One Life to Live 8/27/1991
Kevin tells LeeAnn he’s worried Cord won’t stop looking into the accident. Jason comes to Andy’s Place and tells Kevin they’re going out tonight, but this time he’s going to do all the driving. LeeAnn and Kevin think they shouldn’t go out. Wanda wants to talk to Jason about what Cord told her. Jason insists he didn’t steal the camera and that he wasn’t driving the van that drove Cord off the road. She asks why he’s spent the last six years bouncing around foster homes when she would have taken him in. He says he was afraid she’d say no. Asa complains that The Banner dropped his favorite comic strip, but Cord tells him the artist of the strip had a stroke. Gus tells Cord and Asa that he searched the van but the only thing he found was a matchbook from Junior’s Bar & Grill. Asa is interested in the matchbook, perhaps recognizing the bar from Sweetwater, Texas. Dorian notices her pen is gone and says she can’t write the article without it. Cassie tries to talk her mother out of writing the article. Dorian says Alex threatened Cassie’s life, and the article she’s planning to write will ensure she stays in Mountain View for a long time.
Alex knocks her guard unconscious and steals her uniform before making her escape.
Shirley takes Stephanie to the high school to check it out and enroll in classes. Jason confronts Cord for trash talking him to his aunt. Cord says he may not have proof yet that Jason stole the van, but he’s got proof he took the camera. He says the pictures Jason took aren’t too bad and suggests he pursue his obvious interest in photography. Asa calls Wanda and asks her to have LeeAnn deliver a pecan pie to him. LeeAnn is happy to do Wanda a favor, but she refuses when she hears the delivery is for Asa. Troy questions Dorian about her visit to Alex. He explains that after she left, Alex overpowered her guard and escaped. Dorian is frantic, demanding police protection for Cassie. Kevin visits his old football teammates at the high school and (almost literally) runs into Stephanie. Kevin says she’ll really like the school, and he’s glad she’s moving back to town. She asks what classes Kevin will be taking in college, but he says he’s decided not to go to college.
Nigel answers the door at Asa’s, but when LeeAnn tries to give him the pie, Asa interrupts and asks for a word with her. Asa shows her the matchbook from Juniors. He tries to trap her into saying she stole the van, but she says she didn’t. When it’s clear he knows she was at the scene, she tells him it wasn’t just her and Jason in the van-Kevin was there too. He says she’ll be the one to take the blame, since both Jason and Kevin are underage. Asa again offers her $25,000 to leave town for good. Dorian insists that Cassie stay with her until Alex is found, but Cassie prefers to go back to her loft. She agrees to stay temporarily to placate her mother. Cassie puts the chain on the front door and has flashbacks to when Alex tried to drown her.

Tina makes breakfast and she notices Kevin’s hangover. He drops his coffee mug when Tina tells him that she and Cord were forced off the road last night by someone driving a Banner van. At the loading dock, Jason is hard at work already when Cord pays him a visit. Cord tells Jason about the van that drove them off the road the previous night. Jason swears he was not the driver (which is technic...

Jake tells Megan he might be home very soon. He says he’s got one last assignment and he’s going to make so much money he will be able to quit after and won’t need to work anymore. He says the only catch is he won’t be able to talk to her at all during this (top secret) assignment. Megan is happy Jake might be home soon, but she’s worried about the assignment. Jake calls Andy next to wish her w...

Hi everyone. Apologies that I've been MIA recently. With the holidays and almost non-stop travel, this month has been hectic, and I haven't had time to get any episodes prepped. I'll finally be home late tonight/early tomorrow and hopefully will carve out some time this weekend and next week to get back into the swing of things. Thanks for the kind/worried comments and all your support for this...
“Lameview!??” Oh, that is it!!
Amy Grant always pumping at Andy’s!
Cheers for the episode appreciate it mate Alex is as strong as she is insane lol
I remember the very next episode, i had it recorded on VHS . Alex struggles with the guard and knocks her out
I noticed cord wears his wedding ring but Tina doesn't wear one
Just caught a blaring editing error: The interview escalates to a physical confrontation between Alex & Dorian at around 28:00, which ends the scene with Alex holding Dorian by her hair and discovering her tape recorder (which, btw, a journalist would normally use). Then when we return to them at 33:45, Dorian is back to calmly sitting at the table while Alex is again roaming the room recounting her story. The interview escalates again from a different trigger - this time Alex writing down a threat on Cassie's life... I'm pretty sure that the story was intended to be one scene or the other, but not both!
To @NoelComiX 's point, I recall my own excitement over Malone's introducing the high-stakes mystery of who ran Cord & Tina off the road - causing zero injuries, and not even damage to their car (?!), and letting viewers know from jump-street who caused the accident. Now this may have solely been for repositioning characters like Kevin, Jason, and Leeann into each others' orbits. But come on, this should have been even a little more exciting. Tina has gone over a waterfall, fallen out of a lighthouse, escaped the clinches of a mobster's obsession, and narrowly avoided being splashed with instant-death poison by her own mother-in-law. Today, she's handwringing over a fender-bender and trying to calm down her husband Cord - who by the way, experienced every one of the aforementioned dramatic events along with her. Yet he is now completely taken over by THIS harrowing "whodunnit."
Right on bro. 👆
Yeah, the characters are there but the oxygen is out of the room.
Well... That was quite a ending
I hear celine dion in the background 😂😂😂 where does my heart beat now wow!
It's nice to see Alex cos idk her character too much but whenever she's around comments are usually saying she's a gold digger. Lol
Hahaha😂😂😂 she said she doesn't trust phones bc you never know who is listening. Grrrrrllll in this day and age it gets far worse then it did back then lmao
Oh and Carlo hesser is here too. He makes various appointments as does Mitch Laurence
I know the song playing while Cord is talking but IDK the name. I think it's too many walls though
Unpopular opinion? This actor is the best Max!
38:18 So is this the last of Hunter and Andi? Will the intro finally get updated?
35:02 lmaooo crazy Alex is great drama
8:15 Geez LeeAnn, Wanda was just concerned.
@@toyaliens Wanda was concerned, but nosy and intrusive. Being concerned doesn't justify prying into a business somebody doesn't want to share.
@@Coryraisa Understandable, obviously LeeAnne cant reveal the real reason without getting Jason and Kevin in trouble.
The longest cold open we had so far, idt Rauch years ever lasted over 3 mins.
1:18 not suspicious at all Kev
Andy, Hunter and Father Tony all ushered out the door pretty quickly. Haven't seen some other characters much lately either. When was the last time we saw Brenda, Larry, Herb or Rafe? Asa hasn't done much besides hate LeeAnn. Clint hasn't been around. Viki not much either. Tina and Cord haven't been doing anything. Max hasn't been doing anything. Megan certainly hasn't done anything interesting. Even Carlo has just been existing here and there. The show really didn't know what to do during this time.
At this point it might have been a transition time as one era ended and another began and they were trying to figure what would fit and what wouldn't fit going forward.
@@aph1976exactly right. They cut people who were not pivotal here. The upcoming year's episodes have some of the best storylines in the history of the show. The AIDS quilt storyline, the Bo and Cassie wedding, the build up to Carlos's murder, Megan's fatal lupus saga, Vicky leaving Clint for Sloan...wow.
@@RealArtfulDodger Im watching now on another channel in March 1992 at Alex and Carlo's wedding.
I remember having the TV and VCR timed to record so I could watch when I came from school.
Me too, along with AMC. Then I'd keep the big episodes to watch again later (several times in some cases LOL). Can't imagine ever caring like that again for another program.
5:01...Dorian's sweet, swarthy face goes quite pale when she discovers that it's Alex is on the other end of the phone. The days without caller ID were rough.
It just would've said the name of the facility on it
@toyaliens Probably...but Dorian, introvert as she is, would have been able to screen the call.
@@Coryraisa Haha yeah, and probably wouldnt pick it up unless she thinks it could be Melinda or Addie.
4:00...Dorian, honey you did _NOT_ need a diet.
The era where dieting was the it thing
Alex stabbed the guard with a pen? Lol
Literally the ONLY thing worth watching is Alex. And I will say it again, the show never looked better than this era-
Really? I thought Cord vs Jason and Cassie vs Dorian was riveting.
I miss the bold, vibrant 80s lighting.
@@NoelComiX It definitely worked for the show's vibe and matched it!!!! My god I miss that era. 85-90 was everything
@@NoelComiX Agree. Some were fine, but many sets were maddeningly underlit over the next few years. Gottlieb didn't (or wouldn't) consider how her big screen aesthetics would translate to videotape - and then to TV screens.
Hang on folks, it will all change soon.
Is it just me or does it feel like this is being written on the fly? Characters are acting oddly erratic, I’m not taking about Alex. She’s acting the same lol. Also, this lighting….well it’s a little better.
Its the transition- they are trying to get things in the direction that they want.. To my knowledge, Alex was done at this point.. and somewhere in the next 4-6 weeks, they wanted her back... LeeAnn is such a drip. The only improvement over my memory is Jason. I don't mind him now. I hated him as a kid.
The characters had little to do it seems and a lot of characters were seldomly seen or straight up missing for long periods. I'm pretty sure characters like Brenda, Herb, and Rafe will be gone soon. It isn't a spoiler to say Megan (and Jake) are basically already on the way out.
Tina 🥵
The greatest
Andrea was the best but Karen had that Playboy bunny energy.
Cheers for the episode Alex is still mentally unstable but that’s a great thing cause that’s a whole lot of great entertainment for the viewers lol.
Well is Alex really mentally unstable or is she just faking it?With Alex there might not be a clear answer because maybe she's sane one minute and insane the next.
@@aph1976 shes unstable but making herself seem worse than she is
3:02 Talk him out of it Megan! Hes gonna be held prisoner and Cord will too.
Sarah spent last year being stalked and raped. Why would Bo have anyone follow her? Come on man.
They move Megan from story to story so fast!!!!
Ok. Tonya is growing on me. Lol
Roger just needs his own life.
The beginning of the end of Magen. Her in the hospital and the family telling her stories. This was the 1st time I actually cried about a character dying on a soap opera. The next was when Luna Moody was shot and killed
Same here!😢
I just saw the episode online and it really got me, so sad.
Really sad to think the next time Jake actually sees Megan is on her death bed. Powerful story lines in the months ahead.
I miss Rauch's style. I know there's one big last adventure at the end of this year, but everything is unraveling...
Agreed. I really had no idea how much I disliked this era until 30 years later. Minus 4-5 storylines, the entire Gottlieb era is VERY slow and VERY boring- A lot of DUD characters as well--
@@upontheventuraplus she seemed to have no understanding of the relationships between the characters. A lot of actor seemed to be driven away by her. Also, killing off Megan was dumb. If they were going to do that in the 80s she would have been taken out by some crazy mafia boss in an explosion only to return next year. Those were the days…
It really stood out how much of a dud this era was outside of a few good stories. Especially when compared to the other ABC shows. OLTL was a couple of notches below AMC and GH at this point. Whereas the OLTL of the Rauch era held it's own with those shows.
@@NoelComiX Not necessarily. Didi got electrocuted and spent eps on her death bed.
Sweetie Pie Kevin is way too good for LeeAnn and Jason. And what's with LeeAnn saying she should have driven? She was drinking!
Let me say I DO love the conversation between Tina and Megan- I would have loved for them to be tight as far back as Andrea's time- They could have been cool friends-
That hotel looks SO good with the new lighting and new color. Hard to believe that this was made from Stonecrest. The show is just so BORING--- And also, they are ushering out so many characters right now-- I respect that Malone tried to give these characters some respect, because NONE of them had been on very long, and none of them ever really worked for the show either.. (I like Andy far more as an adult then I did as a kid) RIP Ms. Booth :(
Guys turn on a light!!
I think 6 months from now 😢😢😢😢

Yes Jake will be back soon cheers for the episode great to see everyone is ok after the near miss between Kevin and cord
Jake🥰🥰🥰
I like Tony with Gabrielle.
yall see Megan walking like she is in pain. Could that be symptoms of the start of her illness? it's about to be so sad. I like Kevin and Jason. i really liked Andy's dress. they look nice. Showing Cassie and Bo and Leann and this Max together make for a boring episode. i can't wait to see them break up, lol. So nice to see Jake and Cord and Tina.
13:32 Is that a different actor playing Hunters father?
7:17 Yes go LeAnne! Wipe that smug smirk off Asa!
6:45 God Asa is insufferable!
22:02 LOL @ Carlo looking through Renees various headshots from the intro
Great to see Alex, I guess they decided to bring her back after fans asked cuz Tonja said her last appearance in the institution was supposed to be her last.
Thank you for the upload!
Cheers for the episode Jake is back even if it’s not permanently
finally, a glimpse of Jake🥰🥰🥰
More tomorrow
