Haha, while watching Suspiria about an hour ago I laughed out loud about the bat scene, there was no way that the "bat clip" wasn't gonna be included. Also Matt's nightmare story made me really excited about the the upcoming reaction to the scene.
I laugh every time it makes an appearance. So great XD

I can appreciate Craig seeing both Gremlins and Ghostbusters the same week they opened as I enjoyed the same experience during the summer of 1982, which was an unbelievable stretch of classic movies all released within the same 3 month period almost all of which I saw the week they opened. My favorite personal viewing was to see The Thing and Blade Runner on the day they were both released at a double feature at the local drive in. That summer completely spoiled me but I loved it!

From Wikipedia: "In the Suspiria: 25th Anniversary documentary, Harper commented on the fact that while making Suspiria, as was common practice in Italian filmmaking at the time, the actors' dialogue was not properly recorded, but was later dubbed through ADR,
or additional dialogue recording. She also recalled that part of the reason for this was because each actor spoke their native language (for instance, Harper, Valli, and Bennett spoke English; Casini, Valli, and Bucci spoke Italian; and several others spoke German), and as each actor generally knew what the other was saying anyway, they each responded with their lines as if they had understood the other. Argento also expressed disappointment over the fact that Harper's voice, which he liked, was not heard in the Italian market as she was dubbed in Italian by another actress."

My guitar teacher gave this to me to watch this years ago because he was a huge B horror buff. I think I returned it then asked him never to lend me a movie again.

Out of the Three Sisters movies (Suspiria, Deep Red and Inferno), Inferno is my personal favorite. Despite Suspiria being more popular, Inferno is better made, more coherent and a far more solidly directed movie than the first. Plus the ending is just a freaking GANGBUSTER of an ending.
Better than "Deep Red"? That's hard to believe. I'll have to investigate further.

I had to watch Suspiria for my Evolution of the Horror Film Class. While I was watching on my laptop at my desk in the dorm room, my friend yelped so I had to turn around to see what was wrong. She said that she saw maggots in the movie I was watching. I thought she was kidding so I had to go back a couple seconds in the film. Then, there was the maggot scene.
Suspiria, along with many horror films I had to watch in this class made quite an impact. I found Suspiria such a beautiful film with an amazing soundtrack. I really like the beginning a lot due to the architecture and color. It's hard to believe that such a building exist to me. I don't find Suspiria scary, but more creepy. The first viewing was a lot to take in. After watching it a couple more times, I picked up more audio cues as well. To be honest, I didn't hear the word, witch, in the beginning. I was more distracted by the visuals.

Seen it: How about an Australian film, The Dish? A nice (mostly true) movie about Australians involvement in the moon landing, I highly recommend it.

It seem to work in its favor for the movie their trying to make. It actually seems a lot closer to Possessions (1981).

i'm worried about the remake cuz it stars Chloe Grace-Moretz. i don't find her to be a bad actress, nor do i think everything she does sucks, but she played Carrie in the remake.....which wasn't bad, just forgettable. i'm waiting for any remake of any kind to really hold weight and do something original that is NOT directed by Rob Zombie.
it would be so disappointing if Get Out was a fluke, and not the new standard for quality.

Again, I will interpret your dream: A big party with lots of people= the show with the viewing audience, something in a box= uncertainty about what to expect, biting your finger= fear of your doing a bad job at writing (the episode), biting your neck could either be anticipating a good horror episode (cuz that's good in horror films) or fear of episode death, biting your crotch could be fear of emasculation by a bad job or you needed to pee.
How can Craig NOT hear Footloose?
Matt, do you know the guys from redlettermedia? They are filmmakers based in Milwaukee and mostly known for their Plinkett reviews and "Half in the Bag" film review show. You should join them on their "Best of the Worst" show where they watch good bad movies. It would be hilarious.

'Deep Red' is waaaay better!! amazing soundtrack. Tenebrae and The Bird with the Crystal plumage are also great.
Nico DeJaVu ok, I respect your opinion. But profondo Rosso has an epic Goblin soundtrack, actual funny moments, plot twists, is genuinely creepy, and doesn't overuse a gimmick like the pins taped to the eyes in Opera, basically a more balanced movie than most of Argentos stuff.
I agree with Mr. Triptik. I don't think the DVD of Suspiria I saw was a very good presentation of the film, but even so, I think I prefer the plot and execution of Deep Red, as good as Suspiria might be.
Have you guys seen Highrise with Tom Hiddleston? it was personally a huge let down.

Also, I have asked this a couple times before, but, I know Matts affinity for rockumentaries, have you seen "Such Hawks, Such Hounds"? it is a great look into a very unknown genre of music. Think Kyuss (which basically became Queens of the Stone Age)
The Suspiria “remake” is very good. It’s definitely based on a similar premise, but really does it’s own thing and is far better than you expect it to be.
The last time I was this early, I bumped into myself leaving the cinema.

That really is a very frightening impression Matt does at the beginning of the show, he should break that character loose from it's original inspiration and develop some sketches about a vet/serial killer.

Poltergeist and E.T.- June 4th and June 11th 1982 respectively. Two amazing Spielberg projects back to back, both completely different in tone and subject, but still sort of complimentary of one another. That was better than Gremlins/Ghostbusters
I think the real reason why the characters just vanish is because... they themselves are dead, killed by the witches and used as a tool to control the two characters. I don't know about this, so what do you think of this explanation?
