  • Hello everyone, this is SA TODAY on 22 May 2023. In this video is the town Noenieput, a small Kalahari Desert settlement 14 kilometres east of the SA-Namibia border. A bit of history about Noenieput: Johan Velskoen Engels dug a well beside a Noenie tree (smelly Shephard tree) named it Noenieput. 1900s De Beers owned Diamantputs.
    .
Also in this video, is the only one route that led to the Kgalagadi. Noenieput struggled economically after the R360 road to the National Park was built, and asphalt and the Namibian border closed. The 1990s closed the school. Few farmers in the area support local businesses.

Wow!! Cops on camels now that's a thought. Don't think Bheki could pull that off lol. It's so sad to see these small towns just dying off. Small towns could provide work if we can get them thriving... I would love to stay here.

It will be antelope species that you would find on farms that is hunted for meat. This would be Gemsbok, Springbok and Eland.

Was there not a pastor who lives or used to live there and used to go out on horseback for a few days at a time to visit his congregation?
