That is awesome! When you started selling the smashed coins I looked to see how much a coin smasher was. I was kinda surprised how much they were. Glad you were able to get one!
We used to smash all kinds of coins on the railroad tracks. The train always came around the same time daily. We used to do it at the shore during the early 70's when the trains ran to Wildwood NJ, but could smash coins anytime we wanted in NE Philly...
I am super interested in making my own coins, but the only way have really seen suggested is with a press (upwards of 100t). This seems a little out of reach, and I am wanting something more authentic so I am avoiding poured coins (though I have tried). Any suggestions on another approach similar to this? I have been recycling and pouring copper and bronze in hopes to use for this and other purposes, may have some silver to use if I can get a process down as well.
Hi there Silver Dragons, I am a little baffled at the thing I've watched on silver trade prices for the past 48 hrs. What is your take on the price not changing at all for hours at a time? It was @ 21.77 at 9 am E.T. on Wednesday and stayed there for the majority of the day, going from 21.77 to 21.80 and back all day plus the rest of Thursday. Any light on that, I love your videos and you are the reason I started stacking this past February and now I have a little over 130 oz plus around $150 in constitutional silver. I also watch Yankee Stacker and have learned a lot in a short time. Thanks for all you guys do to educate the average guy. Keep on stacking bro!!!👍
Any 1/10th silver rounds I roll I use shoe polish on reverse and roll design on obverse so It proves it is silver. I got a nice vintage press for $727 years ago on Ebay but had to drive 10 hours back and forth to pick it up. I bought another press for $700 some time ago. I'd like to make a custom press. I've rolled tens of thousands of various denominations.
Just wondering who can make a Die for occasional use. I don't need the whole machine. But I'd pay for the die, and the amount of coins it printed. Any thoughts?
Mexico gold 5 pesos is 19mm as is the 1/10th guineas you're using. Unsure on the guineas thickness but assuming you can correct for it, you should be able to use the 5 pesos gold to SMASH! A half sovereign is 19.22mm so that may work as well. Unfortunately the closest .9999 gold coin is the 1/10th pandas at 17.95mm, but may also work.
Hello ! , I am from argentina and i have Friends living in beverly hills california , there is a good coin shop in that place ? , And what silver is good? Morgans or maples Oz ? , Tnx !!!
@@social3ngin33rin generally, defacing of currency is fine. It's only illegal if you do it for profit. Say if you were to melt pennies to sell for their copper value, that's illegal, but if you carve a beard onto a coin for the fun of it, that's just fine. The Fed actually somewhat encourages it so they can mint new currency.
There seems to be a real issue with a fake SD account in this comment section. literally every comment has the account trying to get people to connect with a scammer on WhatsApp, pretending to be SD. Be careful folks.
I'm trying to figure out why these scammers think they're actually going to fool someone into thinking they are "Silver Dragons", when the stuff they comment, on legit comments, obviously shows that they're scammers. They're probably from India, or some middle eastern country. They're clueless that they're obviously a fraud.
A federal statute in the criminal code of the United States (18 U.S.C. 331), indeed makes it illegal if one "fraudulently alters, defaces, mutilates, impairs, diminishes, falsifies, scales or lightens" any U.S. coin. However, being a criminal statute, a fraudulent intent is required for violation. Thus, the mere act of compressing coins into souvenirs is not illegal, without other factors being present.
When I was a little kid, my friends and I would put pennies on the railroad tracks to squash them. No design on them, but we had fun doing it.

If you had the tools and materials itd be cheaper but still very hard to get for the average person to acheive
Very cool! I’ve got 2 tubes of those Guinea Coins, going to find as many cool penny machines in New England as I can this summer!

I always wondered, isn't it technically illegal to destroy US currency? Does this count as "destroying"?
It is a federal offense to destroy us currency, but coin elongation is an exception in the federal code making penny smashing legal.
@@DragonShield1776 lol that is so random

Hmm. Smashing '81-down pennies makes them easier to melt down. Hmm....
(real) money laundering 101
