      @@PrimoSchnevi brother, "I miss it" has nothing to do with how recent this was. What the _hell_ did I just watch? I heard "Punk Rock MBA" say Deafheaven is "hipster black metal" so I _had_ to hear part of a song to know what this is. Only "part" since it's gonna suck, right? I just watched almost an hour of magic. It was strange they were at a hardcore festival. "This doesn't fit!" I _do not_ like this music. But whatever happened on that stage, and in that crowd was beautiful, stunning, captivating. It's hard to describe! Was there a single hardcore kid that could say anything negative about that? That was possibly the highlight of Outbreak Festival! It looked like the highlight of those _gifted_ musician's careers! They sure played like it was! I still probably won't put Deafheaven on my stereo, but WOW!

    • @RibeiroGames12
      @RibeiroGames12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i truly believe that if u put any metal band to a hardcore crowd nowadays would be appealing to them. the hardcore scene have been very metallic for awhile now. thrash riffs and death metal were common within metalcore since the 90s. and now its way more common to see people embracing blackened music whtin the hc community.
      btw, deafheaven is as melodic as lets say.. counterparts and one step closer who were also there

      @@RibeiroGames12 I agree, metal and hardcore are closer musically than ever now. I just saw Drain, Incendiary, God's Hate, Knocked Loose, Terror and the crowd screams "hardcore!" But these bands differ little from metal, and that's fine. The dark, evil, inverted cross, Satan stuff is all over hardcore now, too. I hate that shit & don't think it belongs but that's another long story. I remember in the mid 80s watching favorite bands like DRI, COC, Black Flag, FUs, even Circle Jerks wanted to appeal more to the metal & thrash crowd with the album "Wonderful." _Great_ album, BTW! I don't care what genre a song is from, if I like it is all that matters. But my favorite music still stands apart, old school punk rock. Current favorites like Amyl and the Sniffers, Gel, The Chats, Restraining Order and Conservative Military Image, old bands like Minor Threat, NoMeansNo, Government Issue, Adrenaline OD (I'll see them play a few times soon!), and The Vandals (ditto on seeing them live in 24).

    Great to see a recent Deafheaven performance of such a superb quality, thank you very much! And it is indeed interesting that they did not play a single song from Infinite Granite. Though I found that album lackluster and underdeveloped on balance, I think the songs from it are quite enjoyable and impactful in the context of a set list integrating pieces from all their records. The contrasts are an integral part of what makes Deafheaven's sound amazing, and while these are nearly absent on Infinite Granite, they can be attained in a live concert.

    I've never been a huge fan of Deafheaven on record, but I watched them while waiting for Touche.
    What an incredible performance. Absolutely sublime. Blew me away.

    What a beautiful video and performance. I just got into Deafheaven last year and hopefully I could see them sometime soon. Brought to the Water hits hard every time. Can’t wait for Touche’s video :)

    The very best Deafheaven live performance record I've seen.
    Great footage,both guitar tracks audible exceptionally well.Voals are like IRL.the only reservation I have is about drums,they seem to be supressed.
    Not much place for bass,but again that's how it is IRL in some music genres.
    In summary everything comes together.
