Unfortunely, this bus already converted to diesel buses, the new powertrains are Detroit Diesel Series 50 EGR engine and Allison B400R5 transmission (Except 3290, the rest of them with Gen 4 controller)~~ Also, 3290 currently allocated in Richmond depot~~
TheCRTman Yea, like I thought this bus was not going to get dieselized cause it was still in service while the other C40LF's were being converted. But sadly it was pulled and converted :/
@billlmf this sounded so cool in this modification! oh well. it still has a variant of the Series 50, so it's all good. because its based out of Richmond yard, does that mean it will be harder for you to get a video of it?
Idk why but I like that it had the D40LF engine with the weird head still attached to the top even though I’m guessing it didn’t do much 😜
i thought it was just me who loved that part lol
The MBTA's C40LFs sound like this also, but we're using the same C40LFs as NYCTA.

Very nice! They almost sound like SamTrans 2003 Gillig Advantages (DD Series 50/Allison).
Ninja Bus Fan I remember this one now. Too bad it's missing the Voith.
TheCRTman Yea, I remember sending you this one. Yea, but it sounds pretty nice either way.
Ninja Bus Fan Yep. Yeah true.

Ninja Bus Fan Damn.
nice!!
i think it funny that these New Flyers whistle, but in LV the NABIs whistle (loudly)
do you have a clip of the LACMTAs whistle? now im curious to hear it...
2:39-3:56=best part
@TranslinkKid 101 toward 22nd Street~~

Thx, I want to know that does Vegas's C40LF have the same sound as 3290??
All of NYCT's C40LF's sound like this too (sans the whistle). But LACMTA's have the worst whistle.
if a bus is whistling that loud in the first 2 minutes of the vid, does that mean the engine needs to be checked?
if CAT's D60LFs have that xmission, then yes i do.
the C40LFs we have are in a higher pitch a little bit. the D40LFs sound just about the same... check my vidz out to compare....
What route was this on?
in general, yes they all sound like this (thank god, i cant stand Cummins ISL...
Nope, it's much more easier than PoCo, becoz' C40LF always stay in PoCo depot when they still powered by CNG~~
