Max is surprised to learn Al has been to see his mother. Julia admits she didn’t take Al to the puppet show as planned, and she explains how Father Vallone took Al to see Gabrielle. Max says she needs to call him the next time that happens, but Julia says she thinks this was Gabrielle taking the opportunity to say goodbye to Al, and she doubts they’ll hear from her again. Dan stops by Brenda’s house to apologize for last night, but Brenda is more concerned with a letter she got this morning saying the property her house is on is being condemned and she needs to move out immediately. Michael shows Dorian the penthouse of the Llanview Grande and tells her she’ll be staying there on the house. When pressed, Michael does admit to an ulterior motive: he expresses his concern over Viki’s candidacy for mayor and wants her to convince Herb to run against Viki. Dorian promises to do her best-she suggests Michael meet her at Herb’s office in an hour to make his pitch. Viki is surprised when Clint shows his face at her campaign headquarters for the first time, but he says he’s there on Banner business. Clint wants to interview Viki for a feature article, an awkward endeavor for both of them.
Dan meets his father for lunch and tries to convince him to help Brenda with her housing situation. Larry flatly refuses and says he hopes things work out, but Brenda has made it clear she doesn’t want his help. Herb and Dorian reminisce about his gubernatorial campaign, but Herb seems to misinterpret her nostalgia for a desire to rekindle their romance. He is about to kiss her when Michael knocks on the door and quickly launches into his pitch for Herb to run for mayor. Herb is flattered-and surprised-by the offer of support, but he says he needs some time to think about it. Herb promises to get back to him by tomorrow night with his decision. After Michael leaves, Herb quickly realizes Dorian must have been in on Michael’s pitch from the beginning. She admits Michael came to her first, but quickly pivots to the reasons she thinks Herb should accept. With some persuasion, Herb agrees: he will run for mayor against Viki. After hours, Max breaks into Father Vallone’s office in hopes of finding some clue to Gabrielle’s whereabouts. He finds a note on Tony’s calendar that he believes will lead him to Gabrielle, but as he’s about to leave, the light in Tony’s office turns on.
This story would have been perfect to bring Dorian and herb back together.
Dorian was just too cute and funny for words...I just love her.
I love her fire, sharp mind and big brown eyes.
I do too. I really loved Robin as Dorian but Elaine was terrific. I always wished they brought Elaine back to play Melinda Cramer. Also Kelly bishop who just left as serena Wyman could have been a great addie I guess if she weren't institutionalized b/c then their wasn't much air time for her or too much to do in that predicament & role.
I've been surprised by how much I'm enjoying EP as Dorian. I'm definitely a RS fan for life, but EP's Dorian is great in her own ways.

Although she tries to mask it behind a brazen bravado, she's a highly sensitive introvert.

@@ClassicOLTL yes see Elaine was my introduction to Dorian Cramer lord. I started watching daily in 1989. Its funny as much as I loved EP when Robin made her triumphant return in 92 at the ski lodge where viki & sloan were cheating. Right away, RS fit to Dorian like a glove. She picked up beautifully. Then I leaned she had played Dorian before. I did wish they had brought Elaine back as dorians sister Melinda. I know she briefly returned in late 97 w/ another actress. Ep would have been great. Another candidate for Melinda imo was Kelly bishop ( Mrs Wyman) I thought she was great & loved her humor about her horn dog husband towards VA VA voom Tina lord. They did bring Kelly back as a guest character, Lunas doctor when she was temp. Paralyzed. She had scenes w/ max. It's always funny when they bring back an actor w/ a diff part. Like agt baker . The actor previously played Todd's disciplinarian. Were talking early baby Todd in his first stint in prison b4 he escape. Since they did the tale of 2 Todd's & the story arc was Irene was still alive running a Rouge Cia agency. She had said she monitored her son Todd from afar so I thought what a wasted opportunity not tying in that baker was put in as Jerry the prisoner who worked in a managerial position. Plus all those cool flashbacks of Todd w/ his baby face & nearing his most pychotic phase. I just thought geez u have the same actor who was watching & bossing Todd. I wish they had tied that in
Also Susan batten ( Luna) played a nurse in 1988 who interacted w/ max as his brother Steve was in a coma. Also w/ Todd & his mom monitoring his life , Jack's nurse heddy also played Todd's nurse in the prison enfermery. I liked their interactions. She was tough & sarcastic w/ Todd while keeling things light.
I really loved when ES had her hair like that. It's a sweet hairstyle on her!
I really was immersed in the herb Micheal Dorian story w/ them convincing him to run for mayor. Dorian is such a breath of fresh air! Loved when she got herb excited to run & she was so genuinely happy w/ no agenda. Loved them today ! Micheal so should have stayed on the show & built up his family. He's got the wealth confidence & power to match Asa. I think cause Carlo is coming on they only wanted like one rival at a time for the bukes. The more the merrier!
Oh great max breaking & entering a priests office ! I guess he's lucky it is a nice priest who has to immediately forgive the sinner.
9:23...Gad, Max is so self-centered.
He carps on and on about how he "loves" Gabrielle but gives no thought to her feelings or to Julia's feelings.
He even gives scant thought to little Al's feelings most of the time.
RS played Dorian with camp and humor - almost to the level of being cartoonish -
Elaine PRINCI played Dorian like a flawed , educated , sophisticated, multi layered lady with a steel rod for a backbone and razor 🪒 tongue - PRINCI could deliver an acid tongue remark with a steel gleam in her eyes !

I loooooove Viki but I kinda agree with Michael on this one!
