Miss these days…this era in music ROCKED!! 🐾❤️✌🏻
Seriously, the greatest and the last great decade of music. Now, with all the autotune, quantizing, and pro-tooling, music will never be as creatively 'natural' again.
Johnny Cash's cover of this is great too. Oh, and Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers are his backing band.
Thanks for recognizing Johnny
Great, distinctively different version. Cash is god (little g)!
Johnny cashs cover of everything is great
One of my favorite Cash songs!! I hope they react to his version.
I don't think I'd even heard this original version before.
He does an awesome and distinctly different version! He didn't take it away from Soundgarden like he did with NIN's song, "Hurt";but it's impressive! ❤
What a frigging voice
RIP Chris
Damn we could really need your voice today
One of the best vocal ranges in the business and a dreadful loss to contemporary music.
Go check out Big Wreck. Ian Thornley was doing what Chris Cornell was doing before Chris Cornell knew he was copying Ian Thornley. LOL
@@SERGEANTROCKSHEADBANGERSBALL I *love* Big Wreck, but their first album came out in '97. By that point, Soundgarden had already been putting out albums for almost ten years, and they would break up in '98.
Badmotorfinger is my favorite album of all time. This is one reason why!
Limo Wreck, The Day I Tried to Live, 4th of July and Fell on Black Days will always give Superunknown the top spot for me. But BMF will always be an amazing album.
Soundgarden-Slaves and Bulldozers . Recorded in Chris Cornells prime. Wear a seat belt....
Came to say exactly this 👆
...and bring a change of underwear!
I could recommend this song more. It’s the ultimate display of his voice!
Heavy......Black Sabbath heavy with Chris's crushing vocals
@@geoffthomas4348 What Geoff said!
Slaves and bulldozers. Studio version. A filthy muddy riff with amazing vocals. A must on your Chris Cornell journey
If you really want to hear Chris show off his range and power, check out Birth Ritual.
@@adnap Damn skippy
I love the way the Rob Squad breaks down songs, and Amber dissects the lyrics! They are real students, not just nodding along!
YESSSSSS!!!! Finally, another classic by Soundgarden. Stoked you checked it out!
This is their "metal" album.
Best song on this album is "Jesus Christ Pose".
Saw them at Lollapalooza 92 in Orlando as Hurricane Andrew was approaching Miami while on two of the best hits of acid I'd had in years and have had since. Good times.
Lollapalooza 92 might be the greatest concert I have ever seen... saw it in Dallas.
Sounds like a Soundgarden album to me. Every one was different. Never thought Metal. Grunge, yes.
@@brianmcmaster5112 Listen again, dipshit. Big heavy metal influence on this album.
@@dccraig03 Nice, I saw that tour as well. Also saw them and Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park many times as well along with this place called "The Batchkapp" in Frankfurt, the Frankfurt Festhalle too. Along with the Mustang in Stuttgart, Flaming Mug in '94/'95, and many others. Saw Chris when he was at his best and heard him when he was at his worst. Didn't care either way, it was fuckin Soundgarden! SOUND...GARDEN! Booyahkah!
Louder Than Love is pretty Metal, too.
I love the political commentary on “Slaves and Bulldozers”. It’s one of his best vocal performances EVER!
Yes pleeeease!!!
Amber, you like 90's bands with quirky names, check out Butthole Surfers - the song "Pepper" -
(yes, the band is called Butthole Surfers) 🤣🤣🤣
More:
- Crash Test Dummies - "Afternoons & Coffeespoons"
- Toad The Wet Sprocket - "Walk On The Ocean"
- Jamiroquai - "Virtual Insanity"
- Eagle-Eye Cherry - "Save Tonight"
- Right Said Fred - "I'm Too Sexy"
- Anthrax - "Antisocial" (80's)
- Suicidal Tendencies - "Send Me Your Money" (80's)
"Pepper" is good, but "Who Was In My Room Last Night" is pure octane.
Agreed! Would make a great video.
"The Day I Tried To Live" is my favorite Soundgarden/Chris Cornell song. A must-listen with soaring vocals.
Rip Chris. One of the greatest voices ever
Amber rocking that Grateful Dead talking about Soundgarden like she knows 'cause she does! 😆Watching you guys over the years has been great! Great music will be passed on because of people like you! You two are "musicologists" and you vibe is always refreshing!
This whole album still gives me the chills every time I hear it. You guys should really check out The Screaming Trees. Either "Shadow Of The Season" or "Nearly Lost You."
If you like to here him scream,
Slaves and Bulldozers is a must and you will be amazed!!
That's my favorite song off that album.
One of my favorite Soundgarden songs!! RIP Chris Cornell.
My first Soundgarden tune ever heard! After all these years, still my all-time favorite of theirs!
Same,lol. Classic Soundgarden….love Chris,RIP.
Same here, I heard it on the intro to Road Rash CD, on Sega CD. There's motorcycles racing and running from the cops, with Rusty Cage blaring in the background. EPIC!
@@redline5406 cool story. that does sound Epic. Thanks!
@@stephaniegeer1691 RIP Chris, indeed. A true talent!
Johnny Cash did a fantastic cover of this.
Gave it an old-school country "train song" vibe.
It is AWESOME.
@@HSR107 His version sound great on a road trip! Works especially well here in the California desert.
This song ROCKS ! Never get old.
This always makes me think of the motorcycle racing game Road Rash. This was the song that started the opening of the game. Soundgarden did most of the soundtrack for it.
Loved that game. SEGA.
Me too!
GTA: San Andreas 👍
"And it's raining ice picks on your steel shore ... "
Lyrical brilliance. Killer vocal delivery. And imagine how much racket that would make? 😊
Been waiting awhile for you to do this one… ❤ty
I live in Seattle, I was 20 when this record came out in October of 91. They already had a name around town but this record "Badmotorfinger" was heavier than their previous and seriously propelled them forward. They were always seemed a bit psychedelic to me prior to this album. I used to run into bassist Ben Sheppard around town, he was new to Soundgarden prior to recording "Badmotorfinger" and contributed a lot of the heavy influences to the songs on this album. He had been pretty active in the scene around here and had been in a few known bands. Last time I ran into him was at a bar in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle, he had been working on an album in a studio which was in the back of the bar and often slept there because the ferries quit running at a certain time. They took me into the studio and there were all of these mannequins back there which seemed really freaky.
Spoonman = gotta do it Jay and Amber. You will love it. And thanks for doing this one.
Soundgarden started as a more of a Hard Rock style band. This album is heavy for Grunge. They made 2 masterpieces in the 90s. Badmotorfinger and Superunknown but they are quite different albums in musical tone.
Soundgarden -- Fell On Black Days!
The breakdowns in this song were dope. Seattle was a fun place back in this time. Now, definitely not so much.
Thank you to the game Road Rash for introducing me to this song and Soundgarden in general. This was always my go-to song on the main menu.
Room A Thousand Years Wide is a great Soundgarden song as well.
Chris was amazing in every incarnation...and this is one of my top 3 Soundgarden songs!
RIP....Gone way too soon.
If you want to hear Chris Cornell unleashed, check out "Heretic" by Soundgarden. That was one of their first hits, and Chris Cornell's range on that track is crazy.
Outshined and Rusty Cage were two of my favourite songs by Soundgarden ❤❤❤
If you haven’t already
Listen to Johnny Cash cover this one
Perfect timing!⏱️
what a song to start an album and I dig this tune. Rock on Rob Squad
THIS is Soundgarden's best album.
Slaves and Bulldozers please.
Here is some more you might like: Chris Cornell, "Seasons," Soundgarden, "The Day I Tried To Live."
Both of which are among my absolute favorites.
I got to see him in Memphis for his acoustic set before he died. It was incredible.
R.I.P. Chris Cornell. This is the kind of Heavy metal music that on Soundgarden's album. Very hard!!!! Very hard driven!!!!
It's about time 🤘👽🤘
You guys are cool and I like the style you have and the music that you play from Vancouver Canada
Temple of the Dog, Reach Down. Best vocals on the album. I used to cover rusty cave way back. Very fun to play on bass. No one has reacted to temple of the dog reach down
Immediately I thought of the Johnny Cash version of this. Then I realized that you should listen to The Man Who Couldn’t Cry. Always a very cathartic song for me.
Hands All Over ! Classic Soundgarden .
This is the first grunge song I ever heard. Before we even knew that grunge was coming to take over the world. This song was on the soundtrack for a video game called Road Rash. It was a motorcycle racing and fighting game. As you can imagine this song worked very well for that. I used to play it on the 3DO video game system. No one bought them, super expensive at the time, but I rented one from Blockbuster every weekend.
I saw Soundgarden tour their album Louder than Love. Absolutely an amazing show these guys rocked RIP Chris
Every time I hear this song, I think of a PlayStation game called road rash
Soundgarden…..one of the BEST rock bands of all time.
My favorite Soundgarden songs are "Searching with my good eye closed", "Like Suicide" & "Overfloater".
God I miss the grunge days. I was a teen, high schooler when I first found Soundgarden. I have loved Chris Cornell ever since. Audioslave was amazing too!
Yes, kick butt Soundgarden, they always bring it and a banger for sure! If you have not heard Fell On Black Days do the official video. Always play them at maximum volume! Enjoy. 🔥🎵🎤🎸
You guys should discover the world of Enigma, their best song is Return to Innocence, and they have huge catalog of masterpieces.🎼
First time that i hear this Song. GREAT!
This is the song that turned me on to Soundgarden back in the 90s...my absolute favorite song from them
Just a reminder crooners are the kings and queens of Christmas. Thats my favorite genre of music it's crazy talking to people who seem to only listen to them during the holiday’s. Like they're still doing stuff the other 11 months. Anyway I can't wait for the Christmas music. If you plan to do that
You guys are cool and I like the style you have and the music that you play
Zero Chance by SoundGarden is awesome
Wish you guys do chris cornell's solo, seasons. One of his best
Outshined and Half Way There my favorite along with this one. Thanks for sharing 🤘
Nowadays whenever I hear these bands, I don't get nostalgic about the 90's and the Grunge era, more like I get nostalgic about the mid to late 80's and the Seattle music scene before all these bands blew up and got big. I miss being in my late teens going from mostly bar to bar to listen to all these guys, and even if my fake ID didn't work there was always a side door near the stage that would be open and you could still hang out and rock out. I might not have sometimes been able to get inside but it didn't mean we still didn't ripped and rocked out lol.
I will never get over Chris Cornell passing... Arguably one of the best voices in the business. He is truly missed..
First song I ever heard from these guys . Been a fan ever since. First seen them with Guns N’ Roses 1991-2?
My favorite of the grunge bands..
One of the best. I would put Alice in front though.
Wow she looks great with the hair like that
7:47 That is known as progressive music. It's used as prefix to denote a genre of music where the standard structural conventions have been disregarded in favor of a free flowing form. It also indicates that the music remains open to fusion or instruments/influences that wouldn't traditionally be used.
Good to have you back!! A reaction you may not be able to do because of adult lyrics but its an absolute fireball song, 1 that you couldn't hear except in dance clubs:
Elton Motello: Jet Boy Jet Girl(live)
Great pictures behind you two.
Also, love to see you two rocking out again on the channel!! I always enjoy watching Amber feel the beat, she really gets the vibes of the music, plus i think she secretly is a rocker, lol!! 🎶❤️✌🏻
Soundgarden is one of the greatest rock bands of any decade
Another cool grunge song is "Black," by Pearl Jam.
I saw this come up in my feed and I said out loud. It's about f...... time you guys reacted to something from the 90s, man. So may great bands came out of Seattle that y'all haven't even touched and I've been requesting Clutch for 11 months. Knowing once y'all got that taste of sonic ear candy, y'all'd be Clutch junkiers, man!
BTW, 3 movies about Rock and Roll y'all would dig!
Detroit Rock City (Jay, this song is a Kid and his journey to a KISS Concert that takes some wild turns and plot twists, a definite Rock Comedy) about KISS and the fans of KISS). Takes place in the 70's.
Rockstar. Amber loves Marky Wahlberg, and this movie is reflective of what happened when Judas Priest booted Halford from the band. A really great reference with lots of 80's awesomeness!
Singles. Since y'all just did this Soundgarden tune, it features members of Seattle bands in the cast, has live performances and a really cool storyline.
Clutch. Best Band to come out of the East Coast since Boston.
If you guys react to more rock bands, I guarantee that sub count will go up. Devin Gibson and Alex Hefner skyrocketed to the top of the music reaction channel food chain and so did Tank the Tech by centering on Rock / Metal / Hardcore with all sub genre's included.
Here, guys. This is from my They Came from Seattle...Show. All Seattle Artists.
Some you've reacted to, others, you haven't even touched. I took the songs off of the bands you've reacted to.
Alice in Chains
Soundgarden
Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns-Motherlove Bone
Wooden Jesus-Temple of the Dog (I made a vide for this song (which is incredible by the way) since it didn't have an official video. Took me 3 days to create it. Gorgeous video.
Pearl Jam
You-Candlebox
Nirvana
Smashing Pumpkins
Queensrÿche
Inhale-Big Wreck
Foo Fighters
Volcano-The Presidents of the United States of America
Revolve-The Melvins
River Of Deceit-Mad Season (Layne Staley of AIC's side project)
Dirty Water Ocean-Green Apple Quick Step
Enemy-Freaks of Nature
Grease Box-Tad
Touch Me I'm Sick-Mudhoney
I Hate You-My Sisters Machine
Slow Runner-Skinyard
Nearly Lost You-Screaming Trees
Tribe-Grunktruck

You both are teachers that's awesome and I love your reactions
Outshined was an awesome heavy tune on the radio back then. Slaves & Bulldozers for peak Cornell vocals.
Soundgarden, Chris Cornell, Rusty Cage 🔥 🤘 ❤
Chris could dominate any song with his voice. He was genius enough to give just the right amount to make it about the band and not his voice.
This is Soundgarden. If you really listen to them this is their sound. Been doing it since the late 70s i think. Check out something from the album Loud Love.
My favorite Soundgarden song. This was the song that played in the opening of road rash on the Playstation 1.
Damn but I miss Chris C! What a voice! I love everything he did - RIP. Lord how I wish you were still with us man 😔
The studio version of Slaves and Bulldozers has to be next Soundgarden reaction!
Johnny Cash’s cover is something else. I saw Chris Cornell use Cash’s version in a concert. Really good song.
Check out Loud Love for a very young Soundgarden. This was my introduction to them just before grunge broke.
Grateful Dead haven't seen love in a year and a half
Great Review!!! Love your efforts!!! MORE SOUNDGARDEN
I remember playing the PC game, Road Rash, in the mid 90's and this being the intro song. Cool motorcycle game where you beat your competitors with chains and such while racing.
Believe it was also used in Guitar Hero and Grand Theif Auto: San Anderas
Amber- the coolest woman on youtube!
Absolutely one of the best vocalists in music. Chris Cornell could’ve sung any style of music and dominate the genre.
Anything off this "Badmotorfinger" album is🔥Bangers start to finish
Amber, the primary influences of "grunge" were punk, metal and earlier classic rock. A lot of early "grunge" or proto-"grunge" (I put that in quotes because it's a media manufactured term and I don't like it), was very fast paced, often closer to hard core punk than what you think of as "grunge." Early Soundgarden was often fast paced too, sometimes slower and sludgy, and also heavy af.
Panasonic 3dO gamers from way back will recognize this from the motorcycle thrash game Road Rash!
Soundgarden were my fave Grunge band because they were the bestest grunge band. I don't even think it's debatable but... I'm happy to debate it.
This was great. For female Fridays you do a girl rock groups from Texas named Girl in a Coma "Say", "Their Cell", "El Monte" and a California band called Go Betty Go "C'Mon", "Saturday". all girl bands that rock. The Regettes and The Interrupters. both have female lead vocalist.
90's suggestion - "Who Will Save Your Soul?" by Jewel. I'd recommend checking out her performance of the song at the 1999 Woodstock concert.
I'll echo what others have said and say that you must listen to Johnny Cash's cover. He does it in his own style and nails it. I've never been able to pick one over the other, they both work so well.
Nice and tidy 70s-->80s-->90s format today. Some others from 1991: "Can't Stop This Thing We Started" from Bryan Adams , Hole Hearted" from Extreme and "All 4 Love" from Color Me Badd.
Amber rocking out is one of the best things on TH-cam 🤘!
Check out Johnny Cash covering this song!
"Jesus Christ Pose" or "Loud Love" next!
Definitely "loud love." And "my wave."
Again, it's about time your back to reacting to relevant bands and relevant songs!!!
One of my favorite songs by Soundgarden
This whole album rocks Bad Motor Finger
