    I think a gothic style cathedral on the upper platform with a square in front would really spice the higher part of the city up:) Especially as it would rise above the other buildings

    I think an engine shed would fit really well. An old industrial building like an engine shed makes a good visual transition between the newer city and the old half timbered village.

    • @xianartman
      @xianartman ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Agreed, the simpler connection would work fine, and I worry about space for a train shed, but I think it would be nice.

    • @Matty12787
      @Matty12787 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Looking at the space, do you think it could support a switch off the main line running into another switch that connects to the other track but still have off the opposite side of the switch to go into an Engine shed too?

      It doesn't make sense though to cut a second tunnel under the city that leads to nothing but an engine shed... building tunnels isn't cheap and for the city to do it there must have been a reason. If it connected to the other track, it would make much more sense.

  • @cloudmaan4035
    @cloudmaan4035 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Personally, I really like the idea of an engine shed. If Thomas has taught me anything, it's that trains need a place to sleep, too.

  • @rastkogojgic699
    @rastkogojgic699 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    There are a couple of things you could add to that empty space between the tracks:
    1. An industiral style building, like a factory
    2. A lake with kayaks and boats
    3. Train shed

  • @ZaberZlayer7
    @ZaberZlayer7 ปีที่แล้ว +51

    I love the improvements you've done for your city.
    In my opinion,having an Engine House for the trains would 0be incredible, as it could be where trains are stored and repaired/upgraded.
    hope you have a wonderful day!

  • @Jaydenfok
    @Jaydenfok ปีที่แล้ว +21

    im not 100% sure if it would fit but the empty space with the train siding could be used for a logging mill, using the siding as a loading platform for logs. you could try and slightly modify the river as well to make a water wheel.

  • @awildmoosey507
    @awildmoosey507 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    I like the idea of the train yard in that space! You could also make it a train historical monument in the area between the tracks to show off an old lego steam train model and have it be a type of tourist attraction

  • @jaypeeters
    @jaypeeters ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Definitely a shed with a turntable outside, if you add a turntable you can also connect the other train track at any angle you want.

  • @B4T4LI4
    @B4T4LI4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Would definitely connect the 2 tracks. It wouldnt make sense for the track to end in an engine shed from the main station platform. You could always make a siding from that track afterwards if you want to fill that space up. Love the updates so far!

  • @-Hari-03
    @-Hari-03 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    i think connecting the tracks will allow for a bit more open space and will allow the village to feel a bit more distant from the nice new city

  • @idk-lz4nl
    @idk-lz4nl ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I think that it would be an interesting addition to see an open-air auditorium somewhere in the city. Unlike a theatre, visitors to the museum would also be able to see the entirety of the structure which could allow it to be used for more storytelling.

  • @tanguyruchti
    @tanguyruchti ปีที่แล้ว +4

    The engine shed is the best option for me. An old style with the CFF Crocodile inside would look very good ❤

  • @fernandoruiz4919
    @fernandoruiz4919 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Awesomew work! In my opinion, connecting the rail to the village station makes total sense BUT there needs to be a reason for a siding so near the main line. As there are a lot of trees everywhere and you already have a train loaded with logs, it might make sense to add a sawmill with its own loading station, maybe with a crane and some sheds too. That kind of building could help making sense of the transition needed between the rural area and the more functional and modern area near the harbour/docks. Also a train depot would be awesome, but why not both?
    Keep up the good work, mate!

  • @migueldenboer5186

  • @holdencawfield9664

  • @bjrn-oskarrnning2740
    @bjrn-oskarrnning2740 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I think a connection would be best in that corner; the engine shed (which would also be really cool) can be placed somewhere else. If you leave the triangle between the tracks open, it'd make a nice field for that very brave deer (and its children, maybe?)

  • @beachhouse13
    @beachhouse13 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I've commented on this before, but not sure if you ever saw it. I really think you need some disused infrastructure, especially around the railroad tracks. It is so common to see disused spurs with vegetation growing around it some old buildings or foundations. I think instead of an engine shed (or in addition) add an old goods yard with buffers directly beyond the points, but the tracks continuing on. Then, as I said before, you can fill in with vegetation and have the old platform foundation.

    These updates are really awesome! Maybe for the background hills beyind the timber houses, you could add something to break it up a little to keep from getting repetitive. Maybe a radio tower, or a small radar dome which are often found in higher places, or even just a few more rocks or trees or something. But maybe that would distract too much from the things in the foreground.

  • @jaws12413
    @jaws12413 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Connecting the rails together would make a proper connection for a loop, but an Engine Shed does sound better.
    Though if there is enough room with the switch track that connects to the rest of the tracks you could put a small engine shed/workshop right by it.
    And maybe what makes that engine shed special is we can see Lego people are working on restoring an old steam engine or doing general maintenance or either another engine or rolling stock.

    Fantastic work on your Lego city! The attention to detail and creativity you bring to each build is truly impressive. I've been following your channel for a while now, and I wanted to suggest adding a cargo train station to enhance the transportation aspect of your city. Instead of connecting the rails to the another, you can build there some sort of end of tracks for cargo loading and deloading. Keep up the amazing content, and I can't wait to see how your city continues to evolve!

    I would connect the two lines, making it easier to access the further platform in the main town. However, since you are running the 9volt system, you would have to connect it to the track closer to the viewing area at the little village (away from the station building) to not short circuit the layout. I would love to see a train shed, but the extra track make more sense, unless you can do both. Glad your feeling better!

    You could do both. Have a shed parrallel with the track going to the left via a switch on that track, and then have the siding connect to the track that currently ends. I would also add other small railway-like buildings to fill in the spaces, so it wouldn't look empty and kind of like a maitmence or repair area.
