    I'm on day three of a water only fast and will carry on for several more days now that I'm in the zone. No hunger, aches and pains gone, still a little cold but feeling better. I have done a lot of extended fasts. I find it easier to fast than control what I eat. Going on broth for a while once this fast is done and then carnivore. I'll see how that works.

      Everyone is different. I'm 62 and started fasting at 59 with intermittent fasting. I celebrated my first 18 hour fast, first OMAD, first 24 hour fast and now I do a 4 day fast once every 2 months. Hours 20-36 are rough but the hunger goes away starting at 36-40 hours. Once I hit around 48 I have no hunger and easily cruse to 96 hours with no effort. Your milage may vary. I always look forward to fasting and have it pre-marked on my calendar. Next one starts in 3 weeks!

      @@TheOfficialArthurMorgan I think the answer to that question is based on what the individual person wants. It takes an incredible amount of work and effort to put on the kind of muscle you see in bodybuilders.. so I highly doubt you have to worry about "too much muscle". The regimine of bodybuilding is way beyond the interests of 99% of those who are trying to just get in to good or reasonable shape. If you're over 40.. highy unlikey you'll engage in that level of activity and dietary requirements. So for the 99% your focus is loosing viceral & sub Q fat, and building muscle to support your frame, and that doesnt look anything like 'body builders" You're in control of how much or how far you take it..

I have heard that children tend to not eat when they are in growth spurts. If growth hormone is secreted during fasted states, do you think this could be a reason why they do not eat a lot? Are their bodies potentially regulating Leptin/ghrelin in order to keep them in a fasted state to stimulate more GH?

    Is it okay to go for a long term if I'm okay with 24 hour fasting with one meal a day?
    I'm doing it for 3years and had no problems but I don't know for long term like 10years or so.
    Very curious about it.

      "Sex-specific boxplots showing the relative increase in HGH during fasting in categories defined by sex-specific thresholds of baseline HGH (p0.15 ng/mL for females and >0.05 ng/mL for males). Females (n=8) had a median HGH change of 720% (IQR: 475% to 5,202%, mean: 2,934% ±4,514%) in the lower baseline HGH category, while in the higher baseline HGH category females (n=12) had a median HGH change of 38.1% (IQR: −49.8% to 240%, mean: 91% ±162%). For males (p=0.09), the HGH change was a median of 3,425% (IQR: 300% to 5,740%, mean: 5,069% ±6,931%) in the lower baseline HGH category (n=7), while in the higher baseline HGH category males (n=3) had median HGH change of 73.0% (IQR 23.2% to 2,545%, mean: 880% ±1,442%). In each boxplot, the bold line inside a box is the median, the upper and lower limits of the box are its 25th and 75th percentiles, the whiskers above and below are 1.5 times the height of the box, open circles are outliers >1.5 times the height of the box, and asterisks are outliers >3.0 times the height of the box."

    According to research Dr Rhonda Patrick here on TH-cam has reviewed, it's at the 18-hour mark of fasting that releases a large amount of human growth hormone. It does diminish after a day but it does some funky up and down stuff. But definitely the 18-hour Mark is a huge hit apparently

      @joeskwara5823 I believe so. But I know there are diminishing returns somewhere in or right after that window but you can refer to Dr Rhonda Patrick podcast and she sets links to the studies if you want to read it yourself for the specifics. Curious how they measured the GH. The error bars are huge and it is known that GH is secreted in a pulsatile fashion. So there are no steady-state levels.

    • @maxbauer1633
      @maxbauer1633 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the error bars in these diagrams dont really tell u much.
      They would be interesting if they had published the control group that didnt fast, but there is only male, female and low baseline gh and high baseline gh.
      Also its quite normal to have a very wide range of GH in different people and circumstances, but these outliers of data points might drive up the statistical error chance.

    Sure Gh spikes super high during fasting roughly after 16 hrs or so, but IGF-1 is going to be lower , T possibly will be lower, you cant really Grow new tissue during this time since no food to rebuild. Its good if u need a Boost to Gh to keep on track or whatever you need a boost for

    Hi, I'm nearly 50 yo💪
    I started to practise in the sauna once per week 2x 30min after at least 24 hours of fasting. ( once per week I fast for 36+ hours ). Before the sauna, I'm doing 5-6 sprint intervals. My goal is to make a peak of HGH and that is my idea of how to do that. This Routine I started 3 weeks ago and looks promising. Can I ask for an opinion?

    Why is this surprising? STRESS and hypoglycemia are the main triggers of growth hormone secretion. I guess my question is, why do you think a 1500% increase in growth hormone is a good thing? What are some of the negative consequences of elevated GH? You might want to review. You’re also misrepresenting the data, and you know this (I hope), but are trying to make a more sensationalist video.
