Nah it was most likely a carp. There’s enormous carp there. Caught one on a spinner and I saw him clear as day and he broke off before I could land him.
Have you ever tried fly fishing ? I think it’s a whole different feeling especially when you hook a tank. And that fish you caught @5:18 was certainly a carp. I’ve caught 2 giants there and even the guide told me there’s bigger ones lurking there. And I was using carp flies. I recommend you try it because I prefer it over spin fishing 👌
Yeah those are some of the biggest brookies Ive seen around here. Hopefully we get a few more lakes holding that kind of quality in the sierras some day
Great video Rob. You guys are funny about the lake with the Golden trout. You never want to say the name. When Estevan went up there last year and wouldn't say the name. I spent an entire afternoon searching Google maps against video images and topography. I finally found it. Come to find out later a shop has it listed right there on there website. Great fishing. I don't see some of the minnow colors listed that you called out. Thanks again.
Oh man, I was soooo waiting to see that East Walker river monster. Did you ever catch a glimpse of it? It could have been Brownzilla!!....never mind, you answered my ? after I posted the comment. God Bless!
Thats a definitely interesting spot as the carp will hit jigs and minnows so it always takes some time to figure out if its a monster trout or just a carp haha
@SeaSpankerOutdoors jog. Actually from Bishop south, there's pretty good carp fishing, if a guy was to target them.Klondike,in Big Pine has huge carp in it.
Yeah we were there first thing in the morning. They had a big fish kill when the lake froze in the winter-so the fishing can be real hit and miss up there now.

Another great video! Thanks for the effort you put into producing these videos, I really enjoy them.
I appreciate that, thanks for watching 🙏
I liked this video the best. Nice to see your techniques and lures working for the natural non planters. That Walker fish was a big brown for sure.

I have indeed tried it and it was alot of fun. I intend to do more of it in the future 🤘
Agreed. It was a carp. They'll take you for a ride at the Walker.
@@timeves6012 yup. Carp don’t do a lot of head shakes like trout, they mostly use their shoulders so it feels like you have a log.
You guys have great attitudes about losing fish! I get pissed. Good for you guys
we definitely try to stay cool about it but its not easy at times haha.
Love the videos keep it up, learned a lot from your videos
Thanks for watching 🙏
Good job man nice fishing 🎣
great video great catches !!
Thanks Lee
That was a beautiful brook trout and the colors were vibrant. Those lower altitude lakes seem to put out larger brookies than higher altitude lakes.

Haha yeah thats how i found the lake originally, internet research. If the baits aren’t on the site currently they will be very soon
Awesome video bro tight lines 👍
Thank you 🙏
Great video!! Ive caught brookies at Lake Mary but it was a baby compared to the monster you caught.

What’s the name of the song at 2:00??? I’ve been looking for it everywhere. Awesome videos 🌲
No worries its Craniums by Pearce Roswell. I believe all the music on this one is Pearce Roswell as well
@@SeaSpankerOutdoors hell yea thank you
Thinking the one that got off was a big carp. Had one break me off in the same area and soon after caught a 24 inch carp on a jig. Good fight though.
Yeah Id have to agree. It was alot of fun for sure haha
I’m heading up to that last lake this weekend. I understand there was a big winter kill last winter. how was the fishing?
It was decent. There are still alot of fish in the water just nowhere near as good as last season
I caught a 20lb or so,carp out of PV reservoir, on a slow rolled kastmaster.
Crazy. Definitely not what youd expect fishing up there haha

@@JEM133 that would make an interesting video
You guys fished the last lake in the early morning? I fished there late July for 3 hour in the morning and got skunked, lol.
Yeah we were there first thing in the morning. They had a big fish kill when the lake froze in the winter-so the fishing can be real hit and miss up there now.
