- I absolutely NEED to get this out of my system and rant for 12 minutes straight about how the premiere of Season 6 of Miraculous Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir is assassinating Marinette's character and all forms of character development she had with it in BROAD DAYLIGHT!!!

Honestly speaking Marinette never had character development and the finale of s5 fully brings light to that because she didn’t make good decisions as a hero, instead she trusted Gabriel when the world was at stake and is now lying to Adrien about everything.
It feels like the series doesn’t want Marinette to learn from her actions so they enable what she does.
If Chloe can be called out and face the consequences why can’t Marinette and Gabriel face those consequences too?
I have a theory that it will all be crashing down on marinate at the end because Lila is acumatizing people who were in some shape our from upset with marinate
Imagine what if at some point Lila show some recording of mari being the bad guy like mari did with her😶😶😶

That’s her fault. Her own choice. I’m just waiting for her to be exposed for what she did in the season 5 finale. I don’t care for her happiness.

Agreed, Marinette having the same problems and never learning the same lesson is frustrating and dull. There really isn’t anything new she can learn? I mean she’s only 16. There’s plenty she can learn lol. Why does this show keep writing her as a teenager stuck in a time loop? We don’t need new characters, what we need is new conflicts, new lessons. The Evillustrator one was a missed opportunity for Marinette and Adrien to learn some new things about each other, is that not what a date is? I have a feeling that they’re too afraid to give civilian Adrien an actual personality, quirks because he’s supposed to be “perfect”, like he is in Marinette’s head. That’s kind of messed up if you think about it. Remember that one episode when he bumped his head on a car door? I want more of that. Who the heck just shrugs off being ghosted for hours?? It’s not realistic. You want to tell me a 16 year old boy is that confident and secure that it wouldn’t affect him at all? Come on. Such a missed opportunity for a little drama/conflict. If they wrote them like actual teenagers, the drama would write itself.
My teenage years I was always told that straight people have to get married and have a family otherwise they're gay, bisexual, or pansexual, and after communicating with the Incel community and One Piece community I now realize that's completely false, so the fact that Adrien isn't going through those same conflicts is one of many many reasons I'm not watching this series at all.

I just want Adrien to marry and have a family with Chloe instead of having a relationship with a creepy stalker because it'd be like if Sonic got married to Amy Rose and had a family with her.
I literally had to skip through this episode because Marinette was irritating me so much. What's the point of having your main character learn a lesson if you're literally going to make them forget it in the next episode? This episode is proof that the show can't function without constantly destroying the development of their characters. Do something DIFFERENT. LET THEM GROW.

The thing is, Chloe was Conpletely squashed by the narrative. Marinette gets totally enabled. Yeah she apologizes, but she doesn't admit that she acted out of jealousy regarding Adrien. And Sublime wasn't even mad, even when she had every reason too
@@TheGreenThunder1607 an apology is sometimes empty gestures to escape responsibility and for most of the time, a stalkers manipulation. That’s why I roll my eyes whenever Marinette apologizes. It’s just another empty gesture from her or a manipulation tactic because she knows she’ll be forgiven so easily because she’s marientte. They say her character is “ruined” but that’s implying that she was never messed up to begin with.
This show is the saying “putting lipstick on a pig”; this show might have a new art style/glow up but the writing/story is still horrible.
I have learned that ML is just a good concept, but can’t stand on its own with its current state. I will only ever watch reviews of this show now because it’s only worth that.
I also fell out of love with the love square so long ago that I was so mad that they are together. Nobody should have wanted this couple. I might love yandere tropes but at least the main guy knows that his love interest is crazy. This is just a sad wash out version of that trope along with the couple heroes not knowing who they are. Sailor Moon does it way better. Need Adrien to wake up and date someone, anyone else (I would love him with Luka but that’s my shipper heart lol I’m sure there is someone else that others would love more).
But yeah, never felt Mari had character growth or maybe deep down I knew it was never going to evolve. Good to know the fans are the only ones making the fandom worth wild.

Just to be clear I am not a Marinette stan/hater, but the signs are there.
Not resting until her enemy is dealt with, over thinking everything, her lying for the greater good (she feels compelled to lie even when it is unnecessary aka the Shanghai special), she is narcissistic as noboby teaches her right from wrong and thinks she is acting quirky when in reality Mari can not fathom the idea of being in the wrong and refuses to accept or see her own faults unless the plot demands it, and not to mention she is a massive hypocrite.
I.e., she tells a person not to do something, when she clearly does it herself.
Like, Mari realizing Alya's saved photos of Adrien and calling her out for them while she too has pictures of him in her room or her calling Lila out for lying when she too lies to protect her friends and family.
Yes, Peter Parker lies, but you don't hear him calling other villains out for lying every other minute.
Like, when Eddie Brock becomes Venom Peter doesn't call him out for lying to MJ as he too lies to her when he needs to, thus he would be a hypocrite.
Unlike Mari, Peter actually learns from his mistakes and sets things, right.
Think him learning from Uncle Ben's death, him and Harry's lost friendship, his webbed love life, the death of Gwen Stacy - you can't save everyone, and not losing sight of one's self and personal needs in Spider-Man 2 (self care) etc.
I really wanted to see what happens in season 6 with Adrien and Natalie, and how adriens life is with Natalie, I also wanted to see what happens in school. BUT IN EVERY EPISODE everything resets like it’s a brand new day about whatever’s happening and someone gets akumatized, LIKE CAN WE PLEASE SEE THEM EXPERIENCE HIGHSCHOOL

I'll be honest, even I can't stand Marinette's behavior in s6. For me she acts even more childish then ever. I get it that she now has lots of problems and keeps big secret but tbh, that was her choice to trust Gabriel (who's literally a monster, child abuser and nearly started WW3). What made her think someone like him will change just like that? She believes Chloe won't change, what's her excuse to trust Gabriel after everything he did? I still think she should tell Adrien the truth about him and then let him decide if it's okay to reveal this to everyone. It's his father we're talking about so that is his choice to reveal this to public or not. I think that would make things easier for her. I think what's also Marinette's problem is that she has to learn same lesson over and over again.

The most likely reason why she had hope for Gabriel is because of meeting “Better-fly” in the Paris special. It was implied that despite the existence of a “reverse” world, Chloe remains the same. So this enforces the idea that antagonists like Gabriel have a chance to change, but Chloe is rotten to the core.

I’m one of those who left at the beginning of Season 5 because I was so tired. The finale I was hearing about and the premiere of Season 6, despite those redesigns LOL, intrigued me, but now I’m thinking it’s better if I just stay out XD

I noticed the first episode Marinette was so nervous around Adrien the whole time. But she wasn’t like that at all in the end of season 5. Kinda disappointed from the inconsistency and how she’s just pure cringe now.
She isnt Cloe, choe had a toxic emvironment to grow up in, she had reasons, she did actually learn that till she got charactrer assasinated.
Marinette never does. Also Chloe never stalked Adrien. Thats not her giving Choes flaws as Chloes flaws were till she got character assasinated written like a mean girl from a toxic environment learning to be less so gradual.
I would respect if Marinette did actually openly show her mean girl persona, but she doesnt. Also thats no new from her, hell i even could get that, if Adrien would just break up as she is as toxic as ever.

Season 4 and 5 is where I left. I came back because of the special with shadybug and claw noir but everything in the been going down hill.
The only reason I occasionally watch is because of Alya and Nino. (Im still mad they never had Alya apologize to Mari)
I've also been saying the writing been bad since them assinating Chloes character, then it was Alya and now it's with Marinette.
Especially with Marinette let a pass with Kim and Sabrina being a part of what caused her trauma. Like she acts as if the prank was only Chloe like yes she pushed for it but the other two were involved and Kim still found it funny.
They make issues or things to push you not to like the characters but gloss over and ignore so much for years like Chloes dad took no accountability to how Chloe was raised and adopted a kid he didn't raise or know for that wrong and they want us to think he's a good person.💀
This show needed new writers for a while because it keeps digging its own grave with the justification of it being a kids show.

I think this is simply the authors thinking "this is SO funny, our main character is so quirky".

I actually severely disagree. She often reverted and has very extreme anxiety issues while still being confident with certain situations which is realistic. Suddenly having things together wouldn't feel like growth to me but rather making her more of a mary sue. The show is doing exactly what you always asked and pointed out though they aren't throwing us in the deep end. They are giving her consequences to her actions.

God they're just handing the show out to make it longer than it should have been Marinette and Adrian can't be a full couple yet because that's the end game. Show writers have to make her sabotage her own relationship to make the show last longer and tell the audience this is why they're not ready to be fully together. So yes they're doing character assassinations because I think they want this to last up to 12 seasons. Which is too long for a kid show.
The fact that everyone around her, even the mythical fricking god tells her twice in BOTH episodes that "hey.. your being kinda wack dude you don't have to be a stalker.. or ladybug to do this right.." and yet she ignores tiki and her best friend in both episodes

Nope she is just a plot device at this point. For marinette character I think.
Problem with getting rid of chloe: love her or hate her, she was an instigator for the episode. A minor antagonist to keep things moving, and one of the most fleshed out characters in the show.
Getting rid of her so late, got rid of an important dynamic in the show. Where Choloe would do something, Marinette would react, and then the plot could commence.
They never bothered to develop the rest of the caste, nor make the story develop more maturely so other plot points could go. So now, once again its the Marinette show. Where everything resolves around her, but with no one to help instigate everything.
So without the minor antagonist, and not willing to oppose Marinette in any way, its she who must instigate/ cause problems in the roll that Chloe used to fill.
This problem was self inflicted because they made the world resolve around Marinette. Once they did that there was no space for other characters to have different/ interesting rolls to challeng her. So asides from the big villain, Marinette is surrounded by a bunch of "yes men" and therefor, must cause problems she can fix to keep the show going.

in the beginning I found it funny how she reacted around Adrien but that also got annoying after some time

What was there to miss? They gave Zoey a crush and did nothing with it. Heck they didn't even let Zoey feel sketchy about ladybug treatment if chloe to counter balance the crush on mari to mahe it interesting. Zoey just one of the few mari didn't act weird around after turning Zoey down....mostly because the show never uses chloe.

There are no words to describe how disappointed in Marinette I was this episode.
I swear there were boundaries crossed in this episode.
I love Marinette but even I can't tell what exactly they're trying to do with her character.
One moment she grows and the next we're back to step zero.
Also, I don't know why but Marinette's apology to Sublime didn't seem as genuine as she usually is. Her body language made it seem like she's saying sorry for the sake of it but not because she means it even though she does.
Plus, is it me or does Alya look like she's regretting humoring Marinette's past shenanigans that CLEARLY required therapy?
As for the mystery figure in *Sublimation* , I don't think it was Lila/Chrysalis this time because their hand looked bigger than the one in *IllustrHater* and the body build looked bigger, broader and more masculine.
So this could be a hint that Someone or Some people are helping Lila by either stalking Marinette for her or observing battles for certain details about the heroes.
Marinette kind of reminds me of sailor moon, but it's kind of annoying in season 6 !

I like what they did with Marinette in the Illustrhater episode, showing us that after you actually start your love relationship, it's hard to find a personalized defining body/gesture language between you and your lover, but the Sublimation episode made me lose it. Her behaviour is beyond comprehension and it's carried on for HALF OF THE EPISODE. Watching 10 whole minutes of marinette trying the most random things just to make friends with the girl that is next to her boyfriend is just too much. I hope and pray this is the last time we're going to see this. I am more interested in seeing the situation from Adrien's perspective, since we all know what happened in season 5. I am curious to see the new dynamic between characters, as well as new upgrades for the main two. If we're going to start all the episodes in Marinette's room the whole season, I will be so annoyed, it's like only SHE has troubles. I'm not hating on her, I am just spreading my concerns about her character and hope they don't escalate.
I don't know about you guys, but I actually found it quite relatable. Not the stalking part that's unforgivable. I personally struggle with talking to new people and find the easiest course of action to take is helping them one way or another.
@@muichirotokito5624 , I have Aspergers, so there are times in my texts it seems that I'm not speaking proper English, so if this cartoon had an episode where Marinette isn't typing perfectly I'd watch that, but otherwise I relate to the Zoro or Luffy more as a characters.
I think its because shes doubting herself so much, because she is still not sure if she made the right choice keeping that secret away from him and she is panicking plus she has trauma (gabriel fight, chat blanc, and although its kinda a recon but trauma from chloe) low-self esteem, stress, and axienty. I think they will explore the darker side of mari i mean i am here for it.
I wonder if Marionette character is written in this way because writer wanted to show the real life stalker's mentality.
But that's just me expecting too much from this kid's show.

Nah because this is not the s5 Marinette. I believe she had a character development in most s5 episodes (for me, she was mature in most s5 eps), which was thrown away when she trusted Gabriel (if you think Chloe can't change, then Gabriel won't change either + compared to what Gabriel did, Chloe's shenanigans are almost trivial). Also, I get Marinette's actions in Illustrhater but why only now? They are already together in like mid-s5 and she didn't act like this? Don't throw the "oh because shes carrying his father's secret" bs on me because I don't feel like that's the reason at all. Sorry, this is not the s5 and London special Marinette. After seeing Sublimation, I refuse to believe that's the same character. But who am I to be surprised? I've already been in this fandom since s2 and since s3 I already witnessed questionable writing choices in some eps. Based on these 2 eps we got, it's like s1 Mari all over again... bruh when will the writters be consistent?

If you're tired of Miraculous, stop watching it. Nobody is forcing you to watch... It's the mechanics of the show that are like that, the "villain of the week" format, with episodes that can be watched out of order, and a narrative structure that repeats itself in each episode. As for Marinette, she has always been this goofy character in everything that concerns Adrien, but also with her serious moments when necessary. I think you're overreacting, you're putting too much affection into what is only a cartoon, a kid show.
There are lots of shows for kids that are good quality. People are saying this but MLP is a show intended for a much younger demographic, but had more depth and better writing than this. Kids deserve good content to consume as well
@mahlicaajaib5231 , I fell out of love with Owl House and Meta Runner, so I have recommend those series to anyone, and the only series I like as much as One Piece so far are Invincible, The Amazing Digital Circus, and Hazbin Hotel.
