I was a little stumped how to undo the wire harnesses in there so it helped to watch someone do it 👍🏻 I managed to do it without removing the plastic body trim pieces entirely just popped them out enough to reach in and get it done 😊
Thank you so much, the hardest was pulling the airbag..crushed my fingers a bit. I did it on a 2010 and is very similar, didnt have to remove that metal bracket. Also new part came with a plastic piece that needs to be removed, is only there so new clock spring doesnt rotate. Thanks again!
I need some help, I was replacing a blower motor on my 2016 nissan versa note, I disconnected the steering at the top of the column and forgot to straighten the wheels they were turned, Now my steering wheel is off center about half way, can this be my problem, can disconnect it turn the steering wheel straight and replace these parts?
My 2012 Nissan Versa had a third retaining spring clip at the bottom of the wheel; if your vehicle does too, know there is no external entry point. After unlatching the right and left airbag housing prawls from the wheel mounted retaining springs, you'll need to rotate the top of the airbag housing toward yourself while depressing the bottom. You may find it's a bit tricky, it can take a bit of precise force. Be careful though, the airbag housing can have too much momentum after clearing the retaining spring and stress the wires attached to it and the clock spring. If you're frustrated, I recommend finding a picture of the rear side of the airbag and work through how the prawl interacts with the steering wheel. I will try to upload some. An extra set of hands could make the process more nimble too: depress both spring clips simultaneously, while the other person leverages the air bag. Have patience and good luck!!
