Gasquet only getting 2 highlights in this compilation is a wild scene
He got snubbed for sure
@@DjokovicIsOurLordAndSaviour2 REPLIES
he never scores any winner, he just pushes the ball across the net, that's why. Beautiful, and inefficient.
Meh, gasquet's is weak
@@shandarouflmurray Gasquet RG 2010 would change your mind
Gasquet could have got some more❤ cause he has hit some stunners! One against Nadal, at the atp tour finals, against Murray.. same for Federer, that whole match against James Blake in the atp tour finals, is one big highlight on his backhand side!
Gasquets backhand is the most beautiful shot in the modern era in my opinion. Rogers the most versatile and Stan/Domi with crushing power. Sampras and Becker both had nice ones but the shot was generally less offense oriented in the fast court era. Gugas was awesome also.
I know Stan's backhand is most aesthetically pleasing, but man do I have a soft spot for Domi's ripper. Perfection
Thiem’s backhand is ugly as hell and ruined his career.
And Federer’s is more aesthetically pleasing than Stan’s. Also Gasquet
True but why doesn’t anyone talk about how unique thiems straight arm preparation OHBH is?
It is so unique / every other pro uses their arm bent in prep. And every other ohbh struggles with high bouncing balls (although some like roger 17 stepped in).
Thiem is the only one who had all the freedom benefits of a ohbh and also had a very stable arm so he can hit across the batt almost like a baseball bat.
I’ve got a bent arm prep too and it helps a lot with spin but not well on flatter balls - it’s got many more moving parts. So backfoot or over the shoulder is much harder.
Thiems backhand could be a ohbh model for the future - I think it’s to do with him having a 2hbh early on before transitioning to a one hander
One handed backhand and Stan the man go hand-in-hand
Just Pure Artistry in Motion💥🥳
For me the most aesthetically beautiful and efficient one-handed BH ever. The most beautiful one-handed BH stance as well.
Stan's backhand is quite mechanical, a very simple and efficient stroke, but not that beautiful. The problem with his drive is he does not have the ability to generate a lot of topspin on the shot. It's fairly flat. So when he makes the shot it has great penetration. But all too often it either strikes the net or lands beyond the baseline. Gasquet beat Wawrinka in the Wimbledon quarter-finals in five sets because Stan made so many backhand errors, despite Stan having a more powerful serve and forehand.
*Prime Wawrinka was the king of backhand in tennis. His backhand was perfection.*
Still is still Is. Stan is a walking highlight reel lol.
The most aesthetically beautiful one-handed BH stance, and the most efficient one-handed BH ever when at its peak.
what about Kuerten?

How can Stan's backhand be "perfection" when the shot was always unreliable? It was not a reliable rally shot, which was often Stan's undoing.
Most beautiful shot in tennis.
Shapo's backhand is one of the most beautiful swing in tennis, while the most crushing is Stan's, then Domi's
Domi's backhands have clocked higher speeds than Stan's highest though, on a few occasions no less.
The problem with Shapavolov and Wawrinka's backhands is that both are unreliable. Neither man can seem to hit more than five backhands in a rally before producing an error. Both have much better forehands and serves than Gasquet, yet Gasquet has good records against both men simply because he hits more winners than errors off the backhand.
To show just 2 winners of gasquet over musetti and shapovalov is criminal
Yep, I agree, dimitrov only appeared in the last 3 min, gasquet only twice, and no cuevas?
@@jacksalomon2422 REPLIES
Roger federer will forever be my favourite backhand
and wawrinka
Wawrinka one is better for sure!
@@constantin194favorite is not the same as better, so you missed the point on this comment

Yeeeees!!!!
lol you put just one random backhand from tsitsipas so he doesnt feel bad
True, 50% of Tsitsipas ugly backhands are misshits😂😂😵💫
I like how on the Gasquet - Dimitrov point I don't know whose backhand is going to be the highlight.
if you do this again, altmaier from germany should get some love. he has maybe the most purely aesthetically pleasing one hander i've ever seen.
I will always remember how Federer carried himself on and off the court. The true champion and true ambassador for tennis, if not all of sports.
Nah, its all a show for the most part. He has a history of downplaying his opponent's wins.
i play one handed backhands
it feels REALLY amazing when you hit a nice shot
i dont really care about two handed advantages, it's way too fun to play one handed xD
Absolutely 😊👍
But I bet the two-handed backhand players also feel the same way when they hit a nice shot 😉
@@fabianhauser708 for sure!!
@@fabianhauser708I played both and it's not the same, one handed backhand is somehow so satisfying 😊
Cause we all know is much harder to pull off @@janficek6981
Shapo airborne is pretty cool
Stan the Man 🔥🔥
Rublev’s description of DIMITROV’s beautiful backhands, even if they’re unsuccessful 👌🤣
Only 2 shots from Gasquet? No Gaudio? No Kuerten? nothing from Becker, Sampras, Lendl?
Don Budge. He was the first to consistently hit over the backhand.
Those aren’t beautiful
@@MrTurbo87lxyour telling gasquet's and kuerten's backhand aren't beautiful? C'mon....

Might have the rights to post the highlights on TH-cam? That’s my only thought.
Glad to see Shapovalov coming back...
That backhand lob from Shapovalov was crazy town. That boy has a backhand!
@@dunningkruger58232 REPLIES
That lob from Shapo is probably the best I've ever seen.
Shapos jumping backhand is by far most beautiful shot in tennis
I love tennis because of one handed backhand
rarely mentioned because he spent most of his time at the net was Mcenroes bhand, his ability to take it on the rise was amazing
This is one of the best videos that TTV has put out there. Thank you TTV.
Almagro’s is wonderful. My favourite 3 beastie backhands are Stan, Domi & Almagro. Roger’s is a thing of beauty and the most satisfying to watch.
Musetti probably has the best one handed backhand in the top 50 right now. It's a pity he doesn't have a big serve and forehand to back it up.
wawrinka is in top 50 now so no
This is tennis. the best and most beautiful shot in tennis😍😍🎾🎾🎾
I needed this
Beautiful to watch Roger 👏❤️
Little bit sad to only see footage from Dimitrov 😥at 9min only, 4 in total and only 2 from Gasquet... I'm sure they could have more highlights also ☺️
You could have added Fernando Gonzalez, probably some good highlights too 😁
Tommy Robredo had a quality one-hander. I always enjoyed watching Tommy's game. And speaking of Tommys, what about Tommy Haas? I think Wawrinka copied his stroke from Haas. Both Robredo and Haas earned wins over Federer.
Only two Gasquet highlights? You could have literally made this nothing but Gasquet backhands and stayed true to the video's title.
Perfectly put.
There should have been a few more from Gasquet
Wawrinka best ever
The shot produces too many errors because it's too flat and mechanical.
Why not the inside-out backhand from gasquet vs Murray 😢
elegant tennis!!!!
The most beautiful shot in tennis 🎾 🤩..
Some of the Greatest of all time have used the one handed backhand.. 👍🏻
Roger Federer..
Stan Wawrinka..
Richard Gasquet...
Arthur Ashe..
Stan Smith..
Yannick Noah..
Pat Cash, Pat Rafter...
Ivan Lendl..
Ivan Ljubicic... Etc.. 👍🏻
Pete Sampras
Stefan Edberg
👍🏻 👍🏻 😃 😁 😎
I'm blessed with one handed backhand❤
*Prime Stan's one-handed backhand was perfection.*
Also, this definitely should have some Chris Eubanks. It's sometimes like Wawrinka levels of delicious.
My only couple of complaints with this is that
A. It wasn't long enough 😜
B. No Kohlschreiber, Hass, Guga or Gaudio. But especially Kohlschreiber. He has arguably one of the best single handers. If he was as tall as some of the others it would have been devastating for an opponent
You'd think people would've stopped hitting it to Stan's backhand side 😆
it's incredible to think that the two best one-handed bachand player of the last twenty years are both from Switzerland, a very small country
Agree thoroughly.
Wawrinka's one is most effective federer's one is most graceful.
When I played tennis in the early 90's to the late 90's, I was about a 5.0. I played a one hander and one of my favorite one hander is Stan W.
The one handed backhand is the most beautiful and technical shot in tennis !
The most beautiful movement in tennis...i love it.
You do realize that there was tenis on tv prior to 2015?
There are few more beautiful sights in tennis, or in any sport, than a crisply struck technically perfect one handed backhand
Federer had artistic view and Stan has power.both are great in one handed backhand shot.❤
both swiss
Most artistic is gasquet by far
@@astonishingaparajit6785 actually Gasquet' s backhand is the weirdest in terms of ahestetic, but of course is really efficient, powerfull and well placed.
Please make Videos from the masters title runs from isner and sock because of their retiremant
Great to see mr shanktsipas
man the athleticism it takes to pull off running sliding one-handed backhand on a hard court, I've only seen Shapovalov do it consistently
Nice video idea but I have to agree with the other comments that having some more variety in the players shown would have been nice.
A lot of viewers already named some of their favorite OBHs that weren't shown (or like Gasquet maybe shown too little). I want to add Kohlschreiber. Imo he hit some very beautiful and skilled shots with it through his career.
Maybe they will do a part 2.
Fed's was the most stylish and he could return incredibly well with that flick of a backhand.
Wawrinka's perhaps the strongest overall: in BH rallies his onehander never looked any weaker than opponents' twohanders.
SHapovalov's on the run shots and jumping backhands were outright spectacular.
Thiem could generate enormous topspin and in his best days fire down the line winners like no one.
Gasquet's backhand looked stronger than his forehand: it was something to stay away from.
Wtf the total of points selected for Shapovalov and Musetti 🤯 Gasquet and Dimitrov are new players ? The both shoud have at least 5 or 6 shots. But beautiful tennis in this video 👍
9:00 What an angle!!!
Wow jus wow
Gaudio? Gonzalez? Kuerten? Pavel? some amazing shot making there..im sure im missing many more
Denis already has the best lefty one hander of all time
Who is Denis Wawrinka? Or do you mean Denis Thiem? Denis Federer? 🤔😉
всё как мы любим
7:05 Su Majestad no es de este planeta.
Faltó alguno de Marius Copil, Basel, semi final 2018. 3º set 5-4 30/15
Why Gustavo is always forgotten😢
You missed the opportunity to include some of the on the run one hander passing shots from two handed backhanders
Most beautiful EVER? Nothing of Edberg, Becker, Lendl, Henman etc. Only from the last few years are included in a 'most beautiful EVER caught on camera'. You really need to get someone over the age of 24 to do these videos.
0:22 Mannarino has hair!
Whoever made this compilation is obviously too young to have seen Stefan Edberg.
Wawrinka & Thiem have entered the chat.
You put a retired player like Almagro and don't put current players like Evans, Lajovic or Eubanks...
Would love to see the great Ivan Lendl when it comes to one handed backhands.
09:25min in and finally we see Gasquet,,and not even the one included where he vaporized the backhand, with around 165km/hr..
I miss Federer so much
There are MANY players with the "Most Beautiful One-Handed Backhands Ever" missing in this compilation, most of them already mentioned by other commentators here. I would add Daniel Altmaier.
And Mannarino with hair 😂
Tennis video clickbait 101 - any thumbnail with Federer. Did I click it - obviously because I'm here. Am I mad about it at all? Absolutely not! Wonderful to watch all of these incredible and gorgeous backhands.
This should include Justine Henin and Amelie Mauresmo . Justine had one of the best ever
Best woman fersure. Also Margerita Gasparyan. Sabatini. Mauresmo.
Nice to see highlights of a shot that the ATP has basically killed off in the past 30 years. Thanks to the slowing down of surfaces/messing with the balls, and the desire to have a nice, high bounce on all surfaces, the tour has become an army of two-handed baseline robots grinding from 10 feet behind the baseline.
One-handers USED to have an advantage for parts of the year, during the grass-court and fast hard court season, and on fast carpet. The loopy, South American one-handed topspinners even had their own advantages on clay. But since the surfaces have been homogenized, you can play the exact same way from January to December. Zero variety is needed. Gone is the need to transition your game as you switch from one surface to the next. So the two-handed backhand has become the default backhand for the tour.
In 1990, 30 players in the Top 50 had a one-hander. 8 players in the Top 10 alone! There were one-handed baseliners, one-handed serve-and-volleyers . . .
2000: 21 of the Top 50.
2010: 14
2020: 9
Today: 7
Faltou o GUGA!
wow manarino had hair
Almagro was really lining them up vs Ferrer in Madrid...
Too many of Shapovalov
I think a couple of Kohlschreiber's backhands could've made this list
Tsitsipas was added to increase the number of players in the video? 🤣🤣
These backhands increase my endorfin level, just wow!
one-handed backhad >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> anything
talking about top spin one handed backhands (no slice) in my opinion the ranking is
1 Wawrinka
2 Thiem
3 Gasquet
4 Federer
ecc.... and i' m a Federer fan
Glad to see Almagro included here. But have to ask... What, no Justine Henin as part of the conversation?
Gasquet got snubbed
2 Gasquet shots, no Gaudio, no Sampras, no Lendl, and no Henin? Y’all goofed.
Missed Kuerten, Sampras, Lendl..
all onehanders - rarity these days.
I never understand why in this one-handed backhands compilations the ATP set aside every time Gaudio (a Roland Garros champion), and put Almagro or Shapo, who, with all due respect, have not been as successful as Gaston. Gaudio´s backhand was a thing of beauty and deserves some respect and tribute, and not be treated like forgotten trash. Yes, he never had much marketing as the new generations, but anyway, we are talking about the last Roland Garros Champions before Nadal´s era.
Interesting seeing Shapo and Theim here ... Its amazing how far the mighty have fallen!
Most Lethal 1 handed BH: Wawrinka. Most beautiful: Federer. Shapo and Thiem are close 2nd.
No Kohlschreiber? He had a pretty nice one-hander
¿Gaudio? ¿Blake?
Good collection but no Ivan Lendl? Kidding???
It's a shame that one-handed backhand is fading in pro tennis. Not consistent enough to stay in long rally.
Mannarino with hair
10:10 It even had a bit of banana side spin on it.
Wawrinka supremacy section
El mejor jugador de todos los tiempos ya q tiene estilo , gracia, educación,elegancias y los mejores passing shots el q le sigue los pasos es el joven Carlos Alcaraz con tan solo 20 años se asemeja muchísimo a Roger Federer …….
Ayo that’s mannarino with hair…
Almagro getting four highlights to Gasquet's two is ridiculous. You should be ashamed, TennisTV.
