- Enjoy your ride on Vancouver's brand new articulated electric trolleybus! #2501, a New Flyer E60LFR, was delivered to Translink in January 2007. This is the pilot bus, part of the order made up of a total of 40 articulated electric trolleybus for Translink, the Greater Vancouver Transportation Authority.
Sounds really good! I'm really starting to become obsessed with trolley buses now
Ya I'm obsessed with all the Vancouver busses!
But I love ridding them for the enjoyment. And knowing that NewFlyer is Candian that makes it better.
The more trolleybusses (and electrified rail) the better! I am ardent advocate for transport electrification.
i keep watching this video. thank you for posting this video
The fact is though, most drivers use this practice while waiting at a light, however it should never be used while laying over without having the maxi-brake enabled as the rear door inter-lock eventually releases after a given period of time.
In Philly, PA, Imagin this long trolleybus on the Route 66.
OK. I was just wondering because there would eventually be detours, like car accidents, along the route that the trolleybus travels.
Bus changes lanes at 3:38 for anyone who wants to see the middle bend a bit
This video was posted when I was born
6:36 how do you even sit in that big articulation couch back when these were brand new? That looks like something to rest on when the bus gets full. It makes more sense now to have single seats instead
What would happen if these went off wire? If the trolleybus would make a wrong turn of wire what would happen?
philadelphia will be those but they will a 40 foot model thbey will come in around january of 2008
i love trolley buses
Cool!
I jad a hard time finding this specific video
@@fargeeks me too
Not much would happen. They are equipped with auxiliary batteries and can run short distances off the wire. The poles often come off on corners. The batteries allow the driver to pull over and put the poles back on the wire.
Never rode on a trolleybus... many of them are hybrid, actually... at least the ones in Seattle are.
Swiss cities have 2 and 3 section articulated trolleybusses, it snows lots, but they never have fishtail accidents; why is that??
actuallly vancouver is getting de60lfr's like hsr and also getting novabus hevs soon!
Nice video...
then how does the riders servive the heat?
what is behind the drivers seat?
Hope Edmonton Transit Get some of those !!
We all did
no hes just a bus enthusiast but i do know someone who works for the company
Thanks you, Videos very nice,
do you know which routes the articulated trolleys will be operating on?
aca en mendoza argentina trajeron trolebuses de canada
oh ok, thanks
BC's Trolley-Buses are cool...though were not gonna see any ETB's here in Maple Ridge cause of no Trolley lines. I've never seen a clean bus before, When ever iI get on a bus they are all dirty and the windows are scratched and grafity all over the windows.
When you look at this type of bus, it takes up a lot of real estate. Double deckers would be a better solution for Vancouver if it weren't for telephone lines and wires.
i think cars take up a lot of real estate!! buses do not period. unless they are empty ;-p
did u know Tenth&UBC was #20?
how long is the coach in this vid - looks longer than 60-feet...
Technically it's 61 1/2 feet
that is big computer kind of system
dude, u work in the bus company or what?
Thats not a trolley - its a trolley-bus or "ETB" as they are known - also can be called a trolley-coach - looks longer than 60 feet.....thats why I asked - but cool thats the same length as our artics here.
we used to
they're not seats they're for ppl to lean on
how's the a/c in those?
If they have ac then why did these have rear windows?
Look at the Electroline flexible overhead wires. This Swiss patent is widely used in the world. Why new Canadian trolleybuses must drive under such garbage overhead network I saw in Toronto, Hamilton, Edmonton and in Vancouver. This must be also upgraded in order to compete with noisy buses. We need to protect our health and the environment.
at :45 we dont have that o.0
If SEPTA have these 60 ft. trolleybus, I know what routes they'll put on. (Rts 15, 23, & 56).
Hey why does septa spec all there buses with 1 peice solid passenger windows?
3 MAIN
i was almost ran over by one of these
What is wrong with Ontario government? Why not building new trolleybus routes? If Venezuela can do, we can do too! Spending 700.000,00 on one hybrid bus that has higher polution in city driving than a regular bus does not make any sense. This is an european study. Why not to look overseas to see how they run their business. We can learn more there, rather than re-invent already invented!
@S10man93 computers
that sucks andLOL it's so new!
