I love you do not edit out mistakes, we have all done it, I know I have countless times! I never knew the grease holds in the ball bearings, now I know how it goes back together!
Really nice work, bro! I’ve watched the entire build. I watched the tank portion several times. We had the exact same problems. I even went with your solder brand. Thanks for the education. 👍🏻
Gold guy, I’ve watched every one of these videos and can’t describe how cool they are. Really neat to see the whole journey, not to mention how amazed I am not only with your mechanical skills but the ability to know where every bolt goes and all the inner workings of the engine. Thanks for hours of entertainment. I love your content
Make sure you run premix 2 stroke oil as lease 40:1 in the gas before start up as oil injection take time to prime as it pushing oil thru the lines this is easy to check by loosen the oil line banjo bolt hold pull on oil injection cable hold it wide open with the motor at idol, as for the rear inner fender liner shield I think some where metal and some where plastic depend on the year if I recall right some where even one piece the one you is home made it should been more rounded if was the factory stock part.
Not a big fan of the Gold coloring, but you have done a tremendous transformation on this bike. You saved it from ending up in a junk yard somewhere! Well done!
That stay bar is correctly called a torque arm the other brake part was the brake arm, two stage torque tightening do the first one then straight away the second , its just so you tighten it evenly, well done on the bike nice job
Excellent series of how to restore a bike!!! The only two things: what you did the forks, i mean, grinding them was absolutely wrong. And as an advice, if you take just a little bit of time taking care of recently painted parts, all the scratches and bumps can be avoided. But in overall everything is really great!!!
Hi looking good noticed a couple things off though, the kick start needs to move clockwise a few notches it's ment to follow the arch of the clutch case. Also the spacer on left side of the rear wheel that is against the bearing needs to be flipped so the flat face is on the bearing. Look forward to next update cheers
The black and gold looks sic, good job man. Don't get in a rush and finish off all of the little parts. A fine brass wire wheel on a bench grinder will work miracles on that stuff.
Yeah that plate is home made, they’ve put it there in place of the original airbox to stop crap coming off the back wheel and covering the engine/carb/air filter. Personally I’d try and find a standard airbox and filter for it, much better than running a pod filter 👍
Very nicely done. I so miss the 70s flat seats. Those long mustang sorta style seats that came in the 80s and have gotten thinner and thinner since are really uncomfortable for skinny butt men after an hour or two, especially pounding over gravel roads.
pretty awesome video for people in the future who are restoring ts185's ive just got a rough one but im not gonna restore it i just want to clean it up and ride it
Finally! Dude, it come out amazing! You did a great job and i am really happy to follow up since beggining. Good job ma man, and keep on with this good spirit, your personality makes half of this channel, and thats something nobody can learn, great caracter! Congratulation ma man, your parents should be proud of you ;)
Have the same bike but the 250 cc version, getting the engine parts is hard here in Kenya, I'm even thinking of changing the engine is that too bad? What can I do, I love the bike can't let go
Great work gold guy i am in the process of restoring a 1982 model ts185 i have not come across that piece you thought might be home made but your bike is 5 years older than mine.
Cool !. I'd love to see lights and fork ears on it; and just maybe one day..... road registered ! :). Anyway; enjoy that little baby ! :) some sweet trails in the boonies perhaps ?. Get back to nature you know :)
The first torque number is the Kg/cm value and the second number is the lb/ft equivalent. Use one or the other consistently. Although I'm sure you have worked that out by now.
Nicely done ! The only problem I see is the Grinder you used (earlier vid) on the upper (inner) front forks BC it ruined the surface that suppose to "seal" when moving up and down the lower (outer) fork . It has to be round and smooth to do that. So you ruined it and the fork oil will be leaking. You could have sanded them by "wrapping" sandpaper around the fork and slide it "side to side". Maybe on your next project. But kudos for the rest.
why u decide to keep the seperate lubrication ? (is that the right word for that ? :D ) i´m also driving old two strokes and build the up and i think, ride with 1:50 /1:33 or whatever u need, is better for the cylinder and piston, cuz they need the oil to cool down and i wont trust the oil pump in such old bikes . also im only driving super plus ( in german that means fuel with more octan, like an premium fuel ) but nice rebuild , ur vids are pretty great :)
16:00 Thank you for posting torque from the manual. I can't find a pdf for my '75 tc185 anywhere, but this should be spot on for it.
Remember kids
Grinder and paint
Makes you the welder you ain't
That's a damn true statement
it's 2.30 o'clock in the mornin' over here but instead of sleeping i'm watching this!
I'm so hyped!!!!!!
Haha - same here - just finished watching - 2 am :p
Hahaha thanks brotha 👊
Hey GoldGuy
it might be an idea to go to the old owner to show him the bike at the end of the built.
I will!
A nice Idea from procrosser24 !!! the old Owner will no trust his Eyes !!!
Yes! Cool idea!
If I remember, hes not to fond about being on camera. Good luck. You don’t have to though
I love you do not edit out mistakes, we have all done it, I know I have countless times! I never knew the grease holds in the ball bearings, now I know how it goes back together!
Both the bike and your skills have come a long way, you should be proud. Well done, can't wait to see a test ride. :)
Thank you man!
Really nice work, bro! I’ve watched the entire build. I watched the tank portion several times. We had the exact same problems. I even went with your solder brand. Thanks for the education. 👍🏻
That’s the intro guitar you need for every episode it’s like your trademark! Great work on the bike!

She is coming together and definitely looking sharp.
My first bike was a 1972 TS 185, which I managed to buy brand new from a paper route. Than you very much for the video.
Yupp awesome mate ...your vlogs are a inspiration for many ,without skill but wanting to do the same thing ...like my self
stoked to see all the progress coming together! Can't wait to hear her
Not a big fan of the Gold coloring, but you have done a tremendous transformation on this bike. You saved it from ending up in a junk yard somewhere! Well done!
I’m so excited! Congratulations!
GoldGuy has reached Legend status after this build. You're a real biker now kid, awesome work
Best line in a video in a long time. "Now it's time to use the hell out of some grease"! Love the videos. Keep up the great work!
I really love your videos. I’m trying to get my 84 virago to start and this is inspiring

Good job GoldGuy on the rebuild!
Hard to believe it's even the same bike, nice job man. Love the channel! 👍

You have done a grand job of the rebuild well done.

Looking great. Can't wait to see the start up.
Looks great. You are an inspiration.
Your a huge inspiration. Hope to get to your skill some day.
Good job on your build.
Keep up with the good content, you really put work and effort to your vids big thumbs up👍👍👍
Here’s an idea, paint the kick lever and shifter gold!
That's exactly what I was thinking!
your videos are my therapy..Great work.
Wow man that means a lot, thanks!

Finally, it's almost done! I can't wait to see it running.
Man cant wait, love your content ,super hyped up love what you do...overall two thumbs up👍👍
Hey. Did you put a new exhaust crush washer in? You should always put a new crush washer when you take the exhaust off
Yes I did
My first bike was an orange one, fond memories indeed.
Yesss the video I’ve been patiently waiting for
Looking awesome thinking about doing it to my 3 wheeler
That fork screw up was funny
great job!! looks awesome
Wow! that looks awesome!
Looking great
The first torque number is the Kg/cm value and the second number is the lb/ft equivalent. Use one or the other consistently. Although I'm sure you have worked that out by now.
Hey, you got the spacer/washer on the rear wheel the wrong way in. It's supposed to protect the bearing.
I thought that too at first but I checked the diagram and it said otherwise
Looks so nice mate keep up the good work
Thanks bro!
Good job brother
good work there lad
That inner fender / mud flap is homemade, original one would have been plastic... Source: I built a 71.
08:20 that spacer should be going on the other way, the washer on the spacer is there to protect the bearing.
3:14 you were supposed to say it’s hammer time!
looking great dude... regards from London. UK
I kinda think the kickstarter and shifter look cool unpainted, maybe do something to preserve instead of paint.
Cool man. I would just call it a thick ass bungi cord🤓
Hey GoldGuy can u make a project of bikes like husqvarna sm/wr and yamaha dt and suxuki rmx?
Digging the vids man 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Shit you’ve gained a lot of subscribers since last time I watched. That was only a few months ago! You had 27k!
It was worth the wait 😊

Yep that's exactly what happened. Can I simply just get them chromed or will I need to buy new ones?
@@GoldGuyRides Those are toast. You need new ones.
@@GoldGuyRidesThis is how you sand-polish the forks: th-cam.com/video/UoIQNcxqaSA/w-d-xo.html
Enjoy you deserve it worked hard and that bike
Check Manual. Spacer at the rear wheel left side is wrong around. Big disk should cover the bearing.
Turned out really good!!! :-)
Nice job kid

HELL YEAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looking good, can't wait to see it go. Is that the engine that he broke and epoxied the cases back together? Interesting to see how that holds up.
Sì papi
You've come so far ^^
Love me some gold guy
Keep going mate !!!!
Regards from Germany.
Mahnnn I can't wait
good job
Rear shocks upside down bro
No, theyre right
Ok. It just doesn’t look right. I’ve always seen the adjusters at the top
Ian Loughney you’re right I looked it up
I have the same bike but can't find anywhere what weight oil i should put in the motor.
this is nice
I fucking love this bike
Yeah boiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
That stuff is definitely not stock. I've been watching your vids to repair my ts185 and it doesn't have those rear fender or oil parts
Hype gang where you at?!
Do you know what size those bearings are?
i sub because of this project.
4:08 wtf. Did you got helium or something in ya for the word: "grease"?😂
😂
Yeeeeeees love the vids
Dont forget to bleed the air out of the oil pump and its hoses
Make sure when you start it to break in the engine!!
Hell yes!!😎🤘
Finallllllllyyyyyyy
