This might be the hardest version choice I've had in a Pokemon game yet. Ceruledge looks awesome, but not having Hydreigon or Tyranitar is a gut punch.
you can move your deino or larvitar from pokemon sword/shield using pokemon home. so i will pick pokemon violet because ceruledge and miraidon are cool

I got both versions and let me tell you the games are the same even the exclusives you can easily trade with codes thanks to austin john play. The only thing you need to consider is the riding for me koraidon is the best cause his wheels are not actual wheels but its his sack on front and his tail on the back. Koraidon also has emotions to show during gameplay. Miraidon on the other hand is cool to ride. I decided which version to main based on the legendery trio dog fusion in scarlet which is cool af
I've never played the game, but what a horrible option... Get a bike based one that functions properly or a dinky dinosaur with tires that don't actually function. I don't like robots, a huge turnoff for me too. Looks like Scarlett will be it for me.
I pinged back and forth between the two for a while but I think ultimately, I'm leaning more towards Scarlet, for the old world/nature type themes. Also, I'm really fond of my dragon types as well!
Yeah not really a fan of the design theming choices for Violet (seen so far), too narrow a theme choice imo, it'll prob just feel like almost every new paradox/version exclusive mon you see is some variation on 'robot' And with the past forms of Scarlet 'mons actually being rooted in history, designs from them will likely feel more what "Pokemon" was originally intended to be. Plus, I always liked seeing what exactly Pokemon where based on.
I prefer violet in almost every manner. The colours, the exclusives, the paradox Pokémon. But man, Koraidon is just so freaking cool and adorable. I don’t know what to do, I really want Violet, but I’m never gonna forgive myself if I leave Koraidon hanging😞

Furthermore, I have played Legends: Arceus which is based on the past, so now I thought it's time to play a Pokemon game based on the future! (:
After reading some of the comments, I’m really glad I made the decision easy on myself and just bought both versions. Did the same with Sword and Shield (last Pokémon game I played) and never regretted it
Toughest decision in a long time. Intended to pick Scarlet, bc I usually prefer ancient stuff over futurism, and I really like Koraidon, but Miraidon grew on me. Probably making a spontaneous decision once I buy the game.

I think Violet has more appealing exclusives for me. It's funny because my first Pokémon game was Blue when I was 10. 25 years later and I am feeling the same way.
I never ever usually base my choice on the legendary as you get it late game and I never use mine if I'm playing seriously - makes the game way too easy. But this changes everything
I like red over purple in general, but I don't like the way Koraidon run while riding on it lol I think I might go with Scarlet just because of the exclusives lol
I like the legendary Miraidon on violet better like the exclusives better on violet. But the hidden Pokémon in Scarlet is more of the vibe I like more natural look. But I like the professor better in Scarlet but like the school uniforms better in Violet. So I’m still on the fence might just get both but one at a time if I can’t decide lmao 😅
I'm so at odds... the paradox pokemons from scarlet look cooler, but I dont want to be stuck riding around in koraidon, since (while I love his design) it just looks stupid to me that he's walking around with a weel that doesn't work, so I prefer miraidon in that regard... goddammit
From all the information I’ve gathered but could be wrong here, it’s doesn’t really matter what version you pick as long as you have a friend who picks the opposite version as you both join each others game both version exclusive Pokémon will spawn. So it’s really just what legend you wanna ride and also those two armour Pokémon.
My Niece is old enough where she loves playing Pokémon now, beat Shield without my help. So I gave her first choice and she said she wanted Scarlet. Sooo looks like I’m getting Violet which I am totally okay with!!

You made a mistake when saying which box legendaries is going with which batch of exclusive Pokémon, and you also said your uniform changes with the season, assuming you meant versions.
i bought both. i’m already broke but i had to. i was so tired of missing out on some of my favorite stuff and this game has so much variety between the two i couldn’t not buy both
I got Violet only because I figured I could just get the two dragon exclusives from scarlet in violet anyways just in a different form. I wasn’t into most of the other Pokémon exclusives from scarlet except the Donphan and armarouge.
I was torn between the two bc I loveee hydregon but I liked violets legendary when I heard new form for hydregon in violet that instantly made up my mind for me 😂

It's Koraidon (Co-Rye-Don)and Miraidon (Mi-Rye-Don) and Miraidon is in Violet not Koraidon easy way to remember Korai=past and Mirai=future in Japanese
It’s pretty much gonna come down to which vehicle Pokémon I like more but I can’t decide. I like scarlets look a little more (I think??) but I don’t like how he runs around even though he has wheels. If he didn’t have the wheels i would definitely get Scarlett. I probably will anyways but not sure. This video helped a lot clarify the differences though!
Man I still don't know which version to pick. I prefer historic over futuristic, but i'm not a fan of koraidon's wheels and my friend is already getting scarlet. i love tyranitar way more than salamence, but t-tar gets a paradox form in violet (i hope it looks OK, all future ones being metallic is kinda meh imo) and violet has ceruledge. I wonder if there's going to be anything else different that is not covered in this video, because I find the pokemon company has been a bit secretive, which is really annoying if you want to make the right choice. Not to mention, we don't know if there will be differences in the DLC. Isle of Armor gave you a different rival depending on your version for gen8 and I preferred the sword rival, but I owned shield... Man idk what to do. Maybe check out the paradox pokemon on the day of release because im certain content creators will share them when the embargo is lifted.

And robots and futuristic stuff isn’t really that interesting to me as much as ancient or prehistoric creatures, ordered scarlet since it was the only one available at target anyways

Violet. The futuristic vibe is really good, Mismagius and Dragapult are pokemon I absolutely love, Miraidon is great but Koraidon is good too. Gonna pick it up soon!

I’m slow getting this game but going for violet. The differences aren’t too different for me. I do like the female professor more on scarlett but not liking wearing orange for the whole game. I like purple that’s pretty much the tipping point for me. I think the futuristic style looks kinda cool too.
im glad im team violet, the only losses imo are future donphan and eiscue, everything else looks great. i also wish dreepy can be found early on, unlike in SWSH since i wanted to raise one on my team without trading
Well in your next playthrough when they open up Pokemon Home, you can raise a young one from an egg or transfer a young one from sword or shield. That's my plan at least, Dreepy is one of my favs.
Easily violet for my choice. Although i much prefer the female prof tho over the guy lol BUT Violet has the better looking legendary and exclusives imo. Also i love anything high tech so it's futuristic themes is a huge bonus for me.
Scarlet is my choice since koraidon caught my eye (pls don’t be mad at me if I spelt it wrong) and also I love the ancient theme and also tyranitar is in the game so ye scarlet is mine
Reasons I want Scarlett: ancient aesthetics, fake wheel dragon, silly-but-fun school design, general vibes. Reasons I want Violet: Professor Turo. It's honestly sad how hard I am waffling over this. 😂😂
I'm getting Violet, because it seems easier to get the Aqua Breed Tauros which is my favorite water type in Gen 9 and that's the best game to choose Sprigatto which is currently my all-time favorite Pokemon. Because Ceruledge is a fire/ghost type I will choose Fuecoco in Scarlet to avoid having 2 fire/ghost types for my A and B teams.
I love everything about Violet.. Except for Professor Turo. I REALLY want to play Scarlet for Professor Sada, but pretty much every other aspect of the game I like Violet better.
Dang I'll have to get scarlet for Drifloon. I like the legendary in scarlet more too, but I like the futuristic theming, the professor and Ceruladge from violet more so idk😥

Glad I went with Scarlet but was biased from the beginning. Except uniforms (which Arven still looks better in Scarlet's) it has better of all. Better legendary (not a p3nis dragon), better and more original paradoxes, better prof, armarogue and ceruledge are pretty even both are cool. Never been so biased about a pokemon version.
Well I prefer the professor and school features of Violet, and I like the wheels on the Pokémon actually being used, but I prefer the dragon style Pokémon and exclusives of Scarlett, so I went with that one. Also because they were on sale for $35 each on Groupon but Violet was sold out.
The difference that's making me hurt my mind, is that you can get more fancy new stuff in violet from gen 8 and 9 but in scarlet its og feelings and battles so the way i see these two games you should pick your starter first before you buy the game because you and your pokemon would like to match with its surroundings and by that you will like the game more. SO PICK YOUR STARTER FIRST THEN DECIDE WHICH GAME TO BUY!
I haven't played Pokemon since Blue and I'm really tempted to buy this one, I already went through this with Sword&Shield when the Open World aspect seemed really tempting to get back into Pokemon and was only stopped because people complained how they didn't port all Pokemon into the new one....
I personally like scarlet better, do to the fact you have these pokemon that look like a whole new pokemon but still somewhat the same. With cool details. Than violet has robots. That's pretty much what it. Ridion past form where its tusk are almost into its head and has fur, future is just a robot.
I do this thing with my sis where she picks I get the opposite then next time I pick she gets the opposite, but I grew more on scarlett and it didnt make me feel like I HAD to have it, Koridon just looks so much cuter! Miriadon looks cool but bald 😅

This really helped me decide on what version I'm going with, Pokemon Violet. Love the futuristic/cool vibe with Violet and love the color too.

It’s pretty much gonna come down to which vehicle Pokémon I like more but I can’t decide. I like scarlets look a little more (I think??) but I don’t like how he runs around even though he has wheels. If he didn’t have the wheels i would definitely get Scarlett. I probably will anyways but not sure. This video helped a lot clarify the differences though!
This is a really hard choice, but I might get scarlet. I like its older theme, and my favorite color is red, so it's made to be.
at 3:39 and 4:00 you swap koraidon and miraidon, koraidon is scarlet exclusive and miraidon is violet exclusive

Man I still don't know which version to pick. I prefer historic over futuristic, but i'm not a fan of koraidon's wheels and my friend is already getting scarlet.
i love tyranitar way more than salamence, but t-tar gets a paradox form in violet (i hope it looks OK, all future ones being metallic is kinda meh imo) and violet has ceruledge.
I wonder if there's going to be anything else different that is not covered in this video, because I find the pokemon company has been a bit secretive, which is really annoying if you want to make the right choice. Not to mention, we don't know if there will be differences in the DLC.
Isle of Armor gave you a different rival depending on your version for gen8 and I preferred the sword rival, but I owned shield...
Man idk what to do. Maybe check out the paradox pokemon on the day of release because im certain content creators will share them when the embargo is lifted.

I prefer the color violet over scarlet as I find orange to be unappealing but I love Koridaon so much more! And robots and futuristic stuff isn’t really that interesting to me as much as ancient or prehistoric creatures, ordered scarlet since it was the only one available at target anyways

I’m going back and forth 😭. I’m a fairy type trainer and Scarlet seems to have more fairy options with Jigglypuff and Misdreavus… I’m so torn on both!!

I’m playing Scarlet first, I like the colors of *Miraidon* better. Also, paradox Salmence is my favorite looking paradox Pokémon.

I’m slow getting this game but going for violet. The differences aren’t too different for me. I do like the female professor more on scarlett but not liking wearing orange for the whole game. I like purple that’s pretty much the tipping point for me. I think the futuristic style looks kinda cool too.
I want my pokemon to stay pokemon and not turn into robots, so I'm going with scarlet!
Sada is 😍 but I can't at all lose out on Ceruledge AND Dragapult as a ghost trainer 😭

im glad im team violet, the only losses imo are future donphan and eiscue, everything else looks great. i also wish dreepy can be found early on, unlike in SWSH since i wanted to raise one on my team without trading
Well in your next playthrough when they open up Pokemon Home, you can raise a young one from an egg or transfer a young one from sword or shield. That's my plan at least, Dreepy is one of my favs.

Easily violet for my choice. Although i much prefer the female prof tho over the guy lol BUT Violet has the better looking legendary and exclusives imo. Also i love anything high tech so it's futuristic themes is a huge bonus for me.
Scarlet is my choice since koraidon caught my eye (pls don’t be mad at me if I spelt it wrong) and also I love the ancient theme and also tyranitar is in the game so ye scarlet is mine

I'm getting Violet, because it seems easier to get the Aqua Breed Tauros which is my favorite water type in Gen 9 and that's the best game to choose Sprigatto which is currently my all-time favorite Pokemon. Because Ceruledge is a fire/ghost type I will choose Fuecoco in Scarlet to avoid having 2 fire/ghost types for my A and B teams.

I love everything about Violet.. Except for Professor Turo. I REALLY want to play Scarlet for Professor Sada, but pretty much every other aspect of the game I like Violet better.
Dang I'll have to get scarlet for Drifloon. I like the legendary in scarlet more too, but I like the futuristic theming, the professor and Ceruladge from violet more so idk😥
I got both versions and I beat Pokemon scarlet and about halfway through violet and violet is already so much cooler with the colors and Pokemon exclusives

I picked and wanted scarlet because it had a focus on the past so I thought 1 scarlet and 2 violet then I realized they're basically the same.
My wife picked violet and the grass starter so it's scarlet for me... and fire starter😈.
I got violet because of the exclusives, colors, and that absolute CHAD of a professor and Miraidon

Before watching this vid was 100% going for Violet but the female professor being exclusive to Scarlet was the deal breaker.
I think Pokémon making the Pokémon robotic and machine looking ruins the point of Pokémon so in my option I’m picking scarlet

Glad I went with Scarlet but was biased from the beginning. Except uniforms (which Arven still looks better in Scarlet's) it has better of all. Better legendary (not a p3nis dragon), better and more original paradoxes, better prof, armarogue and ceruledge are pretty even both are cool. Never been so biased about a pokemon version.
Well I prefer the professor and school features of Violet, and I like the wheels on the Pokémon actually being used, but I prefer the dragon style Pokémon and exclusives of Scarlett, so I went with that one. Also because they were on sale for $35 each on Groupon but Violet was sold out.

The difference that's making me hurt my mind, is that you can get more fancy new stuff in violet from gen 8 and 9 but in scarlet its og feelings and battles so the way i see these two games you should pick your starter first before you buy the game because you and your pokemon would like to match with its surroundings and by that you will like the game more. SO PICK YOUR STARTER FIRST THEN DECIDE WHICH GAME TO BUY!
I haven't played Pokemon since Blue and I'm really tempted to buy this one, I already went through this with Sword&Shield when the Open World aspect seemed really tempting to get back into Pokemon and was only stopped because people complained how they didn't port all Pokemon into the new one....
I personally like scarlet better, do to the fact you have these pokemon that look like a whole new pokemon but still somewhat the same. With cool details. Than violet has robots. That's pretty much what it. Ridion past form where its tusk are almost into its head and has fur, future is just a robot.
I do this thing with my sis where she picks I get the opposite then next time I pick she gets the opposite, but I grew more on scarlett and it didnt make me feel like I HAD to have it, Koridon just looks so much cuter! Miriadon looks cool but bald 😅
