「作者經年累月奔走各地傳揚福音，最後積勞成疾，在53歲那年中風後半身不遂，他向週遭的親友表明神並未離棄他，他所受的病痛，祇是對生命、信心、和希望的挑戰，而他的未來則是一首新歌。這是他最後的一首詩歌，把他自己最後的榮耀得勝與世人分享。」～樂侶～
“Eugene Bartlett had spent many years on the road, preaching the Gospel, but due to being overworked, at the age of 53, he suffered a paralysing stroke, leaving him immobile and bedridden. Yet, despite it all, he told his friends and family, that God had not abandoned him, his illness was just a challenge to his Life, Faith, and Hope, and that his Future was in this New Hymn, his last one, sharing his Final Glorious Victory with the world.” ~ Hymn Companion ~

我曾聽過一故事，榮耀救主由天降臨，祂曾捨命在加畧山，為救我這罪人；
I heard an Old, Old Story, How a Saviour came from Glory, How He gave His Life on Calvary, To save a wretch like me;
我聽到祂在呻吟，流出寶血，贖我罪債，我認罪、悔改、歸向神，靠主，我必得勝。
I heard about His Groaning, Of His Precious Blood’s Atoning, Then I repented of my sins, And won the Victory.
靠主耶穌，必得勝，我救主常扶助！主慈愛尋找我，賜我贖罪之恩；
O Victory, In Jesus, My Saviour, Forever! He sought me and bought me, With His Redeeming Blood;
我深知道，祂愛我，我願全心愛我主，主寶血洗我潔淨，靠主，我必得勝。
He loved me ere I knew Him, And all my Love is due Him, He plunged me to Victory, Beneath the Cleansing Flood.
我深知祂在天家，為我預備榮耀居所，遙遠望見那新天、新地，黃金街、碧玉城；
I heard about a Mansion, He has built for me in Glory, And I heard about, The Streets of Gold, Beyond the Crystal Sea;
好像聽見眾天使，歌唱基督救贖故事，到那日，我必在那邊，同唱得勝凱歌。
About the Angels singing, And the Old Redemption Story, And some Sweet Day, I’ll sing Up There, The Song of Victory.
