- Live bait is always king, but sometimes when the fish are fired up, live bait isn't needed. A fishing lure that mimics the live bait can work better especially when the bait gets eaten off the hook in a fraction of a second. Today we learned this lesson while fishing for white perch. This fish is known for its tasty meat and aggressive fight. It is the most fun to catch these fish using an ultra light rod set up, since they are smaller fish, the light line and rod make the fight much funner.

I really want to catch some white perch for eating this year. I usually just catch the yellow perch in the spots I fish, but I know they’re around. My favourite fish to catch to eat in my area is brook trout. Tastes just like salmon. I like doing a Chinese recipe where I steam the fish whole with ginger and garlic, and I make a sauce to pour on the fish boiling hot before serving. And fresh cut green onions right before pouring the sauce over.

Do you guys in America have bag limits and size limits .Here in Australia we have very tough rules for boating as well.Some of his fish look very small.
We sure do. They vary by state, season, and fish. One state might be stricter on a particular fish than another. Some fish are so plentiful there are very generous limits. Others you cant keep at all.

I like fishing specks, and red fish. My fish of choice is Channei mullet, specks, and flounder.
I wod love 2 fish but unfortunately in Trinidad and Tobago fishing stuff is pretty expensive, 1us 4 a hook so imagine if u ha 2 buy everything 2 fish better u buy a fish 🐠 an cook it . bless man.

My favorite fishing spot! Drop a bottom rig down against just about any piling on the Chesapeake Bay bridge and you will catch something. If you run a roller net across the Sandy Point boat ramp you will get more grass shrimp than you can use.

Blue fish, sheeps head, fluke, black fish, weak fish or sea trout, Black Sea bass, Porgies, and some more I know I’m missing! could even catch squid late October all through November ! Get out there and fish !
I use those small shrimp very successfully when nothing is biting. Problem is the same as with using smaller lures, you catch more small fish but potentially miss the big ones if they are around. Trade of quality fish for quantity.
Alot of people avoid plastic lures nowadays because of the effects on the eco system but that said I do use a set of 4 or 6 artificial pink shrimp 🍤 for mackerel and whiting.

I use the elazatech shrimp from zman and caught stripers on it all year. More success than my friends using live bait.
Those new Zman shrimp are KILLER! I attach them to the jig head with dental floss and superglue. No need to readjust after a catch!

There hitting the grass shrimp not the lure. Jig without the grass shrimp that way your testing the lure. Almost everything eats grass shrimp. We catch bluegill and crappie and bass on grass shrimp.
