  • Make sure to like and subscribe to my Channel to follow me on the journey of fixing up this 1986.5 Toyota Supra. During my videos I not only cover repairs, but I also cover converting this factory 7MGE Auto to a 2JZGTE VVTi with a 5-Speed R154 manual transmission.
During this video I diagnose an oil leak originating in the bottom of the 2JZGTE timing cover. We confirm the cause to be the front crank seal and perform all work required to replace it.
In this video I use a Danti Harmonic Balancer Puller Tool Kit 4531 a.co/d/boLB7JL to remove the ATI Fluid Damper.

Hub bore to crank snout is .0009 interference fit you were pulling it crooked all the time making the job 20x more difficult than it is, improper removal technique could easily damage the threads and the tapered surfaces

Thank you for your feedback. I certainly started out crooked, but corrected it. You’re incorrect though about me pulling it crooked the whole time. There is a parallax effect when mounting a camera at any angle that isn’t straight on. These are known for being a bear to get off. As you said it’s an interference fit.

Thank you, sir! I look back and think - how the heck did that crank puller become so misaligned? 🤷🏻‍♂️😂
The parallax effect, my view was way different from underneath than the camera view from the top. Also it started to bind and had me concerned with damaging the threads. I could have shortened the video, but figured it would help to show you can be a goof like me and get the job done.

Where did you get that crank pulley set from?

I placed the link in the description for the harmonic puller.

Put grease on the seal , Mate
it helps to stop the leaf
and also keeps the spring in place!!!

Hey, I forgot to put grease on my seal before install. Would that be a big issue being that it was installed dry?

This is very debatable. Some mechanics say they MUST be installed Dry because the friction melts the material in place, the installation paper says must be installed dry too.@@kenyattasamuels5714
