    Hi Grace, thank you for taking time and sharing your experience. I appreciate your effort to give us a preview of CELTA.
    I am mentally prepared no matter what the intensity of the program.

    Hi Grace , I’m starting my CELTA in a few days . I am anxious because English is not my first language but at the same time I am excited . Your videos were really helpful when I was researching about the course and I am sure iIll be watching them again. Thankyou for taking time to do all this .

      I am going through this book by Martin Parrott and I think I should have known about this months before I even applied for the course because there is so much to learn!
      And these consolidation exercise at the end of each chapter really put me off. My question is how much do you really use it /need, if you are teaching B1 level for example

      Ardian
      I had to leave after a week but it was going really good.
      If you don’t have commitments like a toddler for example, you’ll do fine!
      Just stay organized and ahead of everything. I really enjoyed my one week there!
      If you have read one of the learning teaching books , it will actually be really helpful. Plus you know exactly what you’re going to teach every day so no problems if your grammar needs some revision ! Plus I found the videos by jo gokanga really helpful and also I did a pre CELTA course from udemy 7-8 hrs which showed me exactly what to expect from each assignment and stage so I felt really prepared , that relieved a lot of stress!

    I'm starting CELTA next Monday and I'm so grateful for your videos. I'm a little bit scared but motivated at the same time. For me it also has the frigthening part that English is not my first language (I'm Spanish and I'm taking the course in the UK). I try to convince myself that the good part is that I can relate to the students to some extent as I had to study grammar, vocabulary, etc. but obviously sometimes I get doubts about my own English abilities. Anyway, thanks again.. I'm sure I'll rewatch them while I'm preparing my lessons and panicking.

    Dear Grace, thank you very much for the videos, I am planning to do the Celta course in Miami this June but I still don't have the required English level so I decided to go earlier and study general English there for 11 weeks, I hope its enough for me to take the Celta course. I confess that the grammar lessons freaks me out because I am not good at it but to teach I will have to learn so, let's do it. Best regards for you and thanks again.

    Hi Grace,
    Thank you very much for taking the time making these videos about CELTA. I find them extremely helpful as I too am thinking about taking the course in Ho Chi Minh City. Although I currently reside in OC, CA. I intend to teach in VN once I completed the course.

    the big problem for me is "Essay Writing " which is my nightmare and Achilles heels .I was never good at though.still searching about some tips and working on it.could you give me some helper links for it Angle ?

    • @thegracecass
      @thegracecass  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Don't worry to much about the essays. The instructors mostly just want to know that you are processing and can apply what you are learning. You don't have to be a great writer! Honestly, it was probably the easiest part of the course!

    Good evening, thank you so much for your detailed overview on CELTA course, it is very helpful and comprehensive for new comers like me, I am preparing now for pre_ interview because I cleared both essay and grammar section. If you provide me with any suggestions about pre-interview it will be considered on a priority basis.
    Regards, and thanks in advance.

    Thank you for your sharing your experience, Grace! Your videos has given an insight of 4 weeks of learning period.
    I am a bit curious about the Grammar and Vocabulary part. Is it going to be intensive means very detailed or just touches the main parts of it?

    first of all, thank you so much for the great efforts you make in order to transfer the necessary information about celta...they are just amazing....i m not a native speaker and am actually thinking of applying for a celta course but i am confused about choosing between Scotland and Turkey..i think that a native speaking country would give me the chance to more effectively practise English since i would be using it at school and outside the school ..while in Turkey , i would pay less fees for the registration as well for the accomodation..in addition to this, i would not need to go through the visa process which is quite tiring in our country....i would be so greatful if you provide me with any useful ideas regarding this matter.....thanks in advance.

    Thank you for your amazing videos. They helped me a lot. But still I have some questions.
    I wanted know is there any specific book you should teach during the program or you chose the material yourself?
    another question is that my course will start in 5 months and I was wondering if there is any CELTA book I should study or is there anything I can do for the written assignments beforehand?
    During the programme did you cover any books or there were just handouts?

    Hi Grace, these videos are so helpful! But let me ask you this: what was the man/woman ratio in your class? I guess it's a bit of a given that women will be overrepresented (you used the word "sorority") - I'm wondering, though, by how much it was the case in your group.

    Hello mam,
    Thanks for sharing your valuable experience with us. Further, I have some questions related to test , like, How and when the CELTA is conducted after the 4 weeks class. Above all, What is the Level of the Test either Harder or Hardest. If is it possible for you then please made a video on that as well.
    Not only I but whole of the CELTA aspirants will be obliged.
    Thanks & Regards
    Love from INDIA

    Great videos Grace!
    I have one question: did you have to teach advanced classes (C1 or C2) during the course or was the upper intermediate (B2) the highest level you taught? I am at C1 level of English which allows me to start the course. I am wondering how non-native speakers did during the course.
    Thank you for taking the time to make CELTA more understandable to us!

    • @thegracecass
      @thegracecass  8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am wanting to do the CELTA in the UK portsmouth and I have a stammer. I am a organised person and like to get to places early. I'm most nervous about the speaking and the workload. Any advice on the speaking in particular. also on how much workload there is. It seems everyone is saying there is a mountain of paperwork. I'm nervous and anxious

    Hello Grace, I loved all your videos on the CELTA thank you so much! I'm about to start it and I was wondering, how much do I need to know about the phonemic chart? is it required that we know how to translate every single word in phonemic? thanks in advance...

    • @thegracecass
      @thegracecass  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We went over it in a lesson but, no, you don't have to do much with it. We just got familiar with it.

    Hi Grace! Thanks for your videos. I would like to actually take part in the CELTA experience next year, but I am not a native E speaker. How did the chap from Egypt cope with it? I am worried about my possible lack of English fluency and grammar competence..

    • @thegracecass
      @thegracecass  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Samuele Crotti I think there are plenty of non-native speakers who do just fine! The grammar is difficult for everyone, even the native speakers, so you just teach it to yourself before creating your lesson plan. It's not to bad! Good luck!

    Dear Madam, your video is really fantastic to help the future trainees. After getting the admission to the CELTA training if somebody wants to do the course in abroad, how can he/she get the visa to have entry to that country for accomplishing the CELTA course?

    • @thegracecass
      @thegracecass  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll most likely be brought in on a tourist or business visa that will allow you to stay for the course, then it would be transferred to a working visa if you got a job in the country.

    Hi Grace,
    Thanks a lot for your videos, I have a question please,
    You recommended Learning Teaching by Jim Scrivener, before doing CELTA, and I read it. If you want to recommend another book which of the following will you choose:
    CELTA Trainee's book
    Or
    How to teach English?
    This is my question,
    Thanks in advance

    • @thegracecass
      @thegracecass  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Learning Teaching was the book that I found by far the most helpful. Your CELTA instructors may also have a few recommendations whilst on the course. You'll get a lot of helpful handouts while on the course as well.

    • @thegracecass
      @thegracecass  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't be nervous! Just be prepared to work hard and stay focused! If I can do it, you can! Most people on the course have no experience.
