I noticed you didn’t touch on ventilation and safety. More expensive helmets are normally more breathable and have often protect you dome better ☺️ you made some super good points as well.
Actually it’s all about the budget one has. There’s no point in buying expensive just for the sake of a brand. I would say it’s even better to start off with a cheap helmet to get acquainted with it and it’s quality. Once you spend some time in a saddle with helmet on you get to know how well it fits you and have time to develop expectations for a new replacement. That said, thanks for sharing and stay stoked as well.
I wear a POC Omne too. It's great. I got burned out on the traditional roadie helmet aesthetic and considered wearing a BMX lid. The Omne is right in the middle. Perfect.
Weight matters when it's on your head. Weight under you is marginal gains, but when you need to support that weight with your neck, you'll really appreciate a lighter helmet after 30-40 miles.
Since I just got into roadbikes I bought a similar giro helmet. I absolutly love it since I don't have the problem with the straps. I've also got a rather heavy commuter helmet for my inner city use but I think you don't have to save weight on your helmet when you ride with a 15kg backpack :'D Just found your channel. I hate wearing helmets. I do so on my road bike but adventure ride I don't. Helmets have not always been around and I think we did just fine. As for the cost of helmets it's just price gouging. Just my ¢2.
@@j1mbobable well for the record I did a slow crash in January and hit my head and if o wasn't wearing a helmet I would have taken the blow right to the head.
I had a crash where car swerved in front of me and I have hit head first into the passenger´s door. I am glad I had a helmet on. It is not that you will fall, most of the time is something unexpected happens.. Deer jumping in front of you.. if you don´t care, don´t wear helmet on the road either, it will be quick ...

I wear a Skating helmet, for my fixie riding. It's Great in Winter, In Summer .... not so much!

Very true. Same reason I don't use a seat belt when I drive.
