2:38 ''You will also notice the constant blinking red light near the master signal indicator. I'm not too sure what it means but i figure it means recording. So i keep that **** on.'' This is poetry.
Just got my first controller a few weeks back and have been scrolling thru videos observing others techniques… this has by far been the most helpful and comical fucking video I’ve seen yet, thank you 😂
Yo how did the algorithm know that i got a new dj mixer and i want to chop riddim?!! This video has completely blown my mind, now I can't wait to make headbanger doubles and riddims like Hamro and sImplifire Infekt
That’s so sick!! It’s crazy to look back and see how far I’ve come since I made this video a couple years ago glad you enjoyed it!! It means the world ❤️
This was lots of fun to watch! I've been playing around with a 2 track controller for around 4 months now so I've learned to do most of the stuff in this video already, but I stayed to watch for the humor and commentary :)
When setting your hot cues or memories cues is just 8 and 16 bars before the drop and one on the drop? I dunno how else these folks are able to switch songs through 4 channels so quickly. espescially folks like Kohld
1st set of songs, runners by trampa, planet void by jam PRD/Guru, blokitout-ID(actual artist name) Second set is lockdown by excision, knuckle sandwich by badklaat, yasoutblox-ID, Tek-ID Third set is jagerwomb by Cybertr0n, blood goblinz- infekt remix, Simon the digger- rak vip, bruiser- algo Final set is the introduction- chassi, knuckle sandwich by badklaat, raptek edit by azabim
@@KexDeathStarz I didn’t explain it very well in this video unfortunately, when you load a track into rekordbox or serato it’ll analyze the track for tempo, key and all that. Once that’s done and you align the beat grid, there should be a counter somewhere above the beat grid that’ll say what Bar and what beat of that bar you’re in. So if you have a regular Riddim track at 140bpm the first beat of every bar will have a kick(that’ll read like Bar 1.1) then a beat with a hi hat (Bar 1.2) a beat with a clap (Bar 1.3) and another beat with a hi hat (1.4) then the very next beat will be the start of a new bar. Most modern music(esp edm) in general works in increments of 4, 8, or 16 bar sections so once you can start to recognize that structure you’re able to learn to transition and play music in that same structure and it’ll feel so much smoother for you and the audience cuz we’re all subconsciously expecting 4,8 or 16 bar structures
@@SlimChanceDubs I’m sure it makes perfect sense but I think I just can’t retain any of it😭. A video would very helpful if that’s not too much I’m sorry.
@@KexDeathStarz no worries! It’s one of those things that seems complicated and confusing but once you start doing it clicks pretty quick. Hard to explain but once you get you get it kinda thing
I have been trying to figure this shit out for so long I still don’t get it I understand how to double but I don’t go off the wave form I just go by ear and usually it’s okay but then other times it just sounds like shit and I can’t mix in a double in a set to save my life either I feel as I’m in a slump with djing I just need an actual controller cuz I do just use my pc with a decks app I downloaded not sure if that would hinder progress or not
It definitely just takes a lot of trial and error, and there’s really no right or wrong way it’s very subjective. The waveform thing was mostly a joke as with most the video lol but going by ear is the best way to go. The best advice I can give is try to find songs in the same key and have complementary rhythms instead of identical rhythms. If you have song A that has a consistent quarter not pattern song B has a faster more variety 1/8th note pattern it’ll almost always sound good since the two songs will complement each other. Orgalorg is a great example of a versatile song that can double with a ton of styles.
It’s lockdown by excision and wooli, with Blokitout- ID, Tek-ID(both are plates you can buy from him on twitter @/id_dubs) and Knuckles Sandwhich by Badklaat
