Gravitic technology would be astonishing. It is the force we understand least; I'd be 1000 times more convinced if someone claimed the Chinese were going to build an orbital beanstalk. If they really had anti-gravity, they could build a perpetual motion machine to generate infinite energy. And claiming that this has been available "for years" makes it all the more implausible.
