He was afraid because he knew that when he falls in love, he will fall hard. That's why he was stopping himself from falling in love with Dai, trying to find reasons to prove himself wrong-that he doesn't deserve love and that it was just a phase. That’s why he was testing him. 6) You can tell he is neurodivergent. For example, he gets overwhelmed by noise, which is expected because of where he grew up or how he considered not wearing a t-shirt as rejection sign or something would lead to rejection in the future . I binged through your reactions today and have really enjoyed your commentary. I really appreciate finally hearing that someone else is reading Shun's behavior the same way I have. Also Ikuo frustrated me so much in this episode too. First with injecting himself (whether it was with good intent or ulterior motives, it's impossible to say), but also with the content of his letter for Dai. Half of the letter was putting Shun down to try and make himself seem like the better option, which finally decimated any interest I'd had in his participation in the house. Anyway, I'm really glad I found your reactions today and will be looking forward to the next ep reaction and the reunion (should you react to it too).

AGREED! I can say this for sure.. Cos I've been married for 23 years and we have had our own fair share of quarrel and fights. For two people to stay together, we have to be able to understand that neither of us are perfect, and understanding that, we will be able to support each other through thick and thin. So Dai and Shun will be together for a very very long time.

As someone who is significantly older than everyone on the show, I can see where all of them are coming from. Shun is my favorite because he can't help but be "real" about his feelings. I honestly see a tiny hint of spectrum behaviors from him which I find endearing. Also, if you go from the belief that they actually did hook up that night, Shun's sensitivity doesn't come out of left field. Dai is a little bit of a player from Shun's perspective. He does dating apps. He hooks up for casual encounters. He's different in front of others than he is in private sometimes. This is also a show, so motivations can be suspect in general. Some men can be very attentive and promise the moon just to get a person into bed and once that's accomplished they move on. Add to that, we don't know what Dai was smoking in that hookah and there were bottles of wine scattered around. I can see plenty of reasons to be insecure and need assurance. Shun just chose something from his past experiences to serve as a symbol and Dai didn't get it.
It seems like Shun has a fear of abandonment, like he is afraid of being left by a loved one. Dai is good for Shun in this regard because Dai feels ok with himself and he loves Shun unconditionally (it will help Shun feel secure). I got THE BIGGEST ick from Ikuo after this episode, I understand that he’s on the show to find love but bro you clearly see that Dai is pretty much in a relationship already and for you to go on and confess and not just that, for you to go and push someone down is fucking crazy to me, I don’t understand how people are defending him, that was a very snake move.

Shun has never had a family background . He has never had love towards him. He sees life differently. Dai hopefully will show him the love he never had. He has never had warmth. Children grow with love and nuturing around. Shun appears not show emotions because as again he was given that. People who are emotionally not in tune and Shun past experience shows. So I hope Dai and Shun show their love for each.

Episode 6 and 9 are my favourite, in terms of the turmoil and drama aspect . I don't agree with how shun handled that t shirt thing and I don't like how he compared it to his ex , like how the hell would Dai have known that but I'm glad they had the conversation and cleared in like two minutes. I also like how Dai said , im not going to keep running to you every time we have an argument .
One of the things I enjoyed about this show is the ability of the cast members to really *listen* to each other during conversations. I'm not sure if this is representative of Japanese culture in general. 👍🏽 In many North American reality shows, the cast members constantly interrupt and shout at each other during their discussions, which I am tired of at this point.
I feel like shuns behavior is really similar to what you sometimes see in kids who’ve been in bad situations when they start acting out. It’s a test of limits and how far they can go before the care/love that they’re told is never going to change does change. Like you say you really care for me but are you still going to do that when I push this boundary. How far do I have to push before you start acting the negative way I expect you to.

I got THE BIGGEST ick from Ikuo after this episode, I understand that he’s on the show to find love but bro you clearly see that Dai is pretty much in a relationship already and for you to go on and confess and not just that, for you to go and push someone down is fucking crazy to me, I don’t understand how people are defending him, that was a very snake move.

Shun's action may be funny or cute for others but still many of his actions have actually hurt Dai.. Even when Dai was talking to Alan he had tears in his eyes... Which actually broke my heart.. He definitely love Shun very much.. I love shun and i found him cute and yeah there's no fault of Shun as he had a past trauma but still i feel Dai suffer a lot. I truly love his patient,love, understanding in the show.. He's definitely a standard guy...I adore him in the show very much he was definitely my fav.contestant❤ i love both and i hope they stay loving eo forever... 🎉

I feel like the way he confessed was not the most ideal. I understand that he wanted to show his feelings, but comparing his actions with Shun’s and how he would treat Dai if he would choose him was kind of messed up. Because if this was something Dai did not want he would have stepped away from Shun himself. And it’s just words. Promises can be made by anyone, but this needs to be proven with actions. Shun has never had a family background . He has never had love towards him. He sees life differently. Dai hopefully will show him the love he never had. He has never had warmth. Children grow with love and nuturing around. Shun appears not show emotions because as again he was given that. People who are emotionally not in tune and Shun past experience shows. So I hope Dai and Shun show their love for each.

Episode 6 and 9 are my favourite, in terms of the turmoil and drama aspect . I don't agree with how shun handled that t shirt thing and I don't like how he compared it to his ex , like how the hell would Dai have known that but I'm glad they had the conversation and cleared in like two minutes. I also like how Dai said , im not going to keep running to you every time we have an argument .

One of the things I enjoyed about this show is the ability of the cast members to really *listen* to each other during conversations. I'm not sure if this is representative of Japanese culture in general. 👍🏽
In many North American reality shows, the cast members constantly interrupt and shout at each other during their discussions, which I am tired of at this point.

I feel like shuns behavior is really similar to what you sometimes see in kids who’ve been in bad situations when they start acting out. It’s a test of limits and how far they can go before the care/love that they’re told is never going to change does change. Like you say you really care for me but are you still going to do that when I push this boundary. How far do I have to push before you start acting the negative way I expect you to.
