Bastians end fights, simple. They were a novelty when they first launched but now they're just frustrating. More often than not, people just redeploy and ignore them.
The constant Orbital Strikes also has made construction even more redundant than at any time in the games history and again do a great job of ending a decent fight.
Lastly, the storm on Esamir is a bit of a joke. On quiet nights it simply floats around ending every fight with people often just logging out.
I do love this game and have some great moments when playing, but those moments are created by the player base, not the developers who have consistently added negative changes.
Saying this, I have recently started making Planetside 2 content so go check it out :)
The thing about the bastion is it costs a lot of resources and adds a new aspect to the game. It often times creates huge air battles in an attempt to take it out and I don’t think there is a problem with it. It can end fights but it’s not like the storm that has no counter and should have never been put in the game. As for orbitals. I rarely find them ending fights. What I do find them doing is helping a faction take control of a key position or point, even take out a very well placed router, or just farm kills. But they can not kill sundys so in no way do they kill fights.
They add those new think to bring more dynamic into the fight and it works great
You are right. Most of the new content just makes the game more frustrating to play once the novelty wears off. There are just too many ways to destroy good fights.
I would love to call it a polished game too, but they won’t fix the simplest of UI bugs on PlayStation unfortunately. If they did I would agree.
I am literally a beta veteran on ps4, but since ceres was pretty much dead, I discovered nvidia geforce now and the pc version is so much more refined

Congratulations brother on the membership, couldnt have hapenned to a nicer guy :) And thank you for bringing much needed light to the new Playstation 5, this is the single biggest thing console side since Planetside launch on console and has the potential to make a huge difference. Hopefully RPG will realise the potential of PS5 and will promote Planetside to the masses.

The Game runs a lot better lately. That was my biggest problem since EVER ^^ There is more optimization that is needed but it is playable for me now. 1800x & 1080ti btw
I still do not know much about all the little helpers that made it in the Game over the last year. Who can buy what were with which currency... a lot of "don't know" "don't care" "would like to but HÄ?"
It's getting convoluted and foggy. And I hate the Sanctuary! I want something to tick to directly spawn to a Continent.
I think that it would be a good thing for the NSO to get their own MBT and ESF. If this happens and they are balanced properly, more people will play NSO which will result in lower queue times and a better experience for f2p. For me personally, I would really enjoy an ESF that is shaped somewhat like Boba Fett's ship in The Mandalorian.

I think they need to change how maxes operate. Especially the faction specific abilities. Some NC like their shield but most people seem unhappy with the maxes current state.

Ps4 player here, I really hope they fix a lot of the bugs still present like lib lag for one, and don't leave behind the Ps4 for next gen. Ill take lower graphics as long as I can still play.

The idea you discuss about giving the less populated faction more XP is a good idea. Heroes and general already does this.
MECH WARRIORS ! and of course have the build radius reduced so we can build bases closer to other in-game bases and have them not so easy to destroy.

I wish this game was more than "most population wins". Even a competitive outfit of 2 platoons cant win against a zerg rush of more population

Don't add, fix! There are many bugs, tiny ones like holding your weapon in a weird way, and game breaking ones, like dying when spawning a vehicle from map due to 'being too close to the vehiclepad'

I stoped playing this game 4 years ago. I was max lvl nc account but I was done with that shitty update with adding classes to classes. Looks fun still.

Love the video but Planetside 2 is harsh to new players and that if they want to keep the new players that try the game they should reduce the strength of the rookie crushing mechanics like assimilate, nanoweave, crouch spamming, med kits, infiltrators, farmfits and A2G farmers. I've brought 12 players into PS2 and even after I got them over the new player hump and they had a solid idea what they where doing and wanted not a single one still plays. Unless you're a masochist this game is frustrating and not worth the effort.

Merger COBALT/MILLER and EMERALD/CONNERY + increase player limits for much larger scale battles + implement construction (hives i.e.) as a way to create new lattice systems between regions/territories to dynamically change flow of battle. ofc if those "hives" are destroyed and no other lattice connects the territories then they are cut off. ALSO REDUCE REDPOLYSIDE!!!

Pay to win, its undeniable.
CS GO is a proper game. No pay to win. Age of empires as well. Chess is not pay to win as well. PS2 is pay to win. You can get as twice as strong with upgrades, and its too much time to upgrade without paying. A upgraded member can have a machine gun as effective as a sniper at long distance. Night vision, defense etc all upgrades combined make too much of a advantage for those who are at the high end. This game is free to play so it feeds the newcomers to high level / paying members to keep them happy. Thats the reason this game almost dies once in awhile, because nobody wants to play to be a pre determined loser.
Still i come back because it provides a unique experience (huge battles and many ways to play). I dont die if i only play sniper, but a level 100 can use a machine gun as a sniper and thats not fun or realistic, their tanks can have guns that shoot you once and you're done, and you can land 3 or 4 shots and they dont die, as well having combinations newcomers just cant. And they paid for it. A LOT. You wont get what they have without paying - there are lots of itens (and more every update) you can only get with a currency that requires real money. They will say the beginner guns are good, well, not true, some are, some are not, and without upgrades its always a bad start.
It requires a lot of skills, but the less money and time you spend, the more skills you need though, so its absolutely impossible to deny its not pay to win, unless we agree in a VERY LOOSE definition of it. Make the rules on a chess game that your pieces are twice as strong and see if any grand master will play it in a pro tournament for a long time. He / She wont.
So if I pay $50, i can win 1v1 against a pro who spent $0? I think not. But I would surely look cooler. XD
Twice as strong?... Coming from a free to play player here: You do not know what you're talking about. The only thing people have paid to get better than me are their hours ingame.
Clearly someone who doesn't have the patience to play the game... I've been playing since 2013 and only paid for one month subscription to get ASP status without spending certs. Never suffered from any p2w OPness... If you can't handle battles, it surely isn't because people spent money on the game. Camos don't make that much difference, and are the only thing that needs to be bought that makes a bit of difference.
I can easly beat lvl 100 with my lvl 11 account😭 no need to pay even the default gun is op enough
In the same time you spent writing this comment any other player could have earned the 30 certs required for a "night vision optic", and i'm talking about F2P players+ you can even buy the xp boost with merit that you can get for free as well...
