People keep telling me im doing a good job but I'm still always worried about my videos😅 I do put a LOT of effort and energy into making these videos so getting positive feedback like this means so much, THANKS HEAPS!🙏
@@rccrazy Keep up the great video's mate, your doing fine with your video content. Life can get a bit to seroius at times for everyone, rc's are a great outlet for all of us. Take care mate.
Yes I know I shouldn't take things so serious, there are lots of people with much larger and more important issues than myself, the brain is a mysterious thing😅 RC is definitely therapeutic! Thank you so much and you too, take care🙏
I really appreciate that Mal thank you🙏 Yes I had to have a bit of a drift, felt amazing to drift actually🤤 Might have to try the actual drift wheels at some stage.
I have the blue metal roller being deliverd on Thursday, I also have the red carbon roller being deliverd some time after that. They seem to be more stable as the speed increases, perhaps down to the aero on the body & fins working better the higher the speed. They are great looking cars for sure.
Nice! They do have strange wobbly characteristics at lower speeds, think it's the whole car in general, not the best geometry but can definitely be improved👌
Mate, you are one of few youtubers who haven't crashed their AK-917 on their first run, well done! Your driving is actually damn good too. I received my order on the weekend, can't wait for decent dry weather to give it a run. I'm in Melbourne also.
Thank you very much! I am running a gyro but only at about 3% or something😅 but I have been RCing for about 20 years so I guess that would help a little. Nice you got one! but yeah weather is the killer at the moment, bit wet today🤦 I'm around Altona Newport sort of area if you ever feel like going for a speedrun or bash, always better with more people👌
@@rccrazy Yeah I was thinking about the compeitions, the Time Trial event needs over 30 AK-917's if other Melbourners are keen we could get a group going and put an entry in. The prizemoney isn't my priority though, I'm more about participation and seeing a big bunch of these cars at the same time, meet new people and make memories. I played around with RC a couple decades ago and only recently got back into it late last year and jumped onto the AK-917 as it look's well made. So if you know of any group that's gonna enter let me know. I'm in the east, Box Hill but doesn't matter I can travel.
I don't actually know many people who get into RCs other than 2 or 3 close mates. For about 15 years now I have lived with some major mental disabilities that basically eliminated my ability to leave my house, thanks to this channel I'm finally getting better, very slowly but I definitely need to start getting out more and socialising again😅 I don't have a licence so that makes thinks harder but my dad is AWESOME, drives me anywhere I need when he can. I'm up for it if you can find enough people to do this Time Trial thing and hopefully I can get to the location you choose🤞
@@rccrazy I'm sorry to hear of your difficulty and thank you for being open about discussing mental health issues - the content you make on your channel is definitely a great symbol of your achievement! Rediscovering RC has been a much needed outlet for me to manage things better and think clearer. Driving and flying RC gives so much zen, it really is therapeutic. I don't know how many AK-917 units have been sold globally, and how many made it to Victoria but it would be interesting to find out. Feels like an exclusive club so far.

Yes maybe have to put a post up on Facebook seeking 30 Victorians to join the fun. And thank you so much for such positive feedback!🙏 I work quite hard on these videos trying to get out to drive and not having a PC makes things difficult but it's all worth it when I get to chat with and sometimes even meet amazing people like yourself! RC in general is pure therapy in my life😌
Great video my friend, I was wondering if you recorded putting the electronics in. Unfortunately instructions on how to put the servo in so that it doesn’t interfere with the drive shaft were not included. I was hoping you could shed some light on this process, thanks. Can’t wait to see what you do next with this car.
Thank you very much! To the servo mount issue, I was under the impression that they had fixed that after the pre production models🤔 Mine did not have that issue so I can't really help. Very sorry Jim, wish I had a answer for you😕
Love my rtr so far!!…. Haven’t set up the roller yet. I tried to modify the motor mount for the smaller gear but it stripped under braking, my fault 💯 but I got it to 71 mph!!
Nice! 71mph is good for just changing the spur👌 And yes I totally understand, these plastic gears with such small teeth aren't really the best option for speed or weight. You can run mod1 pinions for a spur as long as they have a 5mm bore, the input gear shafts are 5mm👌
@@rccrazy thanks for the reply…. Do you know right what the shaft size is on the stock motor? It doesn’t appear to be 5mm … mod 1 gears are for sure going in the roller as the motor I have is 5 mm should get good speed out of it!!
I would say your stock motor has a 3.175mm shaft, wouldn't be any smaller at least I hope not😅 Your other motor I'm assuming is like 3670 or something so yes should be good if it's geared correctly👌
It's feeling very grounded and not too twitchy at high speeds with steering rates turned down, with high steering rates it is all over the place😅 Can't wait for the challenge! Thanks for watching Dan👍
Great vid..... I know you've been hassling the poor postie everyday. Enjoy, looking forward to see what you can do with it, and the first high speed crash.
Yes hopefully you get yours soon🤞 I'm sure you will enjoy it though😁 I've not had the best experience with their customers service either over the last few months. Hopefully they get on top of this soon!
@@rccrazy the roller and the brushless came in today… we’re on the porch when I got home!!…. So maybe I can get one going and make a video in the next couple days … lol…. Good luck in the speed challenge!!
I love the engrish on their website, constantly talking about "bashing" with the car how it can run on grass outdoor.. And this sentence.. "it can bash at an amazing speed of 200km/h over on-road and light off-road surfaces. Enjoy yourself in the thrill of the game!" Haha, 200kmh off-road!? Really!
Yep🤣 Yeah quite a few people have attended reaching 100mph off-road and realised how hard it really is, 200kph is definitely out of reach with our current technology I think😅 Thanks for watching Pete✌️
If you mean the speed claim then yes! Technically if they themselves have not actually hit 200kph with this chassis then wouldn't that be false advertising😅
Good thing I got the Alloy Roller version😅 Honestly the alloy roller is a decent cars with a good quality system but yes I have seen some not so good feedback on these in the past weeks especially the carbon version.
@@rccrazy a roller alloy chasis might be good honestly, I didn't know they sold a roller. Imo the carbon is fake from them and all the parts are from wl toys. When they do the release for the cheap price might be worth a roller but they raise price after little bit.
Yes they sell both alloy and "carbon" versions as rollers. The carbon fibre is technically not fake but the centre layers are not woven carbon no. And from what I know this is not a remake or copy of any wltoys or LCracing, I think this was designed by Rlaarlo, they did say they put in a year of research and development but I questioned that from day 1🤭 I've never seen this chassis design anyway though🤔

Why the hype as i see its week rc the breaks very easy.Dont take my word just look into it before buying
