    There is deep significance to all the moves , and the purpose of cleansing the individual of ego is paramount.

      @Abdullah Rashid Who says so? The Wahabism/Salafism way of islam you are following? Did you know that this kind of islam was brought and sponsored by UK to the middle eastern world and was BANNED and forbidden before by any islamic country...so you are saying you are now a more and better believer then youre ancestors? Or you just follow SAUDS paid islamic schools which say that its haram? Dont wont to offend you brother just open youre eyes. Islam is Knowledge God wants us not to follow like puppets he tells us in the quaran, when you follow some one and he fools you you cant say "ITS NOT MY MISTAKE I DID FOLLOW HIM" use youre own brain. How can something so beatiful in the name of god be haram?

    When the first acolyte (forgive me if I use the wrong word) started to turn and opened his arms skywards, it is one of the most graceful, gracious spiritual acts I have ever witnessed. To think of one's creator is an act of worship. Complicated buildings and ritual (as in the RC church) is not necessary.

These are all Muslims and the fact that they're Sufis doesn't make them any less of a Muslim. These are the followers of the Mevelevi Sufi Order which is based on the teachings and practices of Jalaluddin Muhammad Balkhi Rumi. The bottom line is that Sufism is, in simple words, Islam taken in a more universal context.

    The dance is rather interesting.There have a something divine. What kind of dance?

    • @azmhyr
      @azmhyr 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is not a "dance", it is a form of remembrance, I cannot say its "worship", for it was never perceived as such by the dervishes themselves, its a path to dissociate with all things worldly, and enter a swirling trance where not even the self is present anymore. There is only God, and God alone while the dervishes swirl.

    • @PujiDD
      @PujiDD 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      :) can it be true?, I know nothing about it but I think it's didn't mean that, isn't it?, I remember dancing it \overseen youngsters\, I felt anything...... was written to the Wikipedia- ....While whirling, his arms are open: his right arm is directed to the sky, ready to receive God's beneficence; his left hand, upon which his eyes are fastened, is turned toward the earth. The semazen conveys God's spiritual gift to those who are witnessing the Sema. Revolving from right to left around the heart, the semazen embraces all humanity with love. The human being has been created with love in order to love. Mevlâna Jalâluddîn Rumi says, "All loves are a bridge to Divine love. Yet, those who have not had a taste of it do not know!"

    Just a thought, if a dervish develops vertigo does he still spin in the same direction?

    • @lalgarify
      @lalgarify 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      He doesn't develop vertigo because he tilts his head slightly and one hand points up while the other points down and this somehow maintains a balance that one does not feel dizzy. I have tried it and it is most amazing, so I started to teach the children who love to twirl how to hold their heads and arms and hands so that they do not become dizzy and fall. They loved it.
