It's weird because I saw like two of those TransLink double-decker buses driving by on 16 Avenue here in Calgary yesterday and I thought it was an odd sight.

Yep. I'm average height (under 6') and I could not stand up on the 2nd floor.

You can't, the 2nd floor isn't for standing. I know because I grew up in Singapore and rode on double-deckers lots of times.
