- Watch how to easily wire in a power cord to your new dishwasher. When I recently purchased a new unit, I was surprised that it did not come with a standard three-prong power cord. I had to purchase this separately. I was aware that this needs to be done for new electric ranges, but didn't realize the same applies to new dishwashers. This is because there are different ways to connect the appliance to your home electrical system. Some dishwashers can be hard-wired directly into the electrical system. This video shows how to simply connect a standard UL-listed power cord, which can connect to a plug-in outlet.

Would this wave the manufacturer's warranty? I've got to this link as I was reading how dishwashers with power cord are more prone to fire hazard. Not challenging, just trying to get more info. Thanks
If in doubt, I would always recommend utilizing the services of a licensed electrician. This is a pretty simple straightforward procedure. Ensure that you order the correct power cord or purchase it at the time you purchase the dishwasher unit.
My ground wire doesn't have the connector at the end. It is just wire. Do I need the connector?
Not at all, you can loop the end of the bare wire around the screw and tighten that down firmly.
How do you know how to hookupwhen there is 2 Grey wires
If both wires are the same color, the smooth wire is the hot wire, the wire with the grooves or ribbing or marking is the neutral wire. Are you talking about the power cord itself, or the wiring pre-existing in the machine?
@@AndyMahnFL411 power cord is grey, sometimes. Wire inside dishwasher is black white and green
The larger wire or terminal into the outlet is common or white, on the left side of the 3 wire connector

Do u think the power cords are interchangeable? I mean 15 Amp cords area all the same - Right? I have a 2020 Hisense dish washer..
