Excellent work in every department. But, yikes, such a dark world. This is one of the few Dust shorts that I would like to see realized as a full-length feature. So many disturbing questions to be answered. Kudos to everyone on the project, especially JB, the director. You have real vision.
Thank you so much, thats too kind! We plan to make more stories in this world, we designed so much detail when world building that didn't make it to the final film. Many more characters and many more stories to tell.. perhaps not all so dark! :)
Hi, I have already written a feature version of the Wastelander, with detailed accounts of the terrifying fauna and plant insect arachnid cross species life forms. With may I add a good gloop of dark humour.

😂😂😂 seems every Dust short has someone who says a similar statement. Fact is, on the few occasions there was a series to a short on the Dust channel, the viewership drastically decreased episode after episode 🤔. Seems there are a lot of emotional commenters in social media land😅
Shorts like this are the reason I keep watching Dust. Great visuals, action progression, the inclusion of the nanny-bot was a nice touch. Nothing to add, just thanks for this, and keep up the good work!
Thank you for your encouraging words. I loved creating this world with Jonathan. There was so much more we wanted to add both with the visuals and dialogue, but time and dare I say costing stopped us. Still, there is a feature script in the safe, so watch this space.
This is probably the best film I've seen in DUST. The detail in the world creation is off the charts, I kept pausing just to look at the creatures on the background! Strong Wasteland (the RPG) vibes. It's weird that you can feel sad for a talking ring!
Gorgeously executed (no pun intended) the jungle, the bizarre flora and fauna, the _moon!_ But utterly bleak and horrifying, especially with the Ring's commentary trying to soothe and protect a child ....while also, prophetically, stating "better safe than tortured and killed." Odd connection between the 'supermarket' and the 'recycling' plant. Left wondering who set the elaborate trap, the briefly glimpsed aliens, or if the machines worked it out themselves - either option is disturbing as hell. Strange, beautiful, bleak as hell, and horrifying. Interesting combination.
Surprisingly awesome, it's been a while since I've been able to say that, which is why I say 'surprisingly', so very well done to all involved in this. The story really pulls you into this world quickly & the pace was just right. Don't listen to those suggesting a full movie, we know the before & the after, so this was well enough to tell the whole concept, great.
Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed it. A great point...I think if we did a feature it would be a completely new story set in the same world. There’s still so much of the world to explore! Thanks for watching
This was AMAZING! Was not expecting that ending but when he was dragged down the corridor and I saw the processing sign I KNEW this was going to be horrific but it wound up being worse than anything I thought it was going to be. Bleak doesn't even begin to describe this ending. Very, VERY well done.
Thank you! Building that creature scene took so long! The challenge in getting those angles with limited live action plates was immense- so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching and the comment! :)
So the "Oracle" is the dragon we all chase when buying material possessions in efforts to fill the lonely void we have in our lives. Only to be faced with the "Security" that will eventually plummet us into a financial hole of darkness.
