" at 15 your mother was murdered...what was life like at 15 1/2?" OMG THIS INTERVIEWER. Dave shows his innate elegance and patience in this interview. Really lovely.
@@collin2502 what the interviewer is doing is tactless. And a gut punch of a way to start out a “friendly” interview. He thinks he’s the next Barbara Walter’s with his tough questions. I think it shows a lack of respect for the interviewees humanity, and it treats Dave’s worst days as a commodity for ratings and nosy peoples entertainment. This is what we are used to seeing on television, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only way to handle these types of things. Imagine already being amped up to do an interview and then right off the bat, they ask about your dead mom’s murder in that tone of voice. No intro, no small talk, no social lubricator. It’s weird and jarring.
Dave never ages,I'm glad he's on a better path.I love how strong and blunt he is,his sardonic humor he's not scared to out the host in his place, I've always loved dave since I was a kid,met him while playing guitar at Starbucks and he stopped and chatted, will never forget
It's funny, I had been watching a bunch of clips of him talking in interviews, on shows, etc but it wasn't until THIS video that I realized that he says Ultimately, A LOT! Haha!
Your story is so captivating and interesting to me. The reasons I am so moved is because you did something about your terrible loss. You did not shut down and wallow in the tragedies you experienced at such a young age. You played a big role to make sure justice was done. I am so happy for you that your music and other successful ventures provided an outlet that made you the successful musical artist and person that you are today. I am so proud of you.
I just watched Mourning Son it says comments moved to here. I'm bawling my eyes out and your Mom would be so proud of you Dave. I'm a Big Fan of your Music but I'm even a Bigger Fan of you as an Amazing Human Being!! I hope you find Happiness not only for you but for your Mom she wants you to be Happy and she is with you. I'm so sorry for the pain you endured prayers for you both. I must get something off my chest everyone gave the film a great rating it was so heart wrenching but to the 5 people who put a thumbs down you're a real piece of shit just like the murderer in this film. I realize they probably just want attention but it just infuriates me and I can't keep quiet. Thank God for the Good People in this World like you Dave God Bless😢💔🙏
"At the end of the day; what does it matter?" "Sometime's the most spiritual thing I can come up with is; so what?" Same here. Can be very comforting and emboldening.
He really is saying some smart things. In about 100 years most of us will not even be here and all the things we worried about will be forgotten forever
Few people could feel or know anything about something like this. Dave will see her again when the time is right. As for turning blue, I'm glad his tone is as good as gold. I have seen someone who had died at a party a very long time ago when they 'turned blue,' but didn't make it back from where their unconsciousness led them, hopefully to God. Viva Dave's work! I still would love to hear another solo album.
I was afraid of not being accepted by anyone at the beginning of high school, but I eventually just started talking to a lot of nice people and now my Facebook is overflowing with friend requests.
Satanist, drinks baby blood and goes to Israel for blood transfusion, how the fuck do you think Rolling Stones still tour @80 years old !? Look it up yourself.
The original reason I listened to this is rhcp one hot minute which may not be the best album but it is the reason i started music as a young teen. As a relentless addict now it hits home in two ways. Great musician and soul. Have no fear and enjoy instead of worrying everyone. Sorry for being cheesy but its the truth. Have a productive happy life one and all. 12 X
This is the BEST advice.go look at Cognitive behaviour therapy.anxiety and fear is in the mind so what dave says is true dont think about the ifs and buys as it might not happen or be as bad as you think.
The interviewer really just doesn t get it. He talks to the interviewee as if it is a plot of a movie. This person went to so much hardship, man. It is beautiful that he became such an appreciated musician. Be well, man.
Alright now that we know what happened at 15, can you tell us how you were at 15 and a half? Thanks for that Dave, now we are starting to get the picture. Can you please explain your status at around 15 years and 9.5 months?
Perry and Dave wouldn't have written such great music if it weren't for Heroin. Glad they both kicked it but definitely helped them in their music career..
Quote "What is my fear of, my business failing, my marriage failing" like they are extracurricular activities that mean nothing. Both of those will fuck you up. Failed business means 7.5 years in credit hell and a failed marriage means (if you have kids) the rest of your life. I think the host is being flippant.
That was really cool. The God of thunder speaks. Fall in love with your endeavors and work on it. Be positive be good. Be a goodgood. B-interviwer sucks. Awesome for this. Time to buzz and rock out to some old blues Navarro. Be positive.
Met Dave on a flight to Cincinnati, OH when he was with Jane's to do a concert. Amazingly rude and dismissive, while his bandmates as well as Perry's wife were pretty cool. Haven't listened to any of my Jane's or RHCP stuff since. :( Never meet your heroes.
This is pretty arrogant of you. What if he had a super bad day and wasn't in the mood. They are only people and they too do have bad days. What if he had gotten bad news just moments earlier?
Um no...he was joking around with his bandmates. And you would think that if they were cool with the service I gave, that he wouldn't be so dismissive of it. In fact, the drummer came to the front galley and talked with us for about 20 minutes.
Children will play together it seems. I doubt people that wear paperclips as earrings would understand anything such as common courtesy and respect. If anything, *I* was bending over backwards to make sure he had a great flight. But you've never had a job, so you'd know nothing about that.
And by the way, the both of you. Look up what the word "arrogant" means before accusing anyone of it. A person that sits in his seat like it's an ivory tower ignoring and acting dismissive to the crew doing their best to make his flight enjoyable is not being arrogant, but calling foul on it is? Kthxbai. I know what kind of mindless fanboys I'm dealing with now and I won't waste another syllable on you.
True Story: Had a chance to meet Dave @ Starlight Tattoo grand opening in Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay, BUT... we'd stayed up the night before all night and by the next night, friend needed "a nap". I said "I'll come get you when I see him". I went upstairs to wake her up and missed my contact with my credentials at the door (I couldn't wake her up anyway- OUT!). So, I didn't get to meet him. This vid shows why it'd have been great. Brilliant Valentines weekend anyway. Sssshhhh.... Vegas. No details.
I hate does kinds of interview... Sensationalism just for the sake of it. It's amazing to see how casually Dave went through it... "No Fear" for sure !
OK, Navarro may have done some meditation. His line about people getting "scared because they think scary thoughts" is straight outta buddhist philosophy. But it's also something you can discover for yourself.
Jon Focker not true. He practices Eastern traditions, as you can see him at any time wearing a mala and practicing mediation and yoga. Just because you see an alchemist symbol on his throat doesn't mean he's a satanist. That symbol was borrowed from alchemy by satanism, just as many other symbols were.
Tamar Salazar he's satanist by admission , has blood transfusions to stay youthful , did drugs and booze his rock star life , and looks amazing, he's 55 now and looks 30! Rolling Stones often go to Israel for blood transfusions from kidnapped youth , still touring @80 years old ! Janes Rocks , no doubt , but everyone sold their soul for Rockin Roll fame and fortune
What the hell are you talking about, Shawna? Dave wasn't rude about anything. His mother was murdered when he was 15 and he spoke honestly about it. Go ahead and change your name. I'm sure he won't care.
why is this man so striking? there's something about him that I really like.
Those eyebrows lmao
LOL
His mother was beautiful too, so it must be genetics.
Go look him up around the 90-91 era. Long long dreadlocks.. super skinny (heroin)
coz Dave's Style, Tone, Chord Voicing is flat-out amazing! (Hot minute tour)
" at 15 your mother was murdered...what was life like at 15 1/2?" OMG THIS INTERVIEWER.
Dave shows his innate elegance and patience in this interview. Really lovely.
Jenny Kaye he’s just asking what it was like. He’s allowed to ask about something. It’s Dave’s choice to respond
Why does it seems like he doesn't care what the answer is. (the interviewer).

Very intelligent, cool, and attractive man. I like his demeanor.
No way I could of handled the interview like Dave did.
matt liable that's because you are a neo maxi Zemdweebie!
Dave you are an amazing person and your mom would be so proud of the man you are today...
Ultimately Dave Navarro is ultimately ultimate
It's funny, I had been watching a bunch of clips of him talking in interviews, on shows, etc but it wasn't until THIS video that I realized that he says Ultimately, A LOT! Haha!
My heart always goes out to dave navarro. Sending him my prayers and blessing
There's a lot to learn from Dave. He's a winner! Enough said...
What an Inspirational guy, full respect to him
He's in the list of the coolest people in rock music. Much respect to him!
For 10 years or so I've come back to this video to empower myself when I'm feeling afraid.
Eight years later, Dave Navarro continues to live! Keep on living, mr. Navarro!

He’s a really good, genuine dude. Anyone can learn something from him.
Love the recap at the end! cracks me up. This video has been a huge inspiration to me for the past few months. Thanks Dave!
dave navarro is the man...
he's a rarity in the music business...

I just gained mad respect for DN. Long time Jane's & Chili's fan. Preach. We need more Dave N.
He is so polite and respectful of everyone. You just have to love him. May his mum and aunt rest in paradise. 🙏♥️🙏
Wow, love what he had (has) to say..beautiful inside as well as outside.
"At the end of the day; what does it matter?"

Dave man you not over came that terrible experience but you conquered it by not becoming it. Great person you are.
He was a good guitarist for "Jane's Addiction" and every band he ever played with.
there is nothing to fear but fear itself.
This is so amazing. Dave is really truly an inspiration. Not to mention how gorgeous he is
Dave is awesome.
He really is saying some smart things. In about 100 years most of us will not even be here and all the things we worried about will be forgotten forever
Gotta love Dave
Yes. Yes. Yes. Absolutely. Manifest what you think, let it be good stuff. It is about the journey. Excellent interview.

Im going straight into my deepest fear at this moment.
I love him!
Great Interview, love it.
Indeed... we are a proud bunch.

Guys a legend!!!
Oh dear, that was an awkward beginning of the interview... I
I was afraid of not being accepted by anyone at the beginning of high school, but I eventually just started talking to a lot of nice people and now my Facebook is overflowing with friend requests.
God bless you Dave
Love you Dave ! We have so much in common, minus the drugs. Someday I'd love to meet you. ❤
Holy shit Dave, I never knew. respect.
He is just YUMMY!
He's 48 years old?? What?
Satanist, drinks baby blood and goes to Israel for blood transfusion, how the fuck do you think Rolling Stones still tour @80 years old !? Look it up yourself.

The hell of a musician ... Listen to songs like SOMEBODY ELSE, THE BED or CRY MYSELF TO SLEEP ...

Any time.
Hey where's part 2?
