if you can´t see this you are blind.

      I think so too. I can't imagine getting much value out of shipping him off and he's not terrible on the 3rd line. Just needs someone who's better at finishing to help the line produce

    I dont think we should be calling him a bust yet. I think he should get another year.

    • @robbrown4621
      @robbrown4621 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Man, this is a really hard call.
      Question is if Drury does bring him back, will the pressure be too great on Kakko to produce what he needs to create next year? My gut feeling is that he might be better off on a non-contender so that he gets more ice time and can develop with much less spotlight on him. Perhaps it would be best for Kakko if he goes to Utah or Columbus to play.
      This being said, the Rangers still desperately need at least one right winger and they'll need two if Kakko is traded.
      On the other hand, if Kakko somehow could become the right winger we need, he will truly fill a glaring hole in this team.

    • @seanburns2669

      If they pair him with Chytil those two always play well together. Here's hoping that he has the kind of break out season that Laffy just had.

  • @nyr4life
    @nyr4life 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    Kaapo Kakko is honestly the toughest call for me. He is young and has a ton of potential, however he just never produced and I wonder if moving on from him would help the Rangers and him.

  • @benmitchner2172
    @benmitchner2172 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Kakko is really taking this to heart and this was tough to watch. I still believe in him and he's still really young, but anyone blaming him for the losses is wrong including himself. It took Laffy time to be really good and if we stick with Kaapo and give him a chance he'll be really good for us. I like him.

      @@iiiiii1449 There is quite a few, even star status, players on the league that cant produce by them selfs. Finding the right line combination is normal team sport operation. Yes the player needs to do the work, but at the end of the day this is still a team sport. But I have no problem moving him, but I also think its not gonna look good after a couple of years, specially if there is no cup in NY at that point.
