The thing that blows me away is that teenagers today who see the Breakfast Club still relate. Just to make you feel really old, Anthony Michael Hall, the youngest acter in the movie is now 10 years older than Paul Gleason was at that time. In 1985 Gleason was 46. AMH is now 56 years old. Next year this movie will be 40 years old.
I remember the ending, when Ferris goes into the kitchen the entire theater crowd all stopped in our tracks while egressing the place. When he said the end lines "...go home..." we all got embarrassed & laughed then filed out still laughing about how he got us all!!

This movie is my absolute favorite of all time EVER! The first movie I memorized (including singing along to all the music). My sister was so annoyed because she knew that my little 9yr old self didn't really understand what was going on. As time went on to somewhere in the late 90's/early 2000's it was playing on like HBO or something. I recall my mind being completely blown. It was like the first time I'd ever seen it but still knew all the lines. P.S. I'm glad Emelio turned it down. Alan was perfect for Cameron.
I caught the end of this movie when I was a kid in the 80s.. all I could remember was them trying to run the car backwards and it crashes through those floor to ceiling windows... It bugged me and lived rent free in my head for YEARS.. not until I finally found it in the late 90s and was overjoyed when I finally watched it all again and found out it was a great movie too!

Another thing nobody ever comments on... At UT Knoxville There is a Ferris Hall and a Bueller Hall across the street from each other in the engineering campus. Weird, eh? When I went there in 80's it was Bueller, but some rich guy donated money and now it's Dabney-Bueller Hall. Ferris is where I spent my time, for the EE students.

On August 5, 1987, while driving a rented car outside Tempo, Northern Ireland, Broderick crossed into the wrong lane and collided head-on with another car. The driver, Anna Gallagher, 28, and her mother, Margaret Doherty, 63, were both killed instantly. He was vacationing with Jennifer Grey, whom he had begun dating during the filming of Ferris Bueller's Day Off. He suffered a fractured leg and ribs, a concussion, and a collapsed lung. Grey's injuries included severe whiplash, which later required surgery to avoid paralysis. Broderick told police he had no recollection of the crash and did not know why he had been in the wrong lane: "What I first remember is waking up in the hospital, with a very strange feeling going on in my leg." He was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and faced up to five years in prison, but was convicted of the lesser charge of careless driving and fined £100 (US$175). The victims' family called the verdict "a travesty of justice". The victims' brother/son, Martin Doherty, later forgave Broderick amid plans to meet him in 2003. Mandela Effect: I saw the movie in Santa Rosa California (Sonoma County) in 1986. I remember buying the Ferris Bueller soundtrack at Tower Records on cassette. The soundtrack featured Big Audio Dynamite, which I had never hear of them, John Williams Star Wars main theme for the Ferrari going airborne scene with the garage workers, and Twist and Shout by the Beatles. Is it any wonder they claim the soundtrack was never released? The memory if not true is absolutely powerful Madela Effect. As far as the movie, I recognized it's light genius back then. Not many people realized it was a classic at the time. Unlike say Back to the Future.
