The woman in the Periah Nexus trailer is a member of the Adepta Soroitas, a Sister of Battle (SoB). Space nuns, not Space Marines. SoB's are normal humans (very peak human condition, taken from the cream of the crop of humanity, but still not genetically/surgically enhanced like Space Marines), but they do use power armor and bolters like Space Marines, albeit of a normal human size. SoB's are the "military" for the Ecclesiarchy, the "church" of humanity that worships the Emperor of Mankind, they exist because of a loop hole in an ancient edict forbidding the church from having "men" under arms. SoB's are known for their fanaticism and religious zealotry, so much so they are able to manifest supernatural powers based on their faith in the Emperor.
Exactly correct! The only thing I should correct is that they aren't recruited from the crop of humanity. The majority are actually recruited from orphaned girls that end up in the hands of the church. Some come from 'gifts' of unwanted children, but the majority comes from orphanages with children that show a little grit. What ends up making these individuals so good is actually the strict regime and training they undergo along their way to becoming a full fledged Sister. Their training shapes the unshakable faith that is present on every Adepta Sororitas battlefield. Their faith is so strong that some Sisters even come to be revived as literal loyalist daemons!

As far as playing the 40k games are concerned, there's a few option. Darktide, Space Marine 2 is coming out soon, Space Hulk - Deathwing is all good. But getting into THE game, get ready to collect and paint miniatures and read a never ending series of books

Well, in addition to the animated movie you found and various Warhammer games, if you ever get into VR, the Warhammer 40k: Battle Sister game, allows you to play (physically, because VR) as a specific sister of battle, where will stand alongside space marines both friendly and enemy, and actually do some of this crazy stuff. Sadly you won't get to fight the tyranid aliens, but there are many other creatures to do battle with; many of which will surprise you. While the quest/pico versions are portable, if you intend to stream it I recommend the PC version. Since the battle sister is physically altered to your real life height, it was fun being a 6'5" walking terror of devastation. And even then, given everyone else's heights remain canonical, space marines are damn tall.
The first trailer made me wanna play Space Hulk: Deathwing because the outcome is the same. You can kill as many Xenos as you can but you'll still die. Lol

The Tyranids are entirely biological, every gun, ship, bullet, armor, and soldier are all living creatures bound to the will of the Hive Mind. Collectively the Tyranids are the Great Devourer, their only goal is to consume and assimilate all other life, adding their DNA to their own in an effort to survive and evolve. Its unknown how many Tyranids there are, but it is believed and heavily implied that the Tyranids that have thus far devoured hundreds if not thousands of worlds are just the scouts and the main fleet is yet to arrive. What this trailer depicts is the “4th Tyrannic war” or the newest major Tyranid Invasion. So far every Tyranid Invasion has happened to the east of the galaxy, but this newest invasion (which is the largest ever seen) is happening to the west, meaning it is possible the galaxy is in the jaws of the Hive Mind.
You hit the nail with describing the Pariah Nexus as a Bermuda Triangle...but for mortal souls. Constant presence within the Pariah Nexus causes people to have like a hopelessness feeling, as if you feel empty, since the Nexus actually BLOCKS off The Warp, therefore, people are disconnected from their souls, hence the emptiness feeling they have.
IM subbing this channel but get basic knowledge. I'm in 40k for 4 years and still learning: -Astartes for more visuals ecstasy - Bricky for good start - Liuten if you will jump deep in the lore with channel NEXT -> - TTS for good lough and understanding jokes - MJKill for easy knowledge and "fun" (not everybody cup of tea) For more lore and best "projecting" of the lore/bio of specific characters - TheAmberKing (best narration in same lane as Baldermort). If you wanna get into the lore I'd recommend watching luetin09's videos. He's probably the most reliable and accurate source of 40k lore on TH-cam. Start with his "wtf is Warhammer 40k" video.

But, this story mainly focuses on the Struggles of the Guardsmen and the Sisters while they wait for reinforcements. The baddies are the Necrons after they woke up from their millions of year power nap.

The most jarring is the "The Emperor's Angels won't save this world now". A Sister of Battle would kill a lowly Guardsman for disrespecting the ability of the Emperor's Space Marines like that as it would easily be seen as a slight towards the Emperor himself.
The game you're referring to is a miniatures wargame, played on a table, with a friend. Not saying you shouldn't play it (it's probably the best gaming experience there is) but it's not really streaming friendly and I wouldn't necessarily recommend you find some random person off your channel to play it with
Everyone's got tons of good reccomendations, including bricky's many warhammer beginnners videos (all of them are good), but no one's mentioned Boltgun, a warhammer doom clone style shooter coming out soon. You want doom 40k that's for you.

Yeah lore-wise humanity has been taking L’s for a while since they had a few W’s as well. 40k is an ever changing and evolving tabletop game with many factions so there’s gonna be a lot of L’s and W’s to pass around in order to give equal spotlight for everyone and to make the game as balanced as it can be in this wacky world
Unfortunately, 40k is a series that has been trucking along since the 80s so the plot is really hard to get into. Even if you pick up a game based on 40k, even if it's good, your really only getting a in the moment story between the factions involved most of the time. Which I think that's how you should get into 40k to be honest. If you try to learn everything from jump you'll probably just get overwhelmed.
