I'm going to sound like the old person because I am at this point. AI is going to be our undoing. People are trying to make their lives easier and all it's doing is dumbing down the world. The majority of people aren't using AI to learn or to make things better for others; they're using it for entertainment or to write their papers for classes. Even the current president used AI to write his executive orders. He used it to manipulate opinions during the campaign.

The overall discourse in the media/online spheres is not about the onstensible horror of the crash, but rather the conversation is almost instantly about the government-run FAA, and that perhaps it would be 'safer' if it were privatized. It's a strange, online discourse, given the horrificness of the incident.

Freedom of speech sounds great, but it is essentially used as a pressure valve, and if you go “too far” as it were, if you target the wrong individuals, organizations (or foreign nations that may or may not be committing a G) you are silenced in one way or another. Voter suppression is just one reason for a general strike.

In utah half of my houehold of registered voters were denied the right to vote because the state had us labled as "inactive". Even though we were for sure registered.

There's no way a guy who tried to throw the last election by "finding" votes, appointing fake electors, attempting a coup wherein his own VP was in danger of being hanged, stole classified documents and left them out in the open, became a convicted felon and was generally hated by everyone outside of his rabid, mindless base, had next to no attendance at his rally's to the extent he couldn't even fill a fucking stadium could win EVERY swing state and other states that went Democratic in 2020. Kamala on the other hand had massive lines for like a mile in several key states, sold out every venue she booked, and we're to believe she couldn't muster enough to even win the popular vote? Bull. Unfortuately I just don't think people will do anything about strikes or anything else. People are just sick of so many accusations Trump and the Republicans have pretended to call out so often that people are just gonna ignore it. As someone who's not American, I thought something was off about certain things about the elction of 2024 but the 2016 election too!

If that many votes were thrown out, then who knows if we really lost the house and senate?
