What a GREAT movie. Totally underated. Everything from the script, to the actors, and the soundtrack is sensational. This scene is one of my favs for sure.
@@maryli2049 I'm a 24 year old student. What makes you think I am a middle-aged mom swooning over some 1980s pop star? And even if I were, that's your point?! Everybody gets older! 🤷🏻♀️
It's magnificent, this song. If this exist in the 80's, this was definitely a huge hit. Sounds like George Michael... Super, really good produced. Love this movie. Very funny acting by Hugh Grant. His sarcastic lines are hilarious.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I must be in an extremely special mood, I'vevseen this movie a couple times before, but it has been years. I’m sitting here watching the whole thing on Netflix, and this scene came up. For some reason it struck me as out of this world hilarious - the whole thing, an aging rockstar absolutely soaking up the love and attention of his adoring aging fans, then gets a little over ambitious and hurts himself - I literally have not laughed this hard in a very long time! My voice is practically hoarse, tears streaming down my face, feet kicking up to the ceiling, I can’t explain to you how hard I was laughing. Felt compelled to find the scene on TH-cam and tell the world. Why? I don’t know. I just had to. Lord help me, that was good medicine! That was so good, Hugh Grant, thank you so much! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I loved both Drew Barrymore and Kristen Johnston in this movie... two sisters who were on both ends of Hugh Grant's musical career. Loved how Kristen Johnston just throws her handbag at her bemused sister, pushes to the front of the crowd of goggle-eyed women, and reverts straight back to age 16. Awesome.
I've watched this scene when I was in a college and thinking it's hilarious to see women of 40s cheering their idol. Now I'm 35 and do the same thing ^^"
You need to watch some of the last David Cassidy shows. 55+ year old women reliving their mid-to-late-teens. But everyone seems to be having a great time (including Cassidy) so no harm, no foul.
Hahaha I love this movie and love this song. It’s giving Careless Whisper and George Michael. I feel like Hugh Grant’s character is based off of George but they made him a straight man. And plus his dance moves is definitely George Michael. RIP Γιώργος Κυριάκος Παναγιώτου ❤️❤️❤️❤️
tis movie has the finest collection of soundtracks.. once u listen to all the songs of it.. u r sure to get mesmerised to atleast 5 tracks.. love from chennai, india from diana
It is one of the greatest song ever sang by an actor he is one of most talented actor that I have ever seen. And he is greatest British actor of all time.
LOL So funny! So many funny details there like the nerdy businessmen husbands sitting in grumpy faces as they watch their wives going crazy over that singer.
And how about the other hit single he sand from his POP days at that Theme Park: "Dance With Me Tonight" with a a number of the crowd singing it as well. At the start of the film, that guy doing that TV bit about the band POP. and they had hit singles/albums from 1984 to 1992. 🙂 Would of loved this fake band to actually release a few 80's inspired singles with an album. I remember when seeing the trailer for this film I thought that.
I saw you across the dancefloor Out of the corner of my eye I felt the connection I don't know how, I don't know why I shouldn't of stayed When I saw you there with another man But as we slipped away I thought I heard you say This wasn't part of the plan [CHORUS:] Just a meaningless kiss It wasn't suppose to end up like this Just a meaningless kiss Ohh Ohh Just a meaningless kiss We knew it was wrong But we couldn't resist Just a meaningless kiss Til I fell in love With you But you didn't want me to Oh no And here we are two years later Too late to turn back now We gotta finish what we shouldn't have started We got to walk away somehow But it's easier said than done When two hearts beat as one And three hearts are one too many That's why we shouldn't have ever begun [CHORUS:] Just a meaningless kiss It wasn't suppose to end up like this Just a meaningless kiss Oh oh Just a meaningless kiss We knew it was wrong but we couldn't resist Just a meaningless kiss Til I fell in love With you We can't go on like this forever When we're not meant to be together So leave me here on my own From now on I guess I got to dance alone [CHORUS:] Just a meaningless kiss It wasn't suppose to end up like this Just a meaningless kiss Oh oh Just a meaningless kiss We knew it was wrong but we couldn't resist Just a meaningless kiss But I'm still in love With you No matter what I do
My friend saw him at a big Christmas Party at a hotel in the Bahamas and she wanted to talk to him but her dad wouldn't let her. He said not to, "Bother the poor man." : (
Прекрасный фильм, такой лёгкий, добрый! Песня, как только её услышала в фильме, сразу же засела в моей голове) Когда настроение не очень, то включаю этот отрывок из фильма!)
Christmas Day 2018 - watching this now. Brilliant stuff. The stunning Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant utterly not taking himself too seriously and utterly enjoying it. I'd quite like to do this for karaoke :)
This movie is just to funny the acting is so good I saw this in theater I love Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore in this movie they work real good together pop goes my heart is so Cheesy are they trying to be like wham I got this movie on dvd I like it 3 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️👍❣️🥰😎🤪
As many of you pointed out, it resambles a lot with Carless Whisper but it's also very similar to Lie To Me by Gary Barlow too. In a good way. I dig all three.
I was a production assistant on this movie. The "girls tell me the truth are these pants too tight" line was improvised and hilarious.
hahahahahahahaha can totally believe! Hugh Grant is hilarious
I think they meant Andrew Ridgley even though the song is clearly a Careless Whispers knock off.🤣🤣
@@SanketDhume i love him
@@SanketDhume debatable, Hugh Grant was famously reserved and almost half depressed during the period he was filming this film
Its true i was the pants
The jealous husbands is the part that made this scene.
True:))))
I thought it was more like bored husbands who have no taste for cute Brit pop singers haha
They're all like "this is why I hate reunions"
*Drinks glass 🍷
The angry husbands at the table just crack me up. SO FUNNY.
i think they are more bored and confused
Time to crack up again 🤣🤣🤣
Best "Careless Whisper" parody ever! lol xD
Love so much this move and this scene.
Felipe Lopes I just realised that it’s parodying that song 😂😂😂
@@alicemartine7743 PoP! was styled after Wham!
Pop goes my Heart is a parody of Wake me up before you go-go.
For real
What a GREAT movie. Totally underated. Everything from the script, to the actors, and the soundtrack is sensational. This scene is one of my favs for sure.
Indeed. The script is clever and hilarious, the songs the best parodies ever, the actors' chemistry wonderful. Just rewatched.
Agree. Finished watching it ten minutes ago. Genius movie.
It’ll become a cult classic in a few years, like Love Actually.
"Girls tell me the truth. Are these pants too tight?" 😂
I rlly said very high...
Hugh nailed it with this movie 😂 such a great actor
So funny when he gets hurt "it wasn´t supposed to en up like this" LMFAO !
This cracks me up every time! All those crazy girls that are now working moms and wives but still nothing but cheesy teenagers inside!😆😆
teenagers aren't cheesy! the moms are.
You are mom too.and will get even older jaha

Hugh says he hates dancing but he looked like he was having so much fun during this scene 😂

Not a real song....but they nailed the 80s vibe in every way. It definitely gets stuck in my head every time I hear it 😂😂😂
I think Hugh grant has amazing talent. I hope he is ok. I never see him in movies these days. A very special talent.
see The Gentlemen, it's on Netflix

I died when Hugh pulled his hip! 😂
I always go to this for a laugh. When he hurts his leg 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I've watched this movie like ten times. It is sooooooo good. The music and lyrics are top notch!
The best actor in terms of romance ever is hugh grant.... No one can replace him ever....
The bridge of the song is so based on Careless Whispers. 😂 But the screenwriter had Andrew Ridgley in mind.
LOL So funny! So many funny details there like the nerdy businessmen husbands sitting in grumpy faces as they watch their wives going crazy over that singer.
The scene where he threw his back out, i couldn't stop laughing. I laughed so hard that i was crying.
I love how these songs are so much like "Wham". Meaningless Kiss = Careless Whisper. It's great! :) Yeah...I'm an 80's girl. 1985 to be exact. :)
GOSH! Hugh can really shake it and for sure he has style!!! LOL
I LOVE this movie.

Great parody of "Careless Whisper"!
This just unlocked a memory. I was walking around with this in my head. Forgot how much I loved this movie.
beetween THIS song and POP GOES MY HEART this cud have been a seriously brilliant 80s band

it was basically a Wham knock-off
Hugh, you are marvelous
This is my most favorite part of this film. All girls are so hilarious especially drew sister
Love this movie and definitely love this scene -- it wasn't supposed to end like this 😂😂😂Hugh Grant is awesome
I saw you across the dancefloor
Out of the corner of my eye
I felt the connection
I don't know how, I don't know why
I shouldn't of stayed
When I saw you there with another man
But as we slipped away
I thought I heard you say
This wasn't part of the plan
[CHORUS:]
Just a meaningless kiss
It wasn't suppose to end up like this
Just a meaningless kiss
Ohh Ohh
Just a meaningless kiss
We knew it was wrong
But we couldn't resist
Just a meaningless kiss
Til I fell in love
With you
But you didn't want me to
Oh no
And here we are two years later
Too late to turn back now
We gotta finish what we shouldn't have started
We got to walk away somehow
But it's easier said than done
When two hearts beat as one
And three hearts are one too many
That's why we shouldn't have ever begun
[CHORUS:]
Just a meaningless kiss
It wasn't suppose to end up like this
Just a meaningless kiss
Oh oh
Just a meaningless kiss
We knew it was wrong but we couldn't resist
Just a meaningless kiss
Til I fell in love
With you
We can't go on like this forever
When we're not meant to be together
So leave me here on my own
From now on I guess I got to dance alone
[CHORUS:]
Just a meaningless kiss
It wasn't suppose to end up like this
Just a meaningless kiss
Oh oh
Just a meaningless kiss
We knew it was wrong but we couldn't resist
Just a meaningless kiss
But I'm still in love
With you
No matter what I do
And three hearts are too many!! Classic line!
Now that I see lyrics, I see that it's parody of Careless Whisper xD and the saxophone
When his leg cramps I busted out laughing lmaooooo yung joc dance
My favorite scene... Cracks me the hell up!!😂😂
That's the main reason why I like it. Besides, it is hugh grant!
