Thanks for the love brother! I couldn't find the videos I needed outside of fluff and click bait so this is the result! If you think more good videos are needed, lmk and I'll buy another one and do the swap again with more focus on documentation.
I dropped 175cc qmb 4 stroke in my scooter, I had a 50cc 100cc big bore kit but finally just went for it, dropped right in no problem, 42 millimeter carb racing CDI no limiter, racing coil, new valves and cam, anything that can be done has been done, custom exhaust designed and welded by myself, fastest I've got it was about 80 and I had plenty left I was scared to take it any faster with these small ass tires. Next step is to paint it because it looks like complete s***, I love pulling up to people thinking it's a 50cc and flying by their ass, anybody that knows scooters will know it's not a 50cc just by hearing it.
I'm about to do the same thing to mine I don't have a key switch on my scooter at all my question is where did you hook up the black wire from the regulator
I appreciate you bro. My question is regarding the rear wheel as I haven't decided if I use the 150cc wheel or the 50cc wheel. Did you have to change the gearing? The 150cc is designed for the greater diameter so how does it run with the smaller wheel? Thanks!
@@Foxnhell I did not change the gearing… I had to make a spacer for the wheel and another for the nut, you can see it in my build video. If you don’t want to do this then buy the short output shaft and swap it out to keep the original 50cc wheel. It drove nice, a lot of torque and acceleration but top speed limited somewhere around 55-60mph. If you put the 150 cc wheel it will be a better fit and you will sacrifice a little torque but have a higher top speed. My understanding is that you can adjust the clutch or drive unit with aftermarket parts to get the ride style you want so I guess either can be adjusted. Hope that helps!
When working with all your wires up front, there is a key that has green and orange (?) Or yellow wires that are just hanging there, not plugged into anything. Its behind all the wires you are working with. I have that too. What do I do with that?
Why do they do the swap? I did it for fun. The power difference is immense and I enjoyed it much more. Also dont need a license plate and its lighter weight ao better power to weight ratio. That said, it's easier to just buy a 150cc scooter if that's all you want. People who do this do this because they enjoy the project and it's fun to do.
Hey there and good morning! Liking the video, doing research on how to swap a factory 50cc scooter engine to a 150. The frame I’m using is a heavy reverse trike body who’s factory 50 would struggle to push. Previous owner had a 150 put in but couldn’t leave it alone so now it’s a parts donor. Who would you recommend to order a new power plant from that is ready for installation? Thanks and happy scooting dude
@@NB_Whoops a motor is a motor so it need positive and ground. If I had to guess the new one is ground off to the engine and the one wire is the positive. If so then my guess is ground off the motor/frame and it should work if you wire it correctly. Just verify the amperage isn’t going to blow your system if it’s bigger
@ you’re welcome. To clarify, you can use them to squeeze/align the two wheels so they are straight. Place a block or lift under the motor/frame to set it at the correct height you want and then tack weld it before you do full welds so you don’t warp it from the heat
@@bryanhesler5238 I don’t understand the question. Tubular metal? I modified the existing engine mount and welded it on the top side between the left and right frame?
First of all thank you so much for making this video! I have a question. If I wanted to just buy the longer shock what measurement am I looking for hole to hole? I think the original is 11 1/2 inches long but I'm not sure
@@JacksonFikel I’m not following your question. Mine came with the rectifier as well and I’m pretty sure that is what I had to wire into the old bike. So what are you asking? Are the old and new ones both 4 wire???
I'm not sure as this is the only one I have done. Did you check the forums online? A bunch of information if you don't mind reading on those and the wiring diagrams for the 150 motor it normally goes on.
Every time I do the exact same things my green wire from my stator just starts smoking, the 125cc rectifier is plugged in correctly, but the only difference I have is I got 2 yellow wires coming from my stator and I have a solid yellow and solid white on my wiring harness, is the somebody that can help me

@@MileHighDreamz yes I did but I am using the original 50cc wiring harness and can’t find out where the problem is, my only hope is to buy a new stator since my green wire is burned, and a 125cc wiring harness and hope that the problem is solved
Excellent video! Waiting to see the finished product. Thanks!
You really helped me . I have built three now .
Awesome! I sold mine and miss it. Might make another one
Great job bro killer video! There r hundreds of 50cc riders dieng for this info. I'll be sure to share it on the forums and social media pages!

Glad it helped

I ordered the entire 150cc GY6 engine brand new from ebay and it came with the new carburetor, gasket, rectifier etc. I don't recall the seller name
Is it possible to connect the starter motor from the 150cc? My new motor only has one wire from the starter motor and the old one has two.

What does the fuse up to the wire to the fuse where does it hook to on the scooter at
