Looking the alibaba prices for used and new equipment, i cant see any price drops due over supply least when writing this. I would think the prices specially for second hand lathes etc would drop cause of this, but what i'm seeing is pretty much same prices what we have locally and would need to pay for the shipping top of that and not being able to go check the machine my self and only relay on pictures+buying internationally.
How ever i'm looking equipment that is under a 1K or bit over and havent paid attention at all to machines above 5K so those prices might be far cheaper than before.

@@Hellsong89 Just because you haven't seen prices drop, doesn't mean they are selling. When it comes to used machine tools, I am sure countries like Pakistan and other neighbors sustain some demand. But I can say, categorically, manufacturing has absolutely slowed across a wide range of industries, and many factories are leaving, left, or are in distress. While other countries are absorbing some demand, they are very price conscious.

yep this is the reason why china is rich due to cheap labor yet officials daily raids these company for their own profits i bet the higher ups never knew of any of these extortion from lower class authority/mayor that is why these extortion required on cash not in the bank cause its easy to hide the money while the company closed down due to heavy in debts and the factory is closed and it would be sold for cheap while the new buyer of that company need permits from lower class authority like the mayor of that town needs money to get permits and the land that factory was build on also required money cause the land in china was borrowed it won't be ever owned by these factory owners so each year new land tax would be imposed to these factory which mean give the power of extortion of these lower class authority and if your business owner have to adjust in advance to earn money/to break even from their investment

This represents only .000001% of their industrial might. They are a world manufacturer, don't be misled by any of these pictures. Their GDP was 3 times USAs back in 2015 which couldn't be reported since most national deals are hidden behind the great firewall. They are the number one trading partner with most nations. CHINA domestically poured so much concrete in 2012, the atmosphere of the earth warmed to an extent that some countries experienced fall temperatures throughout winter, ie, concrete is the number one greenhouse gas producer of carbon monoxide. The total amount of concrete poured was equivalent to all the concrete the USA has ever poured over its lifetime, picture that and you'll get some idea. They are currently pushing a reserve currency with BRIC Nations. China has waged and continues to wage economic war against all nations.

This happened to my industry 40 years ago and most of our old equipment ended up in India or China. However not all of it, and some of it we are still using but on a much reduced scale. Trust me, the old machines are better then the new ones and cost virtually nothing to buy and even less to service and repair. We now make far less but make a far higher profit on it. If the Chinese and Indians wish to make pennies on their products then good for them. I prefer to make several pounds instead and so now avoid large corporate buyers like I would terminal cancer. In my company if the buyer wants more of my products they pay more for it, not less or they don't get any at all.

Nothing new or big deal here, I used to deliver auto parts to GM plants and even in 1992, I saw yards like this but smaller scale at the back of auto plants, Even in 1992, I already seen first generation Allen Bradley SLC 150 PLC being scrapped as part of a machine. Be great if someone need one of these CNC machines to start a business, and likely be able to get it for almost nothing. Just scrap prices and some repair cost. Maybe American and European can shop there. As someone said below, old equipment never die, remember the old ways of canning drinks, a pull tab that separate from the can or two round weak points you press to open a can, those machines been picked up by third world countries in Asia and other places and they overhauled it and using it. Same with obsolete military equipment. Cheaper to send it to Ukraine and let the Russians do it than to actually scrap it.

It does look like China now has ‘rust belts’ in its future, like America experienced.
It depends now if they can properly move to a service based economy with proper regulation, respect for intellectual and financial capital as well as rule of law that is not at the whim of a State government or entity.

China has a massive potential internal market. If it ran its country right then its economy would be booming. There are also all the potential markets overseas in Africa. SEA and Latin Amertca etc.

But their wages are not going up. They rather use the extra money for external use and not to give foreign banks to use inside the country, even for their own people ? So how does that work out then ?... So it loans outside of the country ? While inside the country, the people starves ?

Here in the USA, the unwanted unused machines are hidden. They're all in the factories sitting idle, and the giant pile is on the internet; on auction and scrap dealer sites. My last employer had three warehouses filled with junk and one building with working equipment in it. The rest of our unwanted capital is shipped to China to be put in this giant pile.
Look around your factory right now and do a quick count of the machines that almost never get powered up.

Just an opinion !! This situation for Chinese manufacture is unique while the world economy is slowing down. Too much greed and lack of respect by China for the rest of world manufacture had to crack. China was welcomed into the world economic forum, systemically grew fast discarding too much manufacture around the world until deficit spending got so big, countries are rebelling even if it costs them. Include the desire for the communist party to invest hugely in military assets and become a treat to world peace brings the world to this current situation. And its not going to go away, China will pay a big price and now has nobodies ear, western society are on track to squeeze China back into place. Goods are now being manufactured outside China with little desire to go back. Add China’s role in Brics and western society can’t just ignore what’s happening.
