If it helps, I have no interest in becoming a detailer and probably never will. I subscribed to your channel about 3 months at which point my car cleaning tools were a jet wash, b and q bucket and some mer car polish. I now have 3 snow foam lances, GPC,citrus cleaner, fall out wheel cleaner, dedicated shampoo ( all in 5l) three snow foam cannons, a new trigger, new nozzles, a sack of microfibre cloths, synthetic drying cloths and the list goes on. So keep up the great videos, they are compelling viewing and you are head and shoulders the best detailing channel I have come across😃
Perhaps us subscribers should let you know more often how much we appreciate your videos, your honest reviews, and thank you for introducing us to new products and for giving us valuable tips. Happy New Year!
Hi david,as you said, "hot water is a gift but the gods",so the scrub pad too! Another excellent video, thank you to revive this xk8 it deserve it. And most of all,HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL "detailing community".
Happy new year mate, great video and good on you for going to help others this year not many people would, I regularly clean my neighbours car because he’s a good guy and helps me when I need it, after all when I’ve already got all my gear out it adds very little time onto my day, say happy new year to dad as well!
Happy New Year Dave. You still managed to do an awesome job though. It reminds me of a Skoda that I did once. Every single surface was covered in mould and, like you, I had to make the best of the tools I had with me. The owner said that I could keep the filthy rubber car mats after I installed new ones they supplied. I still have them now & they're still mould free!
Happy new year Dave..subscribed for a while now and bought a lot of products you've recommended over that time and applied your knowledge you've passed on with great results on my wife's motor my toys and builders work van..so jst a big thank you to you ..and everyone subscribing😊
I did 3 cars for a mate between Xmas and New Year. They weren't mouldy, but they were caked with dog hair. By the time I was finishing the last one, it was going dark, and a fog was rolling in, which made the drying process just about impossible. I was cold, wet, and tired by the time I was done, but seeing the difference made it all worthwhile. My aim for this year is to try and grow my business and hopefully get a little van. Keep the content coming, Dave, and all the best for 2025
Brutally honest comments at the end Dave. I'm hoping your content creation channels bring you in enough income which is a real blessing compared to some detailers trying to make a living with the unfair customers you mentioned. I love your channel but just some honest feedback, I think you need to do more content, especially little shorts which appear to be the favoured format at the moment. Hopefully this will bring in more subscribers.
Thanks Darren, yeah it's a difficult balance when you have guaranteed income from the cars but then big opportunities from TH-cam. The problem is revenue from social media content fell off a cliff towards the end of last year so it threw a huge amount of problems so I just prioritised whatever kept me financially stable so sadly TH-cam took a bit of a back seat
Happy New Year to you Dave and a big hats off to you for even touching this mess never mind cleaning it .... Id not have went near it without a full bio-hazard suit on never mind just gloves
Good job mate :) If thats the owners idea of "Oh! Its not that bad" I'd hate to see the state of what he would describe the condition as "a mess" My enighbor is one of those, who leases the car and , by his own admission, never washes it, and might hoover it out a couple of times in the summer, it gives me the willies every time I look at it. Your right, the same people who don't look after their cars would always like to wash theirs, for free, and just let me get on with it.
Excellent video don't get despondent with the public, after many many years of being a mechanic I've learnt they are only your friend when something goes wrong with there car. And then you are the Man ? I've been trying to find one of your videos on leather seat and to make them more supple
Hi John thank you for the comment. I didn't use polar seal because I genuinely didn't have any on me. I have products that stay at the studio and products I keep in boxes for the times we have to chuck stuff in the van.
Hew new year and happy car cleaning :) is there ever any worry about the products such as seal and shine contaminating the discs at all? Often worry it might make the discs slippy and lose the braking power
How on earth does someone let their car get into such a state, leaking window or not? I know I'm at the extreme end when it comes to keeping my car clean (the local birds know better than to sh1t on my car!!!) but even my daughter keeps her little Clio in better condition than that poor Jaguar. Cleaning that car was a hazard to your health Dave, you should have worn a mask even though you were outdoors. I love cleaning cars myself even though its not my day job but it certainly gives me more satisfaction than said day job. Apart from my own, I do my daughters, mothers and aunts cars. All for free, well you don't charge family!! Happy New Year to you from Ireland.
Hi mate, long story short some garage was supposed to fix the roof. They then washed the car and it went away in his garage for a few months. He didn't notice till the other day. Mind you he has loads of cars so he doesn't use this one much. We just prayed for good health on that day 🙏😀
One of the Northern detailers on TH-cam seems to befriend seniors with interesting but neglected cars and details them for free, it would be interesting to see something similar down South..
I’m nowhere near the skill level you’re at but I have done several cars for an ex-employer of mine, along with some family and friends cars. I agree it can be a bit soul-destroying, especially when you know they don’t really care about their car or they don’t appreciate how much time and energy goes into it.
Silly question but with the mold wouldn’t a smell stick around? I’ve dealt with mold in a home and of course it leaves a smell. Im just wondering it is obviously very nice looking now with your magic but does it still smell moldy?
I enjoyed that one son. Surely the moral of the story has to be !! If you're going to get a convertible make sure you have somewhere to put it when it rains. Then use the wife's car...😂🤣.Dad 👍🍺
what's more embarrassing is that you read it, got embarrassed because it offended you intellectual status, but then embarrassed yourself by responding to it. #fail @alancrisp1582
I've often thought about starting a business in valeting & detailing but was worried I'd lose the love for it. Its a good call on doing cars for free for people who deserve it - I'll stay the weird bloke in the village who cleans their car too much, chats to everyone and maybe do some other peoples cars gratis. Weve got to do what makes us happy, whatever that is! I do like the videos though pal, so keep them coming if you can 🫡
Yeah it's one of those things that turns a hobby into a chore. Of course it depends on many factors but I've done it for so long now it's difficult to keep the positivity
@epicautomotivedetailing probably age too with regards to positivity - welcome to 'middle age' mate. It gets us all eventually!🤭 See you in the next video 💪

Hi David that's very kind of you to say thanks so much. Really appreciate it 🙏
Perhaps us subscribers should let you know more often how much we appreciate your videos, your honest reviews, and thank you for introducing us to new products and for giving us valuable tips. Happy New Year!
Thanks mate. I just try to find content that people may enjoy 🙏
I second that ! Well said ! And thanks Dave for all the good content honestly!
Keep smiling Dave. Great videos. Keep the love for what you do.
Thanks mate
Oh a more mature note, good on you for being so honest at the end.
Thank you, yeah it may have been a bit personal but people need to know the truth 🙏
Thank you for the video Dave. That Jag definitely wasn't the new year present you wanted. Top result achieved - good work 👍.
Thanks Karl. It was the last job of the year so a good way to end it with a video
Hi david,as you said, "hot water is a gift but the gods",so the scrub pad too! Another excellent video, thank you to revive this xk8 it deserve it. And most of all,HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL "detailing community".
Happy new year mate. Totally agree on the scrub pads they are amazing
A very honest video, Dave. Take care of yourself. I like that you're a "peoples person". Makes me glad to hear those kind of people still exists
Thanks mate 🙂

Happy new year to you too mate. Yeah I feel i'm in better position now to help others
“Quick in and out” makes me wonder when did he last look inside for it to get that bad 🥴 Happy New Year Dave amazing transformation as always!
I don't think he looked inside to be honest 😂
@ it was probably a dark day 😂
Happy New Year! Absolutely love these voiceover videos on your mobile detailing jobs
Happy new year mate I hope you have a great one. I just wing it with the voiceovers 😉

Thanks so much Simon it means a lot 🙏. Happy new year
Prefer these types of videos and look forward to seeing more, helping people who need it is a great way of growing the channel aswell
Thank you
Not much i can say about that video except what you have said is spot on , Happy New year Dave.

Nice you'll be surprised what you can do with small van builds.
Got to do what you’ve got to do sometimes. Jays got some surprises 😉
Happy New Year Dave, it was sad to see the jag in such a state, it will be nice to see it in the studio getting pampered
Happy new year Eamon. Hope you have a good one
Once again another fantastic video Dave thanks for all the videos over the year.
All the best for 2025 to you and the family Dave.
Happy new year mark 🥳
Am glad I've seen this I've got one tomorrow 😮
Love your honesty Dav 😂
thanks mate

Well done nice job,and couldn’t agree more it can be hard if you get in the wrong mind set even more so in the winter months👍
Thanks Simon
Great video Dave. If I seen my XK in that state, I think I would be crying :/
Thanks James, he works away from home so this has not seen daylight in a very long time
Happy New Year to you Dave and a big hats off to you for even touching this mess never mind cleaning it .... Id not have went near it without a full bio-hazard suit on never mind just gloves
Happy new year Peter 🎉
Great job and as always entertaining video. Have a great 2025 😊
Thank you, you too 🎉
That was grim. Aldi straws. You looking for sponsorship 😂😂 Happy New Year Dave
Happy new year to you too mate 🎉
A big 👍 from me, all the best for 2025 Dave.
Thanks Paul 😀

Thanks mate, yeah I need to make a video on that process
I think you need to go on tour ? Starting in Cambridgeshire 👍 😂😂
Lovely car, even with the mold its still a Jaaaaag. But please, next time you have to detail something like this, get a hazmat suit 😆
Maybe next Christmas I'll get one 😅
That is too true but as a detailer I have some customers that want their cars loved like I love mine and that’s why they come to me.
Nice vid. Reminded of my first car, a lovely 1969 Allegro...
Definitely take a mouldy Jag over the new rubbish..
Why didn't you use Polar Seal?
Hi John thank you for the comment. I didn't use polar seal because I genuinely didn't have any on me. I have products that stay at the studio and products I keep in boxes for the times we have to chuck stuff in the van.

happy new year mate. It doesnt have any effects as the second you tap the brakes any residue is well and truly gone
£20 well earned😁 Happy New Year!
Happy new year Howard
@@epicautomotivedetailing And to you. Not the weekend for car cleaning so watching TH-cam videos - thank you for uploading.

I want to do something like this on TV one day. I think the idea has the legs to do it. I've got a few lined up to clean over the next few weeks
Great work mate I’m into my 39th year making money for the salesman
Thanks Steve
Poor Jag 😣
We're working on it properly soon in the studio. It will be back to it's best 👌
@@epicautomotivedetailing I’ll look forward to that 🙂

yeah that feeling of worthlessness can really get to you
Hope you charged properly for that job Dave, danger money needed!
I did 😉
Silly question but with the mold wouldn’t a smell stick around? I’ve dealt with mold in a home and of course it leaves a smell. Im just wondering it is obviously very nice looking now with your magic but does it still smell moldy?
thankfully this didnt smell too bad on this occasion

How kind of you, what a lovely thing to do in 2025.
Thanks Ben, I've got a very big video coming which is nearly finished where I do something special for someone
You should have worn a respirator
Yeah I can't argue with that. 🙂
Think I might not have used so many products and effort until after the bodywork job had been done ?
he didnt want to do that sadly
First! ( embarrassing for a 54yr old to say that 😅) happy new year
Happy new year!! 🎊
🤨 And embarrassing for me to have to read this pointless comment !..

Who lets an XK get in such a state :(
Hairier than Aldi strawberries.
looking forward to 2025
I'm buzzing. Got lots of stuff happening behind the scenes that I've been working on 📺
