Putting a chest of sorrows on the skeleton boats is another method to guarantee a kill. (Provided you get lucky enough to find one)

Chest of Sorrow be low key dirty. They cant bail all the water! Not sure about you though but I barely see that chest anymore :(
Best was is to kill skeleton captains for orders. My mate and I were stacking captain stash voyages and we found a few from skeleton orders

I never see this said anywhere, but throw fire bombs on the top deck to prevent skeletons from using the cannons. They just keep responding and almost immediately dying to the fire before they can never pop off a shot.
You said that either you love or hate this event: to me it's both 100%.
Unfortunatly this event is very RNG heavy. I've done this event solo many times, sometimes it was a breeze due to garbage AI, sheer luck and galleons sinking in 20 cannon balls, other times I had 2 galleons spawn in the first wave which would just not sink, got hit by perfect cannon shots at any distance, got one-ball you (and sunk while respawning) or hit with any unlucky combination of anchorball or jig/wearyball which can end you anytime.
The only positive about it is that since season 7 it is almost impossible to get thrown overboard by cannon fire, which also generally results in a sunk ship.
I personally wouldn't raccomend this event to new players given how unfair it can get, however the bigger the ship (and thus the more cannons you have) the quicker you can dismantle skeleton galleons without having to engage too much with their bullcrap. You also get access to boarding and guarding holes, which most likely is the best possible strat you should use against them when you have a crew member.
Overall these are good tips, especially the one of circling a rock trying to get them stuck. If you're solo that one is CRITICAL to stay alive!

Another tip, throw firebomb on the skeletons using the cannons, I have seen galleons not being able to fire for 2 min straight because of this

ALSO worth mentioning, to the more braver and intrepid among you who have watched the video like I, and ventured into the comments below; If you sink over 500 Skeleton Ships in your Pirates' Career, you can unlock the commendation and title 'Legend of the Sea of Thieves'. Each fleet spawns 5 ships; take your time and have fun with it; you try getting your 500 all at once you're gonna burn yourself out; it's about the Journey to Pirate Legend, not finally getting there.
I've got to say pirate legend is like diamonds in minecraft the longer the game goes on the less it means and at this point it means very little and I'd consider it very early game.
@@hugegamer8004 agreed, anyone with a degree of aptitude could get pirate legend. "Legend of the Sea of Thieves" sounds more impressive. They should have put the title behind something more impressive, like getting all of the legendary commendations.

If you circle the sea dog island, reaper hideout, rum runner, North star and the K9 island, you pretty much have the boundary the fleet operates in. Also after sinking the final wave and grabbing the money pile, be sure to check rocks for the other loot left behind. It stays up for way longer than people think. Great vid. 👍
Parking next to a rock is the single best method to keep control over your fleet experience the next wave doesn't spawn until you move your ship and if you have a rowboat you can pick up all the loot with your rowboat without moving your ship

Some very important piece of info
-If your dealing with anchorballs, don't bother raising the capstan, they will almost certainly fire another one at you; which will instantly raise your anchor.
-Keep all of your supplies in crates, this completely negates barrelballs.
-Fight them near the edge of the event if possible, they cannot leave the event arena which allows you to retreat and recover. As well as puts you in a position where you can safely move away to deal with any players who want to mess with you.
-Use firebombs liberally, it kills the skeleton cannoneers and gives you time to put holes in their ship or repair.
Cool video, I also suggest lighting the galleon decks on fire to get skeletons off cannons. If they are the shrouded skeletons at night, you can fire a flair into the sky and that will expose them.

One time, I joined a friend's session that just did the skelly fleet event and he is pretty new. The trick is to do it when a storm is over the battlefield lol!

I was on the last wave and all the holes in my ship were big holes and whenever I bailed it just filled itself again I raged so hard because I didn't have a rowboat
Yeah not alot you can do if you get yourself into a situation where you have a bunch of tier 3 holes. Did you manage to use to rocks as cover? or still got pummeled by them?

I've tried to solo skele galleons a few times that I just randomly found sailing around. The first time I managed to get away. The second time I got away but the dang thing followed me for almost 20 min before I finally lost him (I thought they had a limit to how far they could chase you?), the third time during a skeleton fleet event I got stuck on the rock and killed by two skele galleons and then (while adrift at sea in my rowboat during a storm) got a notification of the galleons being sunk. Sadly the waves were too high to see them and my rowboat eventually sunk so I never found the loot. Didn't hear any cannon fire so I assume they either crashed into rocks/each other or the rain sank them.
OMG!!!! Yeah Ive never been quite sure on skelly ships, sometimes they leave instantly others the follow me across map
Biggest downside to this event really is the utter ball-ache of looting.

Don’t get me wrong, you can solo literally everything but in my opinion everything is better with a crew. They don’t need to be good they just need to be fun to play with

Just finished this after 3 failed attempts nearly lost my mind I ran out of cannon balls so I just rammed the final ship till it sunk😭

I love this event however i find it kind of hard to collect all of the loot, do you have any tips on that?
Yeah this is a good question. I always try to engage the fleet beside rocks, as this allows you time to gather treasure as the newly spawned ships will sail around them, unable to fire at you, giving you the time you need to harpoon the loot in. And as a bonus, those idiot skeletons will often crash and do half the job for you :)
You get 3 ashes chest and 3 ashes key doing that ???
i have to ask do storms naturally go to this event while its active? i've seen storms do a full 180 just to stay above the event unmoving for over 30 minutes on multiple occasions i've only ever done this event stormless once
Storms will bother you during this event and it will be very frustrating
Yeah it can honestly feel like this all the time, however the event has no effect on the storm. A good way to think about is that the storm is in the exact same position on every server , the storm path can be tracked and there is even a website too see such path. The path of the storm will be the same no matter what server you are on, and remains unaffected by the event. Hope that helps :)

getting off the boat isnt that dump, drive away and when you fully repaired your own ship go get on a sekleton ship and stop them from repairing. I did that on both of the galleons and they stop targetting your ship. BUT i will never solo this again xD. Its way too hard for a solo player. 2 players and you´re good.
Yeah I feel you on this, couple times I left my boat for some reason the skelly ships continued to aggro my ship :(

I've accidentally ran into a Skelly fleet by accident several times, every single time, the 1st wave is ALWAYS 2 GALLEONS.
Guess that's just my luck

@@RealCardmaster It's happened to me twice when I'm minding my own business, and once from me intentionally going for the event. I rarely go after Random Skelly galleons when sailing around. Imagine my horror to just be minding my own business and then there's 2 Galleons on either side of me.
wait till people find out the event self completes at round 3 if you sail out of the battle area. Then you can skip the hassle of soloing 2 ai gallys with aimbot :)
if u raise the reaper flag and sell everything at hideout u wont get any recommandation for selling chest of thousands grog or those castaway chests for the silent barnacle set

My dude setting people up for failure said new players should raise a reaper flag and go to a fleet in the middle of the map no way that ends badly for anyone
I'm sorry, you feel like that, my recommendation for raising a reaper flag is because you get more gold out of it and you a really close to the reaper's hideout, so you can always flee their with your loot if you feel you are not up for the fight. But the people that don't mind the PVP action will also finish the event with a grade 5 flag so they can see where the action is when they finish the event
if you get all the loot it's like 150 k
I thought I got all the loot I never got 150K is that converting all your doubloons you earn to gold too?
