Shots I worked on from WondLa Season 1

*This show belongs to Skydance and can be watched on Apple TV+. I feel ownership of these shots because I am an artist that worked on them, but they do not legally belong to me.*
I can't believe I can finally show these publicly! Feels like it's been forever since I wrapped these shots, but here they are!
0:11 - I thought they were gonna simulate her pants different, now her fingers are floating T^T
0:27 - My director helped me with some notes on the first bike shot, so I can't take full credit, but I still feel ownership of it
0:50 - Other people worked chalkboard Eva before and after I did, so I can't take full credit for this one either
0:53 - eeeewwww, look at those foot pops! (I'm mostly to blame for that though)
1:12 - I had more shots leading up to this one, but they were restaged and reanimated, so my version didn't make the cut :(
2:04 - They changed Otto's line, so it doesn't really work with his acting beats anymore, but it's fine ig
Don't come for me Skydance, this is public now. Anyone can snip shots from Apple TV and upload them to youtube, this is free marketing :D

​@@neanderthalshenanigans I was a TD intern for a few weeks. So I bounced between projects doing a little here and there and learning from some really awesome industry veterans. I mostly did some general TD stuff, light RV stuff, and helped set up a review session for the show.
Would love to find my way into the industry again soon. Everyone in the studio was an absolute joy to work with and very inspiring. We'll see where my career takes me next. 😎

have you ever had that aha moment when animation just clicked for you. if so what caused it?

Something about how Muthr lost her fingers and arms, as well as shrinking her down physically makes me sad. Her new design is probably a lot easier to animate, but also completely scrubs the Tin Man + disability allegories that gave so much to her character and story. Also, RIP Queen Ojo's OG design,, she was magnificent.
Ofc I understand the show is marketed towards young kids, the OG readers were expecting something much closer to Scavengers Reign (darker, grittier with more commentary on the social issues explored in the books) rather than to revamp the series for a new gen of fans at the cost of the OGs. On the other hand, kudos to the team for making Eva darker (physically) and giving her ethnic features.

I was excited for this series after reading the book when I found out Lassiter is helping with it. But why did they change all the character designs so drastically? Why is all the animation smoothed out like a Disney Jr. series? Why did they change Eva from a 13 year old blonde girl with braided pigtails to someone who looks like 32 year old Raya? And why does Mother look like... that? That's not Mother...
