You have a lovely family. It seem so much fun. I only play on my phone. It seems so much different on tiles. I could sit with them all day. I remember playing dominoes with my parents. Just video brought back some many family memebers.
I love playing mahjong with the family, we could spend HOURs upon Hours upon Hours playing this game. Just yesterday I swindled them all and came up $60.00, lol. Not a handpay, but certainly a fun time to have find with family.

Shoot with my luck lately anything would be cheaper than the casino...lol. The game seemed like poker meets scrabble meets yahtzee. I could tell your family is very competitive and they came to win. Thanks Mr. Blair, the game plays very similar to Gin Rummy, except with tiles. We don't play when it comes to mahjong, especially during family gatherings. We had 2 tables playing just on Saturday during my nephews birthday party, LOL. It is defintely cheaper than the casino, but it really depends who you play with, some folks can lose hundreds and even thousands of dollars on this game, depending on what pay structure you all decide on in the beginning of the game. The proper term for balls is "circles." (ex. Six circles) Character tiles are called "crack" sometimes. (ex. eight crack) The Filipino game is almost the same as the Japanese except for the number of tiles used at the outset (16 v. 13).

"Sticks" are called BAMBOOS, "Balls" are called DOTS or CIRCLES. That's what they really call them.

LOL, I think it really depends on what comes out in the first 2-3 rotations, or first 2 of your bunots. 85% is Luck of the tiles you receive, 15% is skill.

I wanted to learn this but I'm too slow...I remember my dad used to play this at the majongan lels until the wee hours in the morning. I don't see people in my place playing mahjong. I also don't see younger generation play this game.
